  1. I'm not familiar w/the entire Trail, but I am familiar with Birmingham and Montgomery...either way, you won't be disappointed. I am close to SILVER LAKES, great courses, however, not a helluva lot to do after your golfing.
  2. He's a pompous, arrogant a*shat. I don't kno his dad personally, but I do kno his type, and I'm certain LTC Earl didn't teach him this behavior. I wonder how HIS GOLF EMINENCE will feel if his kids follow this lead. So if the struck spectator would have bent this club to look bananna shaped how he'd have acted.
  3. Not hardly getting ahead of myself, just getting ahead of the program, I'll be out of town for the next few days. And w/out getting argumentitive, the USMC's birthday is hardly more important than Veterans Day! Like saying my b'day is more important than Jesus'! Happy Veterans Day just the same ya old Leatherneck!
  4. A heartfelt THANK YOU to those who have served and those who are still serving. HAPPY VETERANS DAY.
  5. Congrats, and as close to Myrtle as you'll be....no worries about the pump!! Be sure to bring (tote) your Yankees-METS, Giants-Jets gear!!
  6. Nice!! had some from West By-Gawd that had a cinnimon hint! Last night I ventured into the Jim Beam RED STAG! Very sweet w/a cola..but if you like cherry coke, its OK!
  7. "DIRT MOUND ALABAMA"...watch yer tounge Flap, we got running water here AND 'lectricity!
  8. GODZIRRA!! Couldn't help it!!!
  9. I put the FAN in fanatic, and yes, for the METS! Been a fan for a very very long time. And as my home of record is NY, Queens, and POB, Buffalo I am pulling for the Yankees...so on that note, its game time. G'luck, hope its a good game.
  10. Don't want to sound critical, but I tend to agree w/CLAM. Way too much. Now, when I'm in a other than perfest lie, severe uphill or downhill, I do think a bit more about mechanics, or perhaps a chip...how hard to hit to land it where I need it/want it to. The rest should and will come naturally with time. Hang in there.
  11. You wanna see screwy...check mine out! 9i-150-156 PW-135-138 52*-110 PERIOD 56*-83-85 60*-60-63 When I'm between 110-135...I'm totally screwed, the other distance I'm just screwed! Choking down on the shaft does not help me at all...and, NO..I dont practice..I'm a full shot kinda guy!
  12. Call it a TAKIE and go on to the next hole!
  13. Very interesting...Keep the info coming guys. MILLEN, please keep us informed of any obstacles and ofcourse the smooth parts. I too am looking to do something like this in a yr or so.
  14. What's this "DP'd" you speak of? I hope it's not nasty...I'm a METS freak!
  15. Thats great Erik, congrats.
  16. Played 9 yesterday...3 pars and 6 bogey's...my putter stayed home! 3 Putted 3 greens, 2 putted (scramble'n) the other 3. No matter, it was 72* and a beautiful day!
  17. I've never been in your back yard, I swear!!! All kid'n aside, I exhale on my downswing. Somewhat like when lifting wts.,exhale on the 'push'.
  18. After the win, NYC is going to be nutz!! After a loss by the JETS and Giants and last night....
  19. Somewhere between PETTERSON and GUSTAPHSON wound't be a bad place to be! Strength, age do play a part in distance between men, OLD men and women. I dont kno what GULBIS' swing sped is, but she looks like she come'n out of her shoes, and I suspect COUPLES' distance is further than hers, but his swing speed may or probably isnt what it was back in his prime.
  20. Seems to me that the 'free' lesson IS part of the membership dues. those lessons, regardless who conducts them are the persons job...he already gets paid and might take offense is you do try to tip him. Let him give you the tips! As you had just joined, relax a bit and get a feel for the environment of the place.
  21. Agree! Hamels isnt as good as Pettite, YANKS win tonight, Godzirra in RF tomorrow.
  22. I got the driver....I could swing that thing all day and not break the hinge(s), but it does nothing for the 'real' swing. Once the user rotates the forearms immediately on the backswing, it wont break and one manipulate the club thru the downswing as well to finish w/no break in the hinge. Now, if one uses that same swing pattern in the course, it just dosent work. On the other hand, my BIL, who has never swung a club was here playing w/it and couldn't do anything to NOT break the hinges, back or thru. Morale of the story, it for PURE BEGINNERS to establish a swing.
  23. I carry 15
  24. My brother played courses #'s 2 and 5 early this month. Ofcourse still a lot to weather until DEC, but he raved about how well the are. http://www.pinehurst.com/north-carol...lf-courses.php Perhaps a N.C. member can't enlighten ya on the temps/copnditions.
  25. This is my 2d attempt to reply to this thread....seems that I used invisable type the first go round as it had just vanished!! Anyhow, some guys on the range attempt to 'assist' others, they really think they are doing a service..if you know these guys then you know their intentions, if you don't know these guys from Adam, then that is a different story, but I don't think a bet would in order, unless ofcourse he was irritating and persistant after telling him you need no help. Just my opinion. Hit 'em long and straight guys, I'm out.
