I've owned TM Burner Plus, Wilson Di11's, Mizuno JPX800HD's all pure distance clubs and now own G25's and they are every bit as long as those other 3 sets I mentioned. Matter of fact even a bit longer as I've taken some reason lessons that helped with swing speed. I used to have an over the top swing, and now moving to a more inside/out (draw biased) swing.

Do you find that either of them (Tour Silk II or the Hybrid) plays a bit smaller? i.e. standard is more like an undersized. I did some research last night after seeing some Black Widow grips at Dicks yesterday and much of what I read said they do run smaller than the stated site. this is actually good for me being I play undersized grips which are hard to come by for different options. But wanted to get your take on these specific ones you tried. I have yet to find a multicompound in an undersized.

let us know how you like it. If you are topping the ball you are likley swaying in your swing or lifting up and not staying down on the ball. I had this same problem last year and during a lesson we fixed my swaying and coming up out of my posture which led to better fairway wood shots. Right now I have 2 sets of FW. Ping k15 3 and 5 woods. And the Tour Edge Trilogy 4w and 7w. The Pings are the easist to hit that I have owned or demo'd. They are a bit on the large size head wise so from the rough they are not that versatile. But off the tee and fairway you can't go wrong. The Trilogies are very nice too but not as forgiving for me. They play better from the rough with their sole design.

Whats in my bag: Driver 12*- R11s (normally set to 13.5*) - 215-245 depending on couse conditions and weather. 3w 16* - Ping K15 - 195 off deck and 200-215 off the tee 5w 19* - Ping K15 - 185 4h 23* - Tour Edge Trilogy - 175 5h 26* - Tour Edge Trilogy - 165 Irons - Ping G25 6i -150-155 7i - 140-145 8i- 130-135 9i- 120-125 PW - 110-115 UW (50*)- 100-105 SW (54*) - 85 LW (58*) - 70 Putter - Odyssey Dart All my clubs are Reg flex I also have a Tour Edge Trilogy 4w and 7w that I mix in every now and then. Especially in cooler temps and soggy conditions as the Trilogies work better out of the rough than the K15 fairways do. I hit the K15's more consistent though. I've looked at the hybrid sets, most notably the Adams V3R set but just couldnt get past the bulkyness look of the 7i-PW. I've also dabbled with using a Ping G10 32* hybrid in place of my 6i but found it to be a little on the erratic side. Great for shots from the FW, rough and bad lies but found I was more consistent on par 3's with the 6i.

Couple of thoughts. The G15/G20 series hybrids are often referred to as the "big toe" looking hybrids...Repeatly have read and experienced that they love to be hit like an iron (meaning, lots of shaft lean and striking down on them) vs some hybrids that are meant to be more swept like a FW. Last year I gave up on trying to play a G15 2h (17*). I spoke to Ping and they suggested somebody with my swing speed (88 mph or so with driver) that my lowest lofted hybrid should be something in the 20-22* range. I agree with them now. Also I prefer to sweep my hybrids and not hit down on them so the G15 was just to conducive to my swing. Looking at your handicap, the smaller head on the hybrid coupled with the lower loft and longer shaft could be your culprit. I believe at a certain point, clubs just get out of range for us higher cap players (I avg around an 89 this season). As far as the 7w, I've wanted to game one for the past 3 seasons, but I can never seem to get a 7w to fit into my arsenal of clubs. For instance I game a K15 5w at 19*. This has been my go to club off the deck for a couple of years now. So its not coming out of the bag. I am a short hitter and can usually hit this 180-190 consistently. Last season I bought a G15 7w at 21.5* I believe and it was only 5 yds less than my 5w. I preferred the big head of the K15 and stuck with it instead of the 7w and ditched the G15. My next club down from the 5w is a TEE Trilogy 4h at 23*. This club is my 170-175 club. Love it. With my Trilogy hybrid sucess I decided to try an experiment and bought the TEE Trilogy 4w and 7w. Thinking it would be a perfect setup for me.... Trilogy 16.5* 4w, 21* 7w, 23* hybrid. Once again the 7w just never seemed to fit anywhere gap wise. The 7w was marginally longer than the 4h but much more difficult to hit consistently. During testing sessions I found that on a good strike I was able to hit the 7w farther than my k15 5w, so it was definitely a hot club but I was much more consistent with the K15 so I stuck with it.. In the end I decided since the k15 has been so good to me that I finally picked up a 3w to match. So now I play Driver 12*, K15 3w 16*. K15 5w 19*, then the 23* Trilogy hybrid. The gaps are perfect. I might be able to be of some assistance. Back in Jan I bought a Razr Fit driver, 11.5* A flex. I'm only 5' 4" and always struggle with driver length. So I had the Fit shortened to 44.5". Swingweight was still around a D4. So I had it shortened again to 44" and with an undersized Winn grip was still at a D0/D1. Driver felt great but my swing speed improved and the wet noodle stock shaft had to go. So back in May I took my driver to a Callaway fitter for a shaft fitting. He pulls out all the standard upgrade offerings and I told him, don't you have anything shorter and he said no, Not really. At the same time we both said....let's try a 3 wood shaft in it. He only had 2 offerings in R flex, the stock Callaway shaft and the Diamana Blue 65 gram. The stock shaft was ok but the club was doing some very weird things on his simulator at impact. We put the Diamana in and it was love at first hit. Playing length of the club is 43 3/8" which is perfect for me. I haven't had the club swing-weighted but my guess is it probably falls just short of a D0. I'm a slower swinger (about 88 mph on avg) and the shaft flex feels perfect for me. I like a little tip action and this has it. I know most will say that a 3w shaft in a driver should play much firmer than the stated flex but I do not find this to be true at least with my setup. I have a feeling though that this is because the Fit uses a shaft adapter which adds some weight (it might be marginal) but I think this helps with retaining the proper feel and even though its tipped adds some weight towards the tip end to help out to add some flex. How I got the idea was a couple weeks before my fitting, I had gone to a demo day and TM was there. I asked the TM rep if I they had any driver shafts shorter than normal and he said no. I asked if I could chuck a 3 wood shaft in it and he said sure and put the stock RBZ 3w shaft in the R11s 12* head and that combo felt really nice too. The key to any shorter driver and getting it to feel right is normally a heavier shaft and heavier head. If you can swap out weights in the head it makes it all the more easier to build such a club. You are correct though, the added weight on the head will make the shaft play looser. if you fail to add any weight and just shorten from the butt end the shaft will then play much firmer (I learned the hard way...my last driver, Burner SF 2.0 was a Sr flex and I shortened it down to 45" without adding any tip or head weight. We then put it on a scale and it then played as a Stiff flex. If you use a normal driver shaft you might want to think about cutting the shaft down in equal parts from the tip and butt sections of the shaft. I know my buddy added weight to his r9 Supertri and cut from equal sides until he got it down to 44.5", He plays a stiff flex and says it still feels the same prior to shortening the club.

