my driver sounds great. not loud not dull either. just a perfect "ping" haha. i despise nike drivers, sound like s#!t in my opinion. so do some callaway's. or maybe it was just the few guys i've played with but the hyper x sounds like doodoo too. just me speaking my mind. the older clevelands, well everything before the launcher dst, were just horrid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! taylormade, of course being known for their drivers, make gerat sounding clubs as do titleist. adams speedline have a nice little sound too them as well. mizuno, well, i've only hear one, but it didn't sound good, however this can be biased since i don't know what model it was, i just the a blue headcover.

I rock Under Armour and Oakley hats exclusively. Fitted caps too, I guess it's my baseball ego, but i've never been a fan of the adjustable caps.

Ping i15 Driver - Input Needed
pingman replied to mutadayen's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The i15 is absolutely a great club!!! Best club I've ever had the pleasure to wrap my hands around. It's great for shot shaping and is crazy long for a PING driver. My off-center hits do come off a little errant but not something out of the norm that I won't be able to get myself out of trouble should it happen. It has great feedback and the 2° open club face to promote a fade biased style club sits well. I love the way it looks at address and am completely satisfied with what's in my bag. To be honest, I believe it's the best driver PING has come out with in years. It is for low handicappers, but if you say your swing is getting better than why not give it a shot? -
Used to be a big Firefox guy. Went from IE, to Safari, to Mozilla, to Google Chrome in that order. Chrome is pretty tight. haha

eh, i just live here, politics aren't what George Washington wanted it to be. Too bad, we would've been a BETTER country, I believe.

Tom's tee shot off the first tee hooks horribly and skips off the clubhouse roof. He decides it's not worth chasing so he tees up another ball and plays on. As he's making the turn at nine, his friend comes running out of the clubhouse, "Tom, wait up!" "Yeah, what is it?" "Did you see what happened to your ball from the first tee?" "Well, I hooked the ball off the clubhouse roof but I didn't see what happened to it." "Let me tell you, it ricocheted off a van's window which went out of control and hit a school bus. The bus tumbled down an embankment and burst into flames! Three kids are in critical condition at the hospital!" "Oh my God! What should I do?" "Well, I think if you just open your club face a little bit . . . ."

Anna Rawson on keeping a steay head
pingman replied to mcman1's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I don't really care. All I know is that she's BEAUTIFUL and Golf Digest should make more articles (aka pull out photos ) of women of golf -
Nah, I just keep mine clean to impress the ladies, you know. They like that sort of stuff.

PING manufactures and assembles every irons, wedges, and putters in their Phoenix facility. The drivers, woods, and hybrids are made in China, I believe, due to US restricions on alloys and metals in the country. Something like that. However they are assembled in their Phoenix facility as well.

Question about my driver/shaft combo
pingman replied to jlund's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yep that could be it. In CT, just go to your local pro shop and ask what the nearest fitter is. You Will be surprised at the results the come from it. -
Ping G10 irons vs Cobra SZ irons
pingman replied to skipsaw's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Well I have experience with PING irons the most, but I'm not going to try to push them. However, I've played the parent company, Titleist, irons and the AP-1's are similar to size and play well. They are made out of the same 431 Stainless-steel and they have full cavity back so they must be similar. Give 'em a try if you wanna save money. Don't let your pro overtake your mind, hah if that made sense, believe me; lots of pro's try this to sell the old models. Tell him you really want to get a feel for the Cobra's before you make a decision. G10's are good, but they do launch a little high which is a turn off to most. Great forgiving club though. Follow your gut, not your pro. -
soft hands? I've got Golf Pride Tour Velvet Round grips on my clubs. Just switched from Golf Pride New Decade MCC Cord Blue grips. Uhm, wow, I really don't know what to say. Two gloves could be your solution. Next time maybe try some softer grips, something without cord. Go with Winn, only downside is they don't last too long, but they are great. I'm looking at trying Lamkin's new NDUR grips. Yeah, uhm, no offense dood, but man up I guess, I've never heard something like this before. Try wearing two gloves for the mean time.

You're signature got stolen!!!??? Fudge man, that sucks giant monkey balls!!!!!!! I attack the course with my signature and love PING, but friggin' Vijay Singh has me thinking about playing Cleveland's! Anyhow, I won't be biased, I mean, the i15's are really great clubs, a step up over the i10's. I think this year PING got playability and forgiveness together great!!! Cleveland CG7's on the other hand, I'm thinking about purchasing the Black Pearl Tour version; I've hit the CG7 Tour's and they were great! I can't say I wasn't surprised by the feedback since to the eye Cleveland irons look great so I was damn sure they played great. G5's are great clubs, and if price is no option, go with the G10's or even the G15's. Only reason I would pass down my G10's to my cousin's and not let them purchase the G15 is because they are just too bulky, but then again is for the extra forgiveness. Something inbetween the G5's and X-22 Tours could be the R9 irons if you'd play Taylormade irons. I would say go with the Cleveland CG7's but I've hit the Tour version so I'm not sure how convincing I'd be to try the non-Tour version. Give them a try and see what happens. The Titleist AP-1's are great game-improvement clubs and the AP-2's have recently been updated and are better than the first issued wave. The feel of the AP-2's was amazing this year than when I compared them to last years model. I'm not too sure about Cobra clubs, however the parent company is Titleist so they might be good, give the Cobra S2 irons a try. I guess they are like the AP-2's. I haven't hit them, but seen them in some high school tournaments, and they look pretty good. Too bad the owner couldn't hit them. I've even heard some good reviews. Go to your local pro shop, or golf store and hit some demo's and see what you like.

