  1. I'm thinking about having my Taylormade SuperFast 9.5* cut to 45". Should I have it cut from the grip end or the tip?
  2. I put a red dot to the right of the logo. Because my friend thinks every ball he finds is his!
  3. I have a friend who is sixty-four years old and is going to buy a set of Ping G15s next week. He hits his 7 iron 145 yards. Do you think he should buy graphite or steel shafts?
  4. Whippoorwill Golf Course in Blount County, Alabama. The farmer built it by himself in a cow pasture over about 5 years. The greens and fairways are like a asphalt parking lot. The Tee Boxes are just behind the green you just played so people are getting hit and the word FOOORRE is yelled throughout the round. $18 per round.
  5. When I played a set of Ping irons I used stainless steel sink cleaner on them. It worked pretty good.
  6. Being born and raised in Alabama I have hunted my whole life. Knowing yardage is very important when hunting with a gun and bow so I'm pretty good at measuring yardages with my eyes. That being said I get fooled sometimes so my Bushnell range finder does come in handy.
  7. I have a set of 2008 AP1s but I wish I had bought the AP2s. I now play Forged 690.CBs because I got a great deal on a "like new" set of 3-PW. I would go with the AP2s.
  8. I always use a tee on a par 3.
  9. That sounds like a good price for a set of new irons but I'm just not into Nike golf.
  10. I was playing the 2008 AP1s but got a good deal on some forged 690.Cbs in great condition. I really like the feel of a forged iron.
  11. I was using a 10.5* 2007 Burner with a Pro Launch Red X Stiff but it was the wrong shaft for me. I just bought the Taylormade SuperFast 9.5* stiff and I'm hitting more fairways and it's longer than the 2007 burner.
  12. We have the Robert Trent Jones Trail in Alabama and shorts are allowed on all of these courses. They have hosted a few LPGA and Senior Tour tournaments so they are nice courses. My wife says I have some sexy tanned legs.
  13. Sorry guys, I never learned how to post a picture. Just imagine a crome bunper on a 57 Chevy.
  14. When your retired you look for things to keep yourself busy. I found some metal polish in my garage today so I tried it on one of my irons. It made such a difference I polished all of them. It made the crome finish really shine. My son thinks I'm loosing it!
  15. Driver - One practice swing Fairway woods and irons - Two or three practice swings.
  16. I play with a guy that usually shoots two or three over and he will keep telling you how good he is during the round. He will grab your driver and say "Let me show you how to hit that thing!" I played with a guy yesterday that shot even par and was the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. Some people are just jerks.
  17. You can look below and see what's in my bag so this is what I'm thinking. I took out the forged 690.CB 4 iron and replaced it with my AP1 4 iron. (more forgiving) I think it will help on a few par 3s that I play. I really want to learn to hit the 690 4 iron but I think I'll ease into it slowly. It's the only iron in the set that has given be trouble by going a little right. By the way I have a 2008 set of AP1s ( 4-GW ) for sale if anyones interested.
  18. I guess you could check back in a week and see if anyone claimed it. I play with Vokeys and have a set of Cleveland CG14s so I wouldn't need to keep a wedge that I find. When I find a club on a golf course I always put it in the basket behind the seat or in the seat beside me. I never put it in my bag because I don't want anyone to think I was going to keep it.
  19. I buy the FJ 3 pack and keep my bag stocked up with gloves. The 3 pack sells for $27.00 at Academy Sports. I'll rotate two gloves a round when it's hot to keep a dry glove.
  20. My 690.CB PW is 48* and I have a Vokey 48* wedge. Which one would you put in the bag.
  21. My Titleist 690.CB PW is 48 so I have a Vokey 52* and 56*. I have a Vokey 48* but I'm still using the 690 PW for now.
  22. I've seen mostly older people use them. I'm 50. I have never used one and my advise is to learn to chip with a wedge in your yard or some place where you can practice.
  23. I bought a 3 pack of FJ golf gloves today. I like to keep extra gloves in my bag because I use them up pretty fast in hot summer months.

    Pet Peeves

Not repairing a ball mark bothers me too. I played with a guy last week that finally hit a green from about 100 yards out and ask to borrow my tool to repair the mark. I watched as he made a mess trying to repair it. Then he used the "handle" of the tool to pat it down and try to level the mark instead of his putter.

    impossible?

I was on vacation last year at the Gulf. I took my clubs to play a few rounds while there. I got paired up with two 60 year old guys that were school teachers from Georgia. They were a hoot! One guy was ok at golf and knew how to play the game but the other guy was hilarious. After he would hit the ball he would look at the other guy and ask "what do I do now?" The other guy would tell him what club to use next and the guy would hit the ball and it would always be a great shot. I don't know if they were playing a joke on me or the guy was just that good of a athelete. He would par most holes and bogied a few but he acted like he had never played before. He wound up shooting in the low 80s. It was lots of fun playing with those guys. They were comedians.
