Pop Quiz: Hank Haney Turning in a Circle
B Keller replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
That's what I try to do. The top of A and C he has what I would consider a serious chicken wing thing going on. I think I like the left arm position of C with the right arm of B. And with that, I introduce FrankenHaney.... -
What's the least amount of putts per 18 holes?
B Keller replied to ks8829's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
My best is 33 putts and scored a 108. Horray for slicing on the tee box and hosel rockets with the wedges.... -
I haven't done THAT before, but when I have two or three bad shots in a row I don't get angry. I just don't care anymore for that hole. It is usually the next shot that is my best of the round...like a round I played in December. Hooked my tee shot into a housing addition. Topped my next to the next tee box 15 yards up. Proceeded to putt 3 wood and not care. 297 yards later (downhill) my ball was left of the green. Knocked it into the sand trap. A sand shot and two putts later I made my 8.

A few years ago I was playing at a short University course near me. I was a single and got paired with a couple other guys. One of them was just there to enjoy golf, but you would have thought the other guy thought he was a pro. If something wasn't right he swore. If he hit a bad shot, he swore. Somewhere around hole 12 or 13 he hit a bad drive, and as we were walking up the fairway he breaks the club over his knee while yelling, "F*** you God!" The other guy looked at him, and then me with a "I'm sorry" type look on his face.

Pop Quiz: Hank Haney Turning in a Circle

Did anyone see in the latest Haney Project he told Romano, and I quote, "The most important thing in golf...is distance." Really? -
Two new posts up. One is about some inserts I have put into my shoes. The other is I have been asked to become, and have become a staff player for the store that I did my fitting at. I am stoked about it!

Had a 40 yard chip that i left 9" from the hole. Good day with the putter too. Had a 22', 40', and three 55' putts that I left inside 15".

You are absolutely correct, but it is still high quality equipment that comes in right on the specs that it is supposed to be.
-
I had never seen anything but "bogey" until a couple of days ago when I saw "bogie" and "boogie" the same day.
-
That's a good point. I used to tally up my stats at the turn but realized that it put more pressure on me as I got to 16 or so. Then I would press and implode missing all my goals. Now I don't do any math until I am in the car and ready to leave.

I would say that $20-30 is low for a legitimate fitter. I know if happens a lot around my area, but I've never been to one so I can't give you any insight there. I don't know if this guy is close to you but it may be worth the phone call: http://www2.cybergolf.com/sites/cour...566&page;=31199

I've had no problems with my unit, but the fact that it is taking so long tells me one of two things: 1 - There is a bug that they are having a devil of a time fixing 2 - They are lazy Don't know which I'd rather have....

Turn my back to the sound, duck my head, and put my hands over my neck and head.

Interesting...I struggle going out and play better coming in. Today I went 55/48=101. Of course I did take a 12 on #3....... Still even a triple bogey 8 is 51/48.

If I could get my drives to consistently end at 250 with the occasional 250 carry I would be very happy.

Very nice seeing Wigan get their second ever win over a Big 4 club today. 1-0 today over Liverpool and 3-1 early in the season over Chelsea.
-
And is that truly a fitting anyway?

I played in a scramble today and had a few great shots along with several more I'd like to forget. 3 of my best were: #7 was a 178 yard par 3. I sent a 5 iron 175 and was 10' from the hole. Birdie putt was 3" short, but still a real good par for me and my game. On 17 I had 206 yard uphill and into the wind shot to a back pin. On flat ground with no wind I expect 215 out of my 4 wood so I was just hoping to get it to the front, middle of the green at best. I don't think I could have hit it any better and wound up with a 215 yard shot over the back of the green. Then on 18 I had 185 to the pin with the wind helping. I took my 4 hybrid and aimed dead at the flag and again hit nutted it. I managed a baby draw that wound up on the left side fringe hole high. A straight shot there is inside 3'. My group started on 8 and the closest to the pin hole was on 14. I was the first person to hit the green (about 40' away) and only 2-3 got inside my shot. Tough hole location but I was proud that nearly 15 groups had gone through the hole before me and I was the first on.

What is DSLRU? For what its worth, I use the first generation Canon Rebel DSLR in my line of work. It does what I need it to do, uses CF cards, good price, and very durable.
-
Don't worry about that. Just know it does...somehow....

It isn't as much as you'd think and there are places that will either not charge for the fitting or at least charge less for it if you buy from them. And if I am reading your post right and you are still in high school you could also see if there is anyone your coach knows.

I would go somewhere who is going to do this be something very similar: IPAC’s 7 Step Clubfitting Process: Interview & Performance Profile: An in-depth study of your game, your history, your physical capabilities, your skills and a review of your goals, preferences and expectations. Evaluation of your Current Equipment: The evaluation includes an analysis of what clubs are working for you and what clubs are not, with an explanation of "why" by your professional fitter. Static Measurement: A complete evaluation of your physical measurements, body type, swing plane and tempo. Ball Launch Analysis: A session on a launch monitor to track all aspects of your swing and ball flight with a thorough evaluation of spin rates, dispersion patterns, ball speed, and other critical factors. Equipment Trial: Selection of the right clubhead for maximizing your performance and for assuring centeredness of hit. Selection and testing of the correct shaft in the right cpm frequency for your swing speed and tempo. Custom Build: Precision building of your custom fit clubs to the exact specifications as ordered by your Professional Fitter, including frequency matching every shaft within 1 cpm, head and back-end weighting, precision altered loft and lie angles, shaft spining, bend points and weight sorting. Post Fit Check Up: Follow up consultation to track your progress with your new clubs and to make any adjustments if necessary. http://www.ipacgolf.com/sites/course...566&page;=29465 I don't know anyone in Illinois, but I know someone who should know a qualified fitter if you would like me to check.

I finally got pics of the new bag up on my blog. I also get to play on Saturday too, so I am very happy about getting out with the new clubs.