I'm with the original poster! Everything is draw now!!!! I'm surprised the friggin wedges haven't come out in a draw shape! Yeah, I know my i15 is fade biased, but then again most, if not all tour clubs are. Fact of the matter is if i want to hit a draw, fade, or straight i can pull it off and knock it 317 easy. Yeah it needs to be more enjoyable for amateurs but it's gotten out of control because the amateurs will never get better with there swing. However this is a pointless argument, just a matter of speaking one's opinion...

i second that....ridiculous

Who cares? It's not like you are playing against him. Plus, does it Matter? Hunter Mahan uses them, Calcavecchia uses them, Daly, lots of guys on tour still use the old PING Eye-2 wedge. It's a great all around club. Lastly, like most have said, anyone on tour can use PING Eye-2 irons/wedges manufactured before April 1990. All Tour players are aware of this and shouldn't complain. It has nothing to do with players not wanting to conform or some players having an unfair advantage. The groove rule is about too much spin from the rough, off the fairway the spin rate is more or less the same. All Tour players have the same obstacles to overcome on the course, so they don't need stupid things like old square wedges that are allowed by law to distract them. Sorry for maybe sounding rash, but it's just the way it is.

aahhh fml yo! where do you all get home simulators!!!!!???? i got tiger 10 on the ps3 and passed it 100% already. it's friggin fun. I have the exact clubs i currently and used to use. such as g10 driver, fairway wood, and well hah, just those two. the rest are still in the game. haha. it's fun. you all should play on tour pro, like the hardest settings. it's fun, but irritating at times. anyone has playstation network and plays tiger 10 online hit me up, my ps network id is dextor304

Srixon's are a great ball no matter what ball you buy. I play the ZSTAR and they great. Low spin off the tee, a big factor is your driver. Depending on the model, face, loft, etc., that is what really makes the low or high spin come off the tee shot.

What the heck have you heard!!! The i10's are great irons. I've played a few tournaments with them in my bag and have walked away with wins. They are great clubs, last a long time, and have the greatest combination of workability and forgiveness. If you like them, go ahead and play a few holes with demo clubs and see what happens. You never know, your shit club may be my greatest club. It just all depends on the person, don't be influenced by others, especially if they don't have the on field experience with the afore mentioned equipment...or any equipment for that matter.

Just go with what feels right to you man. The i3+ and i10 irons are relatively the same, just cosmetic changes, however the i10's are closest to what you're searching for. The i3+ has a lowered face surface for more consistent ball contact and improved playability from a wide range of lies and conditions; the i10's are designed to appeal to golfers who prefer the look of a smaller, blade-style club but still rely on the forgiveness of a cavity back, and the center of gravity location creates a low, penetrating ball flight. You will have similar feel from the i10's, like I said, they are just the updated model. By all means try the i15's but personally for me, the cosmetic changes don't suit my eye and the longer irons are a bit clunky looking. Make sure the club appeals to your eye, because if it doesn't, for some reason it's a mind thing, and you won't be able to really hit your club. Just go out and find what feels and looks right to you. Don't worry, PING irons are an investment and last for years! Good luck on your search.

seriously man, there is no way that should be happening. especially for a 9 handicap. for starters your putter shouldn't have a graphite shaft, and 2) your not playing at st. andrews so just give a firm roll on the ball, don't swing at it.

Would you buy these Vokey's?
pingman replied to BrokeEnthusiast's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Nah. too worn out for my taste. even for the 25 bucks id only be willing to give for em. plus they aren't even the best models. don't do it. buy a new, or even a used wedge in better condition! -
Cleveland's CG7 Tour Black Pearl irons and CG15 Black Pearl wedges feature the new laser-milled face. It's great! I have had the opportunity to hit them in our pro shop and they performed well. I loved how the ball came off the club face, the feel of the club was solid, ball flight was not only consistent but a nice medium-low ball flight when combined with Project X 6.0 shafts. They have great workability and are good all around. I wouldn't give up my S57's and Tour-W's however! The only draw back to me is "laser-milled" engraved all over the club. Seems a little too flashy. The reason for this post is that I've gotten many questions regarding Cleveland for some reason at my club house so I figured there may be other's out there that have interests in these clubs. Like I said, the 1 thing I don't like is the "laser-milled" engraved all over the place. HAH! Quoting Golf Digest, "it seems Donald Trump-ish"
