I am going into the golf business. Right now, I am finishing up my degree and then most likely either attending PGCC or the Golf Academy of America. I almost went out to UNLV for their PGA Management Program, but I ended up going to college here in Michigan and now I'm playing college golf. I interned last summer at a golf club. I worked around 30-40 hours a week, and was involved in every aspect of the business there. The only disadvantage for me was staying at the course to play after you've been there all day. To me, that is the kind of disadvantage that I want with my career. I loved getting up early every morning and driving to work while the sun was rising. It was so awesome to be able to talk golf with everyone you come into contact with. The deals you can get working under a PGA Pro are awesome. The best part of the job were the times you did get to golf. On days off you can spend the morning golfing for free. If you really have the itch to play even after working 6-4, you can. I usually managed my time by golfing on days off and when I had the time on days I worked. When I worked long days, I just hit a couple bags of balls for an hour and then left. IMO, I think you should give it a shot. If you don't like it, then you can always find something else. It is definitely worth a try, especially for someone whose passion is the game of golf.

Re-read my post. In the Bible it says that man was created in the image of God.. so I'm assuming God would somewhat resemble a human, or a man. I was trying to state the obvious that evolution tells us we came to be from something that previously existed. This completely contradicts what I believe in my Christian faith: "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. -- Genesis 1:27. The Bible doesn't tell us that humans came to be over billions of years. Because of this, Christians cannot believe in evolution because it DOES contradict our faith and belief in God.

In the Christian faith and in the Bible, we believe that God created man in His own image. Evolution contradicts this by saying we were formed from apes.. so by evolution stating something that doesn't agree with the Christian faith, it is therefore contradicting it.

That becomes a problem when a Christian tries to justify their faith with facts.

Silzildrummer, I don't agree with the Pope. Evolution contradicts the Bible and the Christian faith, I'll leave it at that.

msd3075, I respect your post and understand it. The thing is, God tells me to have faith, not facts. I don't need to see Him to believe in Him. I live by faith, not by facts.

What is believing? There are so many people that say they believe in Jesus. The way I see it, how can you believe in Jesus and not listen to what He commands? Sure, you can believe that he was a man that lived on the earth, but that doesn't mean you believe he died and was risen from the dead. My point is that when you truly believe Jesus died for you so that you would be forgiven and have eternal life.. there is no possible way you will go on living your life for the things of this world or not trying to obey everything He says. Jesus said no one comes to the Father except through Him. If that is true, then I'm going to live my life honoring and obeying hiim because I want to get to my Father, God. You can call me radical, extreme, or whatever you want. You can tell me my interpretation isn't the only one. I don't believe God put me on this earth to question Him . I use my "powers of observation and rational thought" every single day. I look at my family and rationally think that there is no way that God doesn't exist. I rationally think about the ways my life has changed in the past couple months and realize God is with me and all these things aren't by chance. How can I possibly be disgracing God by obeying Him?

How does your statement asking me to go buy a dinosaur at the zoo have any credibility at all in this discussion? Shanks a million, a Christian believes that the Bible is the literal Word of God. You cannot be a Christian and not believe everything the Bible says.. it isn't possible. Christians believe that God's Word is perfect, and that God wrote the Bible. So to a Christian, the Bible is perfect and without error. "And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person's share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book." -- Revelation 22:18-19. The Bible wouldn't state that right at the end if by chance the Bible was wrong. Choosing to follow Christ and believe in God is all about FAITH. It is not about facts. Like I said before.. NO ONE has all the answers. I don't care if the smartest man on the planet tells me that rocks make the universe a trillion years old.. I have my FAITH in my GOD and that is what I live by.

That is true. The majority of statements calling Christians idiots and basically stupid have been about how we believe what the Bible says over what science tells us. I believe that the Bible was written by God through man, and I believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God. To me, it is more than just a book. I can understand the point you make about not wanting religion involved with public schools. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and I have a personal relationship with Him. Being a Christian does not mean going to church on Sundays, reading your Bible whenever you feel like it, and praying constantly for different things or for help. Being a Christian means living your life for the same cause Jesus did. Being a Christian means loving God above all else and making Him your number one priority.

Believing in Jesus Christ is a decision. It is a lifestyle choice. It is FREE WILL. Jesus said that we were going to be persecuted for following Him, and I believe that. As far as science goes, I'll trust my Lord before I trust anything that a human thinks. I don't disagree with the fact that science is crucial to life, but science is from God. The point is, people who don't know God just don't understand. I have had so many things happen in my life in the last year and I know they have all been from God. I was at a point in my life where I needed direction.. I asked God to reveal something to me and I opened up my Bible and read, "The Lord Says, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life, I will advise you and watch over you." -- Psalm 32:8. I choose to believe that those words were to me from God, while many of you will choose to believe it was just a coincidence. My family is completely different since my sister and I accepted Jesus. It just amazes me how people think I'm an idiot or basically stupid for believing that "there is a man floating in the sky." I don't understand how you can be so rude. I'm not making fun of you for not believing, I'm trying to do my job as a Christian and be a witness to others.. its your choice whether or not to believe.

I care what the Bible says, and so do all other Christians. Yes, the Bible was written by humans, but God spoke through those humans and used them to write it for Him. The Bible says in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word is Jesus Christ. That wasn't intended for you to criticize my beliefs. It was written from one person to another out of kindness and admiration. That is a BIG deal and I don't appreciate the fact that you are trying to use what I said to justify your beliefs towards myself and other Christians.

I have always been a Sergio Garcia fan. I know he has an attitude and I don't like the way he carries himself on the course sometimes, but I love his passion for the game. It just stinks that he is on the other Ryder Cup team. I have always loved his swing and the way he plays. I'm a TMaG fan so that helps too! My other favorites are Sean O'Hair, AK, and Dustin Johnson. For all time golfers, it is definitely Jack Nicklaus. When I was about 8 years old, my dad took me to the Senior Players Championship at TPC Michigan. We were waiting for him to come out of the clubhouse to make his way over to #1. When he came out, all the reporters and everyone else rushed at him. There were so many people around him. He somehow saw me and said, "Let the little guy through." I made my way to him and he autographed my program. Being that young, I knew who he was but didn't really understand how great he was. Now looking back on that, I just have so much respect for the man and the way he played the game. He is truly the greatest of all time.

I'm grooving my swing right now and it is starting to feel great. I can't wait until the first 60+ degree day. I am going to concentrate mainly on putting and short game this season.

I read your response and wanted to give you this verse because it answers why billions of people will not be in Heaven. These are not my words, but the Word of God. That verse is my passion for witnessing to others about Jesus Christ. It is free will that enables people to choose to believe or not. I believe God's Word. I believe that when He says only a few ever find it, He literally means a few ever find it. Since I believe this, I want to share this with as many people as I can.. it is their choice to accept or reject it. I saw that you are a cancer survivor and just want to let you know how thankful I am for that. That is truly a blessing!

As Christians, we believe that the Gospel is true. The Gospel tells us that those who do not believe will not be in Heaven. The Bible tells us that we will be persecuted for our beliefs, just as they persecuted Jesus.. but the Bible also tells us to rejoice in this because that much greater will our reward be in Heaven. The reason I feel it is necessary to share my beliefs with others is because it is my job as a Christian.
