  1. Yea like the other posters said wedges are really about personal preference, no one over another will give you something better, untill you get better at ball striking. I would say go with the cheaper one's untill you know excatly what you like. Me personly have to have wedges with a rounded leading edge, it just seems with the straighter edge I'll tend to chunk it more.
  2. I have a question you could ask yourself, what kind of swing do I have, are you a sweeper type? digger type? or somewhere inbetween? this has a great effect on what bounce you should be using. If you are a sweeper you want lower bounce if a digger higher. Did your pro actually watch you swing? How much of a divot do you take? if it's shallow your a sweeper, deeper your a digger, hope this helps.
  3. lol excatly...!! even funnier..was watching golf yesterday on the golf channel..and Brian Moog was talking abot the low flying chip that hops a few and check's up..precided to explain how and at the end hit the shot..only (and correct me if i'm wrong) it did not do what it was susposed to..!! looked like a regular pitch chip to me????? Anyone else see this???
  4. Love the Vegas one..!! sweet... money..!!
  5. How would you compare the distance of the two? Do you think the Trispeed is as long or close?
  6. I have an older C-130 and love it..!
  7. How do the two compare the "Trispeed" & "AD333"?? I used the AD333 last weekend (only had one) and was impressed by the distance atleast 1 club longer (flew the first 2 greens) but didn't really get a chance to see what kind of spin (as I lost it to the woods..dam 3w..!!) So i'm intrestred in picking some up but would like to know how the two compared distance and spin and feel wise, thanks in advance.
  8. I would suspect it's only true if you didn't wipe your clubs off be for putting them on? I've been using them for years and my dad even longer and neither have ever had a problem,(both my sets are forged) and trust me my dad is super anal about keeping them like new as I kinda am too it's how I was taught..!! So I would defiently recomend them.! I personaly use the neopreen type ones there not big and chuncky like some others.
  9. Acutally I just played on of these sunday for the first time..and I will say it is looong..!! atleast one club longer..flew the green first 2 holes and then then hit a 5I 195 (5I is usually 180 or so) The only thing I'm not sure of is if it's gonna be enough spinn?? lost in the woods on next hole..stupid 3w..!!! I've read a bunch of reviews and alot of people knock the spinn on this ball as not being the best.
  10. I use a little black scrub bottle filled with soap and water (made for golf) after each shot then wiped dry with a towl then back into iron covers..takes 20 seconds..at home about every third time used I clean with plastic scrub brush, soap and water and use it on the grips as well, then towl dry ( don't listen to these people who say soap and water will ruin your grips, been doing this for years and my dad has been even longer..!! never a problem!!! not washing them will ruin them much faster..!!! I would put my 19yr & 9yr clubs up against anyone!!! I have no doubt either looks better than some with clubs only a couple years old..!!!
  11. I second this..!!! I love them perfect blend of everything, tacky, soft but yet firm enough for feed back. Don't know about the 2.79?? I paid 3.49 at Golfsmith but still a steal for this kind of grip at that price. The other thing I love about them is the standard size is a little bigger then say Golfpride standard, with just one wrap of the 2 sided tape they fit perfect in between regular standard and mid size.
  12. Umm yea actually the OP did ask for a ball that spins less, he said the Pro V was too much, check again? And I was jus stating that because I thought it was intresting that 1x spins more than v1 on half wedge shots..!!
  13. Yea it really helped me, takes out all the" am I turning hips enough" thoughts and trying to feel as you swing...!
  14. Did any one see the new golf digest ball review, it actually shows the pro v 1x spinns more than pro v1 on half wegde shots? To the OP Taylormade Black's are a good choice they spin the most of any ball in that price range but not as much as Pro v's...
  15. Never a good Idea, that is for range time not the course..! I keep it simple when playing just a couple thoughts, slow steady take away, full turn, and belt buckle facing target..!!!
  16. I had this problem too and it even sneakes in once in awhile, mainly because of weight shift, The thought I use is get you belt buckle facing at the target..! this will help with getting the proper weight shift through the ball..
  17. lol I'm just like you Mike, never use them more than 3 times without cleaning them, also have waxed them too. I would probably not pay attention to the the post about not using soap and water our grips are not 100% rubber they are a synthic blend SO I certanly not use Alcohol on them.!!
  18. GP Tour Velvets are awesome grips, especially for the price, alot of the tour pros use them and they get stuff for free..!! I've used them untill this year I switched to Itomic Tacki-mac grips "sweetest grips ever" perfect!!!
  19. Check set up, make sure back foot is not up futher than front, and try to swing the club a little more inside on the back swing, and also can try dropping back foot a little back than front..
  20. As said be for sounds like a spin issue, try different tee heights, or swing a little easier, I know that if I go after it a little harder I get the same ball flight as you said..the easier the swing the longer it goes..!
  21. I'm just curious what yardage ranges do you use it??
  22. Not saying he isn't good, has a very nice swing, but I wouldn't copy his set up, if you pause it, left arm is slightly bent and hands are behind the ball, not what you want for an iron, driver maybe, jus my .02..
  23. I'm with him, if it's just a small fade then by all means just play for it..!
  24. So true, it just makes me laugh watching guys hit ball after ball not even barly letting it land be for bangging another one out there..!! For you higher handicapers it is a must that you pick a target when at the range, weather it be a flag, yardage sign or even a patch of grass thats different color. Know where you miss is most likely to be and then play for it.
  25. To the OP I'm the same way, I don't take much of a divot either, just a little one on shorter clubs. Seems when I try to take a bigger one I don't hit it as solidly. So I just roll with it, I probably don't get as much spin as others that do, but on a positive side I'm able to hit my longer irons better than most (because of the sweeping motion) and also good for fairway bunker play as sweeping motion is needed their too. So I'd say if you hit the ball well and have the distance you like just play that way. You just have to play for a little more roll out when hitting into green.
