  1. So yeah, this is an old thread. I let my account there lapse for awhile but have still been following him on social media all these years and recently signed up again out of curiosty. A lot has changed since this thread was created. Mainly speed. And I guess more knowledge gleaned from GEARS. His original site is still there. I tried signing up for the $50 month so I could binge it all, but couldn't find the option so just said, heck, paid 200 for the year. He has another site hitbombs which is all speed focused. That you can sign up for monthly, but there's a 7 day trial period. I'm still just starting out going through both his sites, but the original seems to have been revamped organizationally and content-wise. I don't see the vids I originally saw day one, it's a little more streamlined and organized now, and some of the videos he is with Josh Koch. As always, you'll learn a thing or two watching him speak. I skipped to shallowing, downswing, and transition as that's what I'm focused on at the moment. Hitbombs there seems to be less material but I haven't looked at it much yet. Will update as I go through more content.
  2. I’ve yet to encounter a rando partner who vapes. Cigars still yes. I got a blast of smoke the other day from a gust of wind. Vaping no.
  3. Oh right. He’s talking to the interviewer/media about Tiger’s vid. I see.
  4. So I was wondering what happened to Jason Day this year I haven’t really been following the tour too deeply and in my browsing I found this video where he’s talking swing with the GOAT and I can’t seem to figure who the he Jason is referring to is. Anyone have a clue?
  5. I'm still waiting to get grouped with a dude and his drone. I've had people making TikTok videos next to my range spot. Not the course yet.
  6. I like Hilda's theme song. It's by Grimes.
  7. I wish I could walk out of the house straight onto the first tee. Kind of like when you go for a run, BOOM, you're starting immediately. None of this commute, get your bag out of the trunk, pay, starter business. [In Dennis Hopper Voice] What a drag, man. I know, FWP. Peace out.
  8. Finally getting to toe to lead the heel better on the way down, around A6. More torque on the backswing, tighter turn back. A lot fewer shanks on course, imagine there's a tennis ball outside the golf ball going into impact, drop kick clubhead while lead wrist flexing. Face on shot looks a little fat. Could start the recentering a little earlier as well. Whoops, above screen capture from this swing:
  9. When it starts to feel like a 9-5 job. That or when your body is starting to say, no no no, take a break or I’ll make you take an extended one.
  10. Hill Street Blues from the 80s Six Feet Under a little more present day. The Leftovers season 1 more present day. Succession, Severance, Pachinko present day. Movies - Welcome… to Jurassic Park The theme to The DaVinci Code is relatively unknown compared to Zimmer’s other works but it invokes such a sense of wonder and mystery. Haven’t watched many movies since the start of the pandemic so my most recent favorite is Phantom Thread composed by Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood. He even posted the actual score for the piano to his Instagram account. This is The Leftovers’ actual theme song to most people.
  11. Tyler Ferrell had a good bit on making changes. I forget the transitions exactly. It went something like, make your change and do it on the range consistently. Do it with someone watching you at the range. Then do it in a practice round alone. Do it with people watching you. Do it in an actual scoring round. I'm bludgeoning this, but you get the picture. Makes a lot of sense, small steps. I'll have to find the video or the text, there were more steps than I mentioned.
  12. 360 yards downhill had 60 yards left and I flew the green. To be fair I barely work on the short game so no excuses. I don’t take the time to go to the short game area much these days. I could get an extra bucket at the range but I don’t like hitting short shots off mats.
  13. Just had my best driving 9 hole round ever. Every drive went straight and far and when it missed the fairway, twice, it was a couple of yards off. Short game screwed up the round and could not shoot 39 if I got the short game in order could have been a 36 wound up shooting a lousy 40. Ironic thing is I haven’t touched a driver during last 4 range sessions. Just worked on same old. Keys 4, 1, and 2.
  14. Whoops. Updated.
  15. It's something people rarely ever do based on my own anecdotal experience on ranges. I mean you see videos here people rehearsing for a long time 2-3 minutes and then hit, that's not the norm in the real world. I see no one on the range doing this, I'm the kook making all these moves and not hitting a ball. The other day a summer camp kid on a cart yelled hit the ball. It's hard to do something that everyone else isn't doing. I'm in the middle of 40 balls and a guy comes over with a large bucket and he's leaving before I am.
  16. I guess this is the thread to put this in, read a rumor that the PGA Tour might be guaranteeing 500K to exempt players. So if one makes 100K for the year, he gets 400K. Will have to wait for details after meeting is over.
  17. Oh yeah, directional indicator for AirTags! MagSafe car mount is very handy.
  18. I think the way to judge that, when you're making changes is like yeah, you hit a lot of bad shots, but a few shots sneak in here and there where you've actually changed the picture and made good contact and that shot is better than your best shot with the old swing. You can do real time video lessons, Facetime. Also when practicing, you can text a video and pro can respond straight away, almost instantaneous quick lesson.
  19. Resubscribed to Hulu for Prey but haven't watched Hulu shows for the longest time. Missed Conversations with Friends, Dropout, Plainville, all of those, well, except for Reservation Dogs. Finally started catching up by finishing first season of Only Murders in the Building. Very bingeable and funny and Steve Martin is still a wild and crazy guy.
  20. I think when you hit it fat, but ball first, mat and grass is about the same? Maybe you dig into the grass more so higher in the face contact. There is a photo of Tiger Woods' worn out mat he used in his garage during his junior days. It it's good enough for the goat, it's good enough for the rest of us. But this being today, mats have improved, so splurge more for the better ones.
  21. Maybe you can train yourself to hear it. You can hear the ball first mat contact sound vs the different mat first ball contact sound. Yeah rubber tee is fine. Use an adjustable height one.
  22. If you hit it fat, the clubhead will bounce off the mat into the ball and the ball flight will look decent-ish. That shot on grass the ball will go nowhere. If you're videoing your swing, the replay will should give you a clear indication if fat or not. If you've been playing for awhile, you should immediately know when you've hit it fat by feel. Maybe you have a choice of ranges and some use the better mats that simulate real grass.
  23. Wow. You can air fry eggs. Air Fryer Hard-Boiled Eggs Recipe | Food Network Kitchen | Food Network Get Air Fryer Hard-Boiled Eggs Recipe from Food Network
  24. I did not know that. I'll try mentally tuning people out.
