  1. Congrats @Club Rat on the win and thanks for all you are doing to keep the standings....a top shelf guy! Once the playoffs are over, I will set us up with the PGA Tour Fantasy league and we can give that a try too....same type of scoring as TGC with more of a Yahoo way to pick players.
  2. Yes I just pick in ours then import my roster into the main GC pool. Easy to do just in case
  3. Hey CR I ended up 21st overall with the 623. Lost by 25 points or so. Guy who won had winner and 3 others in top 5 I believe.
  4. PGA Fantasy golf is a hybrid of TGC and Yahoo...similar scoring to TGC Salary cap format, and you can get live updates on their app, but like Yahoo you pick six golfers, start 4 and have 2 on the bench you can sub in. PGA has 4 segments, and you can pick each golfer a maximum of 3 times in the segment. PGA starts with the fall season....I play both TGC and PGA....I'd like to get a Sandtrap PGA Fantasy League going in the fall. I will gauge interest in October.
  5. Anyone else get a Yahoo email today saying Yahoo Fantasy golf is back?
  6. Week off, back up at Quail Hollow. I didn't get to watch the Zurich last year....was in Palm Springs golfing....looking forward to watching the team event this year.
  7. I am relegated to hoping the Habs win the Rasmus Dahlin lottery, however, I am intrigued with a few of the round one match ups in the playoffs. Have an Original six battle between Leafs and Bruins, the battle of Pennsylvania with the Flyers and Pens, and LA vs Vegas...could end up a good rivalry because of proximity, and I want to see if the VGK can replicate their regular season success. I would like to see the Preds win it all this year.
  8. Damn I hope the Eagles beat them after Spy Gate...that's right, I'm not over it!
  9. The value of players this week seems disproportionate to last week's event....can get 2 high priced guys then it is slim pickings.....will be interesting.
  10. I think it will take a bit to see what strategy is best in this format; and yes luck is definitely one of them. I went with 2 high priced guys and then 4 lowered, partly because there is not cut this week. I think next week I may try and get 6 middle of the road guys and see how that works out.
  11. I am hoping in this League through TGC that they keep the accumulated stats for a season long competition....all the talk on it talks about weekly contests. We will see next week I guess.
  12. You’re back at first... see keep the dream alive! I also just checked TGC App and there is a Fantasy Golf tab in the menu so much easier on your phone.
  13. I agree untucked hides the gut, but I feel on the golf course Duf would look more like Carl Spackler than a pro.
  14. Ken, There is not a team in the League named Humper, and you would have to remove yourself. Perhaps you are listed as one of the generic Golf Channel numerical entries? As Commissioner, I cannot delete your account; you will have to do it through the Golf Channel. Yup, you have dropped to 6th! Obviously the standings in this League are much more fluid than the old Yahoo league.
  15. I'm fine with it on Rickie who can pull it off. If someone like Dufner was wearing it I'd likely have voted differently!
  16. A good listen from Darren Dreger as it pertains to the Habs right now. Habs needs: Top line centre and top 4 D-Men....ya those are easy to find. https://www.tsn.ca/radio/montreal-690/dreger-pacioretty-asking-price-is-steep-1.958847
  17. I used a 9˚ Ping Rapture that had a blue Aldila shaft (can't remember the model) for about 4 years that I was very fond of. I found it long and forgiving. I now have the G Driver with the Ping tour shaft and find it very similar.
  18. Some interesting testing done on the last 5 years worth of drivers from Taylor Made (20, yes 20, drivers in the last 5 years for the company). They are tested on a launch monitor, and the results show very little gain in the newest drivers. 2014 SLDR actually tested out as the longest and there was a 7 yard gain from the 2012 driver to the 2017 M2. Seems buying a few generations ago equipment will do most of just fine. Similar tests also have been done for the major manufacturers.
  19. I enjoyed the other Playing Lessons series TGC had, but the hosts were never my cup of tea. I am hoping Foley will bring some better insight than they did if they keep a similar format.
  20. Looks like Michael Breed is off the Golf Channel: http://golfweek.com/2018/01/02/the-forecaddie-michael-breed-moves-on-as-golf-channel-switches-up-instruction/ I would tune in once in a while, but his enthusiasm typically got the better of me and I couldn't watch for long. I will be interested to see what The Golf Channel has in mind in terms of its instructional series; I have seen Foley in internet videos. In terms of being hyper, he is polar opposite of Breed.
  21. I am fine with the Price deal; there is the debate of how much cap space to tie up in the position of goalie, but he and Weber are the only elite players we have right now, and we will look at both of their salaries down the road and scratch our heads as they age. I think price's season is a reflection of the poor D in front of him right now. We will be looking at that salary down the road, but Price is still an elite goalie in my opinion. I agree here. When you look at our top 4 D, it is not good. Weber has been hurt, but when Schlemko is your option as his D pairing heading into the season, that's not good. I'd be willing to bet he'd have 10 points and be a minus playing in Montreal right now. I still think Drouin, if he can ever be used properly will help the team offensively I don't agree with spending just to spend, but they opened things up for Alzner, and looking at his stats, the metrics crowd jumped all over this one. Having this money available now makes me believe it is even more important to send Bergevin on his way. He is going to be desperate and I don't want him giving away crazy deals to save his ass. Rumours are Pacioretty is on his way out. He could be the next John Leclerc but over his last 60 games, it isn't working. He has a year left at 4.5 million, will likely get double that as an UFA, so I say trade him now while he has that salary and is more attractive to other teams. If there is a rebuild looming, get rid of Petry too. I like him, but he has a no movement that kicks in July 1.
  22. At least there is the World Juniors to watch this week. Canada gets the Czechs tomorrow, US the Swedes.
  23. Well, haven't been dealing with what the East coast is about to get, but my home course has been shut down for the last 3 weeks due to snow. I live on Vancouver Island, and typically we can play all year round, but last winter was brutal with the course shut down over 80 days, and we are probably up to 4 weeks of closure so far this year. We had a really good fall and the course was in great shape up until US Thanksgiving, and then winter hit. Warming up with rain the next 4 days, so hoping it washes all the snow away and then doesn't come back. Regardless, I am hitting the range tomorrow for the first time in a month and a bit. Course heats the range balls up, so won't be so bad. Good luck to all on in the deep freeze and in the path of the "Weather Bomb" headed for the East.
  24. I like the guy, but Marc Bergevin has to go. He is too far gone on this journey he is taking the Habs on, and doesn't seem willing to admit that he has made some bad deals. Leaving 9 million in cap space on the table this season, with suspect defense and a lack of scoring has me looking to rebuild mode. I am not usually one to jump on the fire the GM or coach bandwagon, but he has had 5 years, and the team is getting worse, with nothing on the farm. I am a fan of Drouin but he is a play making winger, and is lost at center. I say put Galchenyuk at center, turn him loose and lighten up on the D responsibilities and see what he can do with Drouin on the wing. Trade Petry before his no trade kicks in, and Byron and Pacioretty who both have one more year on a respectable contracts. Listening to Bob Mackenzie today, it looks like the top 6 in the year's draft are high end, #1 defense or snipers, both of which the Habs need. I hope the hockey Gods look favorably on the team come draft lottery time. I'd rather suffer for 3 or 4 years, but wallowing year after year in the middle of the pack is getting old.
  25. We are up to 26 members in the League. Still time to get in...rosters have to be set by 8:30 AM Pacific Time.