If I begin to start coming over the top and outside in I will often take a few practice swings with my right leg pulled bag. Seems to cure it and I begin to swing inside out. I never heard of Hogan's advice until reading this thread but earlier in the season I was doing what the pic showed. long clubs had my right foot back a bit. With my mid and short irons I was neutral. Seemed to work but I never trusted it as I thought you're not supposed to do this, lol

Last year's avg per round was a 91.5 (while gaming the BP's). This year's avg per round so far with the HD's is probably more like a 92/93 range. But my game is completely different since last year. Last season I couldn't hit a driver to save my life but my short game and putter was working well. Very little 3 putting. This year, once I got my driver woes figured out and swing changed I am hitting probably 65% of the fw and my misses are like 2nd cut. I might have one bad one per rd. Downside is my short game has gone to crap and putting is awful. In both years I am not hitting many greens on approaches which is where I need the most work. No iron is going to solve that. My problem is hitting the ground slightly before the ball which I believe is causing accuracy issues. Back to the club talk.....Honestly I had nothing against the BP's. Actually my best rounds ever score wise were last year when I was gaming them. I will say that with the BP's when you flushed a shot it felt pure or hollow/vacant (as others describe it). With the JPX800HD's everything kind of feels the same whether flush or mishit. The Di11's had a really nice feel to them and look less chunky than most SGI irons but I couldn't get passed their lofts. With that set I needed to play a 4 and 5 hybrid as well as a 5i to get my gaps right. Also they only have about 3* separation each between the 9i, PW and GW. That equated to about 7yds instead of the normal 10 yds gap I like in my irons. So with that in mind I would have needed tor revamp my wedge scheme and add another wedge which I didn't want to do nor had room for in the bag. I've always been a fan of the Mizuno look and when I first saw the HD's fell in love with them. Downside was the $800 price tag. After the Di11's gaps weren't working for me I stumbled into my local shop and they had a set of mint HD's on the used rack. Worked out a good deal and I couldn't pass them up price wise. I feel like I am hitting them well. The 4 and 5 fli-hi hybrids are a nice addition and work seamlessly with the 6i gap wise. (I've always struggled with the length of traditional hybrids). With my scoring irons I always seem to be pin high so my yardage is dependable with them however I am either pulling or pushing them. I took a lesson on accuracy so I think I am lining up right. Just need to hit the range and work on it more.

If you like the e6, I found the Wilson Duo played similarly off the tee distance and straiht wise but has more check up on approaches. Its also $7 cheaper per box.

Haven't tried the 6dx but I did game the 7DX 4 and 5 hybrids this year for a few rounds. Actually some nice sticks, a made for Aldila RIP shaft and Golf Pride White out Grip. The only knock was that they only came in Reg and Stiff shaft flexes. I am right on the cusp of the Senior flex / Regular flex fence and normally play Sr flex in my FW's and Hybrids. I went with the R flex and after cutting them both down an inch they played too stiff for my swing speed. Hence I was losing too many balls right. They were pretty forgiving though.

Did you consider the JPX800HD's? Reason I ask is I have averaged 91 per round over the past 2 years. 82 being my best score, a few 80's mixed in and 2 rounds in the 100's. So low 90's is pretty much my score depending on how I putt. Anyway, I began playing the JPX800 HD's last month. Very nice looking club, and not as chunky as most SGI clubs. Also the Fli-Hi 4 and 5 direct iron replacement is a pretty cool idea. Basically a smaller-ish hybrid head similar in shape to the Ping G15 hybrid, and the length is the same as a normal 4 and 5i and not overly long like most hybrids. At your current score level I'd consider them over the regular 800's. I think of the 800HD's as more of a 15+ capper club, the regular 800's a 10-15 capper club and under a 10 cap the JPX800 Pro's. Not that you couldn't lesson up and swing improve into the normal 800's but if you don't have the time and money for lessons like me the 800HD's were a nice addition to my bag. By the way, the other clubs in my search were the Ping G15's, Adams Redline, Adam A12OS and the 800HD's won out. My previous irons were Burner Plus and Wilson Di11's.
