  1. Oh absolutely I agree! He was so close, a lot of credit goes to Cink for catching up and forcing that playoff. I think it demoralized Watson, because he kind of fell apart after that. Or with his age he was just so tired, you know how you get at the end of a run, when you know you're almost done? Exhausted.
  2. This has been great so far. Wish it was being broadcast in high def on my computer though! Can't believe Watson is at the top through his 18, if Padraig or Woods can't take it, I sure hope he can keep it up through the next 3 rounds! What a story, would be oldest Majors champion of all-time!
  3. I think too that the forward divot is from having a steeper angle of attack. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. This is something I plan to work on at the range over the next few weeks as well. Adjusting the position of the ball so my swing arc doesn't bottom out behind it, having a slightly steeperr angle rather than feeling like I'm "scooping" the ball etc.
  4. This could have been my quote, I feel and am doing, the same!
  5. surprisingly real and candid.
  6. I'm lucky I guess, they seem to have gotten my info correct. I guess it's who you talk to there. I just joined a few weeks ago, buying an Adams hybrid, so am about 40 pts short of 300. Guess I better go buy some apparel, hmm I do need some better shoes.
  7. Yeah I understand too, he did say that earlier in the quote, but then he said something that really sounds contradictory, and sounds more like he was saying that Tiger ISN'T great, just very good! I dunno.......
  8. yes he does imply that Tiger isn't great, he says: "Tiger is obviously better than good. I've seen great." So he's saying Tiger is really good, but not great.
  9. That sounds like a good lesson! Sign me up!
  10. I agree. I can see the comparison with Nicklaus, but to say that Lee Trevino and Tom Watson are basically way ahead of Tiger's skill level, come on.
  11. It started off just buying a 19* hybrid two weeks ago at Golf Galaxy, but has now morphed into an outrageously out-of-control spending-spree on Ebay and Craigslist! I have now changed out my whole bag, minus the driver and putter I already replaced last year. I had some clubs my dad gave me, some no-name brand stuff, and now have a pretty mixed bag of some decent stuff I'd say! On a personal note, if I am found dead of natural causes over the next few days, don't believe it, call the police because my wife killed me.
  12. This is exactly what I need to work on myself, hitting down on the ball rather than scooping it. My divots, when I even make one, are behind the ball, not in front.
  13. I love this post. Not sure why, just made me laugh.
  14. He'll probably only give you a few things to work on the first time around, not overload you with too much info and feedback, then you'd not know where to start! Slice from what I understand can indeed be from a lot of things, ball position, not releasing your hands, nhaving the clubface too open at address, etc. I'm sure there's more, including the cause(s) of my own slice, but as I'm new to golf, I'll let the more experienced players weigh in on that!
  15. Had a problem loading the tee times yesterday, but everything is working for me today.
  16. I think he's right, I had a half hour lesson last year, and the whole time we worked on grip and stance/setup with the 9i. Was very useful for hitting all of my clubs, even the driver. Hopefully you will find it to work for the big dog too!
  17. I feel you there, I think it's fine I guess, can't pair all the "stars" together, but there are some more interesting pairings out there. 8:56 AM Geoff Ogilvy Luke Donald Martin Kaymer 10:13 AM Ernie Els Anthony Kim Ryo Ishikawa 10:35 AM Phil Mickelson Robert Allenby Y.E. Yang 12:36 PM Kenny Perry Camilo Villegas Rory Mcilroy 1:20 PM Stewart Cink Padraig Harrington Charl Schwartzel * *This last is the pairing I'm most excited about. I sure hope Paddy can pull a win, but Schwartzel is on fire right now!
  18. I agree, not OCD, clinically or otherwise. I clean mine every two or three trips to the range, and after every round as well.
  19. That's funny, I thought it was more like 83.6%
  20. That's useful! Hopefully doesn't deter you from ever having your own though.
  21. Yeah I can understand, I currently wield a X 460 Driver and man that thing makes a distinct sound!
  22. In that case I'll just avoid them all together!
  23. Yeah why is it we have to learn EVERYTHING the hard way! And then when we have kids ourselves (albeit mine is only 2), we still expect them to learn from us instead of making their own mistakes too! Haha, sigh.
  24. hmm good point, it is awfully deep, I can see how that makes it hard to make good contact from the fairway! Is that what is known as a tight lie? Still trying to figure out terminology as well as my swing!
  25. Both great points. Of course the flip-side is that is you choose the clubs for him over the ones that HE wants.........either way you just can't win with these kids today! Good luck to you
