  1. Okay its harder to create a draw with a draw biased driver. Very good advice...
  2. I can. But it´s much easier to create an inside out pattern with a non fade biased driver 😉
  3. Maybe you are getting old. My body surely remembers I hit it last day. And need more and more warmup. And Need to read just my swing for less rotation al capabilities and numb wrists. My rotation is completly different from going out fresh to playing every other day.
  4. Mine is from 15 years ago. I was off golf for 12 years and started playing this year again. Played 30+ rounds this year but don´t bothered registering one. Handicap is not what makes me play golf though I don´t do any competitions so I don´t need it. But it´s fairly accurate I am hunting pars and bogeys and I can still play on it though I can feel the years not helping. I feel if my primarily goal was as low handicap as possible I would have to sacrifice a lot of fun. For once I would have to pay less because fatigue is affecting my ball striking with numb back making it hard to rotate and numb wrists making me loose feel apart from the occasional dead legs the last 4 holes and the mental fatigue from a tired body. I would also spend less time on the course and more on the putting green and chipping I know often warm up as I go. As for official it´s easy. Need a witness golf id to register a round for handicap then send it in and they do the calculations for me. I do believe I remember though as a 17.1 handicapper I have 2 extra strokes on the hardest hole according to the 57 tee here right? Umeå Sörfors Slopetabell
  5. LOL yeah. Wish it would work like that 🙂
  6. My goal getting fit! I bought a carry bag to increase the load. On the other hand I replaced my old heavy irons to lighter ones but my back will thank me in the long run. Have tons of rounds in but don´t really see any result despite huge mental and physical fatigue. Second goal is getting control of my new Sim Max driver. Problem is I want to hit draws but it´s fade biased. I am so tired of shots leaking right but this is so consistant there is a lot to aim for. Just need to be calm and smooth with it and it should be fine. When hit right surely got quite some distance over my old cleveland but that was so fun to rip. It wanted you to rip it!
  7. No it´s you and others that done the goalpost shifting. I said after learning the basics which you translated to no instruction at all. But this is all cleared up and dusted by now. Now you accuse me of changing goalposts when you where the primary offender in this regard? Best and best I am just saying lessons is not necessary at all at some point to improve your game once you know enough I would never recommend anyone to do one or the another. You just have to respect different opinions then yours and don´t suggest people stop posting them...
  8. There is several here just some posts up saying they can teach themselves after some point. Its just not me apparently.
  9. I am not quite following you here. What I see here is some believe in lifelong lessons with instructors will make you better then using your own head. Some believe after a certain point you can help yourself the most.
  10. Drivers you don´t rest on the ground ideally so there it shouldn´t matter much. Some drivers have adjustable hosels where you can change lie to experiment with but I don´t find that crucial like with irons. I am 187 cm have about 95 cm from wrists to floor and am quite fine with stock lengths on my fairway woods. You may feel you have to bend the knees a bit to much instead of bending over which can make it a bit harder to rotate possibly as it limits your motion. Try buy used locally so you can try how it works if you can hit it fine with the face square to the ground while still being enough upright. Longer shafts is harder to control for me so for me I rather bend the knee a little bit more then go for a touch longer shafts. I don´t have any real problem at setup with my woods. Run Ping G400 14.5 degree 3wood currently and used orlimar Trimetals 3 and 5wood before.
  11. It tend to be quite expensive but few golf courses actually require real golf clothes. Never seen any dress code in writing on my golf course heck I tend to be the most properly dressed and I dont care. I use them for the comfort and practicality but yeah no 38$ bargains
  12. It would be tough for sure. I knew nothing when I started. Was introduced by my brother. He helped me the most while being a +20 handicapper. Then Green card with our golf pro aiding further. Had plenty of time to study since then.
  13. I am not trolling just because I dont agree with you
  14. Editor's Note: these posts were moved from a few different topics. The moderation team felt that they didn't further the discussion in their original topics, so, they've been moved here. Links back to the original posts in quoted text will still take you to the original topic. You arent a beginner forever.
  15. It´s absolutely true. You couldn´t teach me anything I am quite sure 🙂 Yes no argue there. Read the basics part?
  16. V2 did look monstruous. Never had it. V3 is same size as my motorola smart watch or most regular watches I owned. A tad thicker so that part is okay don´t feel obstructive. Maybe went overboard with the automation. I mean really cool idea just be able to walk along but yes hope I can find a procedure where it does constantly tag my clubs. I know they are working on new firmware to improve the odds. First round was over 90 % at least and putter system worked fine at automatic with pin collect. Adding a manual mode where you select club before each shot or where you can see on the watch when a club is found and then shoot would be great. Also scorecard functionality so no need for paper and pen. Doesn´t seem like you can go back and see how many shots got registered.
  17. Well I have had lessons. Absolutely helps what I mean is just that when you learned the basics there is little point you can fine tune the rest yourself with ease. It´s your body nobody knows it better.
  18. I tried the test on the tags and wonder if they go by angle? Had to hold clubs like when on adress for it to register.
  19. After having learned the basics there is little point in lessons. Better spend the time on the practise range or spend the time on youtube spending nothing. May have some money over for actually playing golf and learn that way.
  20. I got the shot scope V3 today and it´s my first golf watch! Absolutely loved it its so much quicker then having to take up the binocular but if you want distance to the pin the gps can´t do that. But you can often calculate a bit from the front middle back numbers so I may just save weight and leave my range finder at home. Never the numbers felt wrong the dual gps setup seem to do what it´s supposed to. Seems doubtful it´s possible to do 36 holes with it though. 18 should never be an issue though. Btw any recommendations to make sure the shots are counted? They recommend a lot of practise swings but I don´t want to tire myself. Is it just putting the tag against the watch and it register I am using that club? Need I go silly on my wedges when I just want to chip the ball 😄 I made life hard on myself using a chipper. I am going to replace it so didn´t put a tag on it made for quite some editing. But it also appear to miss some other shots.
  21. Head at the same height and never loose track of the ball is pretty much the only concious things I do when hitting irons. Driver there is more I need to do. Sometimes when my Iron play is good I get the feel I can swing without these thoughts but without hardly any exception severly punished everytime. I find it amazing what corrections is automatically done with balltracking and keep head in the same place.
  22. Yeah jesus christ almighty. Took the chipper out on the course today and it saved me three shots in 9 holes. So easy. Chipper forever in the bag from now on here 🙂 I am still cooler then most people because I carry my own clubs. It compensate well for my GI irons with power holes wilson D7 and my chipper which many straight out laugh when it comes out 😄
  23. Thanks. Make me sound good then lol. To be serious I think I averaged 4 on chip and putting last two rounds per hole... That includes a hole where I was on the green on two and managed to putt me out of it 😛 But I never skull the ball lol
  24. Did you use a putting stroke? Is it possible to skull? In heavy rough I can see it´s possible 😄 I never skull my putter 🙂
  25. Planning to try a cleveland smart sole out soon. My chipping need to be foolproofed. Practise fine but on the course mental blocks and the fear of duffing make me duff or hit the ball across the green in fear. I have a dirt cheap chipper I experimented with before and it works on decent lies and produce better results then good chips with the putting stroke. Pitches is fine there you can have somewhat of a natural swing and just use the club weight to direct where to hit the ball. I do hope the weight of the smart sole make it´s range far superior to my old chipper and a bit less then a one trick pony.
