Yep I only buy golf balls there. I let someone else pay for the depreciation fee of brand new Titleist balls, and I actually like Logos now an again. The rich guys hit'em in the woods, and someone goes and gets them for me, and charges me 1/2 price..I can do that! To each their own, but funds are limited, so I'd rather spend that $ on greens fees at decent courses.

I've seen this same thing mentioned a few times...... The ONLY differences between what Overton did and what the "Beloved" GMac, McIlroy, Molinari, and Poulter did was hole out while WATCHING it for an Eagle from the Fairway, the mics were trained on HIM and Bubba ALONE, he was NOT in a crazy crowd like the others when it happened on the greens. The "Beloved" ones listed above ALL screamed at the top of their lungs, but were drowned out by the din of the crowd for the most part. Tiger didn't even know his went in because he didn't see it, someone told him afterward. He may have been a lil over the top, but a Eagle from the FW, while watching it, in competition on rival soil, must be very very exciting....... I saw the Molinaris screaming like they did something big after a measley typical 5' putt, they would scream and pump their fists and whip the crowd into a frenzy, the golden boy Rory was screaming so loud I could hear him above the raucous crowd, then he went on a stampede on the green just about tearing GMacs arm off- at LEAST once. Same with GMac. Everyone is acting like he's a loser and the "Classy" Euros were perfect, get real I heard folks laughing and clapping on misses, and I saw a women on the back of 17 even imploring a ball of the Americans to roll off the back of the green.

Very Disappointing to lose the Cup after just getting it back, I don't wanna start blaming specific folks or anything, but that was some pathetic golf by some on the American squad. It's really too bad that you HAVE to select the top 8 $ winners, some of those guys really don't fit the format well. Attire and Rainsuits were just ridiculous, not a fan of Pavin at all.
-
No, we had to listen to some clown yell "Mashed Potatos" a couple of times instead....including during a chip shot.....bah
-
I don't think Philly could even beat one of the Molinaris. He's probably the worst player out of the 24 competing, with Dustin Johnson right behind him. Pavin had those 2 together, and he kept mumbling to himself that they'd be alright. I'm also not a fan of Pavin as a Captain.
-
Woods and Stricker had better play better in their singles match, cuz that was beyond pathetic.
-
The American Capts. need to get out there and calm the team, they are getting EMBARRASSED.
-
Fruity purple sweaters with Pinstripe Bell Bottoms. Yuck
-
Those Rory wigs crack me up, he actually had fun with that too, so it was amusing.
-
Kuchar and DJ struggling. Cink was a Captains pick, and he's carrying Kuchar around
-
Couldn't have been, her short game was pathetic, and that's giving her credit.

OK elimination Lili Chris Taryn I say Taryn, with Chris 2nd worst....Lili will move on.
-
That's what I wanna see too, I can see Sarah SEETHING when Carling starts dancing..she may even break a club on National TV.
-
Been rather bummin', the best looking ladies all get the boot, if Carling blows it there will be no reason to watch it anymore! Carling can do that girly dance all she wants, and I hope she does it all the way through the finale....I don't mind that she seems a wee bit conceited, she's confident....doesn't need to swing like Big John though. Who do I want to see go tonight...hmmmmmmmm.... Seema, Chris, Taryn, Lili.....in any order...nothing personal ladies Sarah swears and throws stuff, that's always good for a laugh....I'm waiting for the big blowup......it's only a show, so I don't care what she does.

Extending the Right Knee on the Backswing
muzz replied to Zeph's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I don't straighten my right leg and I have no issue driving the ball. Most of those pictures CLEARLY show flex in their knees, Hogan never told ya to straighten it, IIRC it was more along the lines of loading it, using it as a brace to resist against( which I find useful btw)....last but not least most of these guys know just a smidge more than a 15 handicap. -
I was under the impression that S&T; was supposed to be 'easier" to get consistent contact, and with having to do all this thrusting and launching, as well as all the tilting, it just seems like a different set of timing issues. All I know is the more I read on here and the book, the less I am convinced that moving to a different set of timing issues is going to make hitting a golf ball any easier(FOR ME), it just seems like trading one set of problems for a different set......... Not sure I'm going to screw around with this, it'll just make my normal ugly/inconsistent swing even more difficult to get back to.....I'm actually very concerned with the continual problems alot of folks have hitting FW/Driver, as that isn't an issue for me and I don't want it to become one. I appreciate all the input folks have posted, at least I was able to see the issues before spending alot of time on it.
-
I bought the book and read almost all of it, but I have some concerns....... One of the issues with the "Traditional" swing is the timing of the weight shift/slide left to right, but it sounds like this has timing issues to deal with as well, as you are told to "push" forward and "up" (launch). Won't both of these end moves create timing issues, as pushing up too fast will cause thin shots, just like sliding to far/mistiming to the right can cause "fat" shots. Am I imagining this?

Golf Evolution Schools/Seminars/Classes Master Thread
muzz replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
BTW. if this helps- The golf learning center I mentioned above does Demo days all the time, almost once a week in the summer(They host for Joe and Leighs). They have it setup where the left 1/5 of the range is for the demo area(only on days with demos of course- left of the lesson area), so it can easily be made seperate as they are used to that, they just tell folks not to use the left edge- there is plenty of room for them to the right. -

playing without a glove
muzz replied to clearwaterms's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I've always had a glove in my bag, but hardy ever use it. 3 rds ago I took it out of my bag before the Rd and put it in my back pocket......well I'm looking at it right now on my desk because I took it out of my pocket after never even putting it on that day....seems I'm not to worried about it. I've used them off/on over the years, but at least 80% of the time I play without one......I also hate trying to remember to take it off, put it on, take it off........ -
I personally believe that 100 yds and in are important, so I want to be able to spin the ball, and a softer ball like the V1 work well for me. There isn't a HUGE difference in distance, but spin is another matter entirely. You can buy QUALITY Mint condition/Used balls at a place like lostballs.com for as much as garbage balls new, and most of the ones you get are in pretty much brand new condition. I don't buy new balls, a waste of $ IMO.
-
EXACTLY!! "Mint" (I'm betting they are brand new) Raptures for 90% of us here).
-
I just played with my "Mint" Raptures that I just bought from Ebay/GPPGolf, and I will go out on a limb and say that even though they SAY that they were "Mint', my guess is they were actually BRAND NEW (but probably can't call them that because they cost

Keeping the clubs in the trunk all the time? Bad Idea?
muzz replied to Bullitt5339's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I never take my clubs out of the trunk unless they are going out to play. Never EVER had an issue with heads flying off, grips getting wrecked, or balls turning into a square. Wives tales. -
Do you wear a glove when playing golf?
muzz replied to Zeph's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I hardly ever wear one.
