  1. Actually, the X-Out Pro V1 ball are conforming. Just like the Pro V1 Practice balls... S-
  2. For my b-day: "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, Orville Redenbacher, Barbara Stanwyck, Ginger Rogers, Max McGee, Margaret Court, Ron Yary, Terry Pendleton, Phoebe Cates, Will Ferrell, Barry Sanders, Corey Feldman, and Adam Scott. S-
  3. Excuse me, but the TaylorMade R7 TP is not a forged iron. It is most certainly a cast iron. S-
  4. To add to my last post: If anything, the runway is effectively shorter because of the increase in frictional drag in the wheel bearings. In other words, the forward thrust of the propeller(s) has to overcome that additional wheel bearing friction. It's not much, but it's there.... S-
  5. What stats would those be? S-
  6. Voiceontapex, If you think the runway is any longer than it actually is, you don't get it. S-
  7. Folks, The bottom line is that this is a trick question. Kind of like asking if England has the 4th of July.... It so simple it stupid. Here is the text again: A plane is standing on a runway that can move (some sort of large conveyor belt). The plane moves in one direction, while the conveyor moves in the opposite direction. The conveyor has a control system that tracks the plane's speed and tunes the speed of the conveyor to be exactly the same, but in the opposite direction. Will the plane take off? The conveyor belt does not start moving until the plane does. So the plane has forward momentum as the belt starts moving. This is not important really but it makes things more clear. Keep in mind that the wheels roll and have very little wheel bearing friction. The plane is pulling itself forward through the air, not by pushing off the conveyor belt. Re-read that sentence again. Assuming the wheel friction is normal, the plane will accelerate as it pulls itself forward through the air and will take off just fine. But the wheels will be spinning twice as fast as the plane is traveling right until take off. The trick part of the question is that it is posed in a way that makes you think the conveyor belt will prevent the plane from moving forward. That is not the case. Another way to look at the problem that might make it easier to understand.: Build a 20 foot conveyor belt system that is 12 feet high on one end and 2 feet high at the other. Build it with 6" high walls. Build it so these walls have sensors that can determine how fast as object is moving from top to bottom and can adjust the belt speed accordingly. With the conveyor system on, get a skateboard and put at the top and let go of it. What happens? It rolls down the belt to the bottom. Why? The acceleration force of gravity is greater than the friction in the bearings. S-
  8. No. Players on Pro Tours will have to use wedges that conform to the new rules starting in 2010. S-
  9. Who cares? And what does it matter or prove? I don't get polls like this.... S-
  10. I was a Mizuno guy until I hit the AP2 irons. I was all set to buy the MP-57 irons but my instructor wanted me to hit the AP2 irons before I ordered them. I have been using DG shafts and tried the AP2 irons with PX and DG shafts. I liked the AP2 irons with DGS300 shafts better than the MP-57 irons with DGS300 shafts. But I really liked the AP2 irons with PX 5.5 shafts! The AP2 irons provide all the feedback the MP-57 irons do, but in a less harsh manor. I know where on the face I hut the ball. The AP2 irons are more forgiving in general but most especially on toe hits. With the tungsten Nickel sole, the AP2 laughs off slightly thin hits. I can work the ball either direction. The only knock is that it is slightly more difficult to hit low shots with AP2 irons compared to the MP-57 irons. But only slightly.... I've had the AP2 irons for about two moths and I am not one bit sorry I got them over the MP-57 irons. S-
  11. I have a Nike Sumo² 3 Wood (15º) with Aldila VS Proto 65 Stiff shaft. This club does not have any draw issues for me. If I swing properly, I get a nice straight shot. If I release a little better than usual I get a slight draw. The Sumo² 3 Wood is not setup for a person that needs help with a fade or a slice. The face is square and there is little offset. S-
  12. The good news is that Titleist is coming out with a fitting cart for the new drivers and will have interchangeable heads and shafts. I don't know how many different shafts the card will have, but this is very good news. S-
  13. There is no single answer to the question, "Are Scotty Cameron putters worth it?". For some, the answer is an emphatic "Yes!". For others, it is an absolute "No!". Some people are going to be on the fence or leaning slightly one way or the other. Each person must make up their own mind based on what is important to them. Expressing opinions on their value as fact, one way or the other, is folly. What we can do is offer reasons why we feel the putters are worth or not worth what they cost. But we must keep in mind that those reasons may not make sense to someone else and ridiculing someone because of that is bad form. S-
  14. I spent $279 on my C & L Milled CL-I putter. I just bought a brand TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider putter for $150. S-
  15. I bought new irons a while back. AP2 irons replaced my MX-25 irons. I am extremely happy with the change. S-
  16. Just because a shaft works well for you does not mean you should be recommending that shaft as the shaft to use for everyone else. It's perfectly fine to say you like a shaft, but a shaft that is great for you might be just plain horrible for me and 10 other players reading your comments. S-
  17. The 762 DCI irons are cavity backs. http://www.titleist.com/historical_c...p?id=73&bhcp;=1 S-
  18. I just bought a Titleist X86 stand bag and think it is awesome. The strap system is great. It weighs just a bit over 4 lbs. and has plenty of storage. The bag is easy to carry and stand system works well. I highly recommend the Titleist X86 stand bag! S-
  19. srjorion, That's a great point. I did that to test out cord grips. I loved them from the first shot and now do not like non-cord grips at all. The only club in my bag that does not have a cord grip is my putter. S-
  20. Cord grips have thread "cords" (i.e. strands of fabric) embedded in the grips. These grips provide more grip in more wether conditions than any other kind of grip. They also provide excellent feed back due to their firmness. S-
  21. Also, I am not looking for comfort from my grips. I am looking for a grip that lets me have a nice relaxed grip, in any weather, on the club and that provides good feedback. I don't get that from non-cord grips. I don't like the Winn grips because they provide very little feel and suck whne wet. S-
  22. One side benefit of cord grips is you find out real fast if you are doing something wrong with how you grip your clubs. I have Titleist (Golf Pride) cord grips on my irons and Lamkin cord grips on my woods, hybrids, and wedges. I don't have many callouses on my hands. My glove of choice is the FJ Weather-soft. I get about 24 rounds out of each glove. S-
  23. Sure I did. But that doesn't change what I wrote, and what "bigoak" backed up, one iota. The torque value of a shaft cannot be determined by shaft flex. They are totally separate design parameters. A XX flex shaft could have a torque of 4.0 and a Senior flex shaft could have a torque of 2.0. S-
  24. That's the point. There is no "default". You can make no assumptions about shaft torque based on stiffness. S-
  25. The shaft's ability to resist twisting and its ability to resist bending are different design parameters. It is possible to have XX Stiff shaft with a high torque rating and to have Ladies flex shaft with a very low torque rating. In other words, low torque does not necessarily mean stiff. S-
