  5. It would be interesting to know what it would take to make it happen. It also made me think of the celebrity tour. It would also be cool to be able to see some of the events they play. I understand it wouldn't be able to be all the time but it would be nice to see sometimes, kind of like when they show some amateur tournaments. Golf Channel is always showing re runs of everything and it seems like somethings could fill up better space.
  6. I know there was at least some celebs and pros playing today in the pro am. I watch Mike and Mike in the morning everyday and Greenie had on Emmit Smith whom he was going to be playing with as well as Fred Couples. It just seems like these are the types of things they should show, at least in parts, to help show different sides of the tour. I would also like to see more regular character development of the everyday pros. You see some on inside the PGA tour show but it is not enough.
  7. I have had people do this. When the ball comes, wherever it may be they just move as to not get hit.
  8. I think a hole in one whether at a par 3 course or not is pretty cool. Regular golf courses have short holes. Also as far as I know no one complains when the pros make aces on holes that are playing 125 sometimes, they still make SportsCenter lol
  9. Does anyone know why the pro am's don't get shown regularly? I doubt I am the only one that likes to see the celebrities and pro athletes playing with the PGA tour golfers. It just seems like a lot of people would watch if they would show it.
  10. For sale is a set of MacGregor MT Forged 3-PW clubs. Clubs are all standard length, loft, and lie with standard grips. Clubs are in very good condition. Shafts are steel with stiff shafts. Any questions just let me know. Thanks $125 shipped
  11. I think when the course is to a certain standard than people should dress accordingly. There is a cheap course I play and people come out in tank tops and jean shorts, but it is a course that usually people who only play a few times a year play there. The nicer courses should keep a nice dress policy. Cargo shorts tucked in with a nice short still looks nice in my opinion. Cell phones are a huge annoyance. I have played the last 3-4 times behind someone who kept talking on the cell phone during the round and it slowed the play. I agree with the person who said he put his on vibrate and checks every so often for emergencies.
  12. 130yds for 52* wedge. Full swing I hit it 130 almost every time.
  13. To me it's not even about DJ not knowing the rules because he did. In his interview he said he knows you cant' ground the club in the bunker. The thing that gets me is calling the patch of dirt the ball was on a bunker. I think it was lazy and poor planning by the PGA to just call all the sand on the course bunkers and let people walk all over and through them. They should have planned better and deemed all the sand outside the ropes waste bunkers and avoided this type of situation. The PGA needs to step up to the plate and confront these types of situations and make improvements and take strides to avoid these situations, not just deflect blame onto the player and dissolve themselves of any blame. Unless we could see a before picture of that exact spot we will never know if that was even part of the bunker of grass trampled away by fans, it is just a sad situation, which is why people should not be allowed on such an important spot of the course.

    Eagles?

Just had my first eagle yesterday. It was on a 570 yd par 5. Hit Drive about 325 just in the rough. Hit 3 hybrid from 245 landed on front part of the green stopped about 8 feet short on a middle pin, made the putt for eagle. Even though the hybrid was a great shot the putt felt the best because I didn't choke knowing I was putting for eagle.
  15. I was almost hit a few times. The closest was a time when...I was playing with another person who I joined with, the guy hit a shank and I was standing by my cart, the ball hit behind my leg and hit the cart. He was more embarrassed then I was scared because I never saw the ball I just heard the thud behind my head. I didn't do anything because no harm no foul and he didn't do it on purpose.
  16. I have shot -2 34 for 9 but my best 18 is even par 72. I shoot 74-76 a lot and I am a 4.2 handicap.
  17. All I can say is that Stryker was awful when I played, it was definitely overplayed and dried up.
  18. I had this same problem when I was hitting balls and playing that much. Most of the time I was hitting at the range with the mats. I think this was the problem as the impact of the blunt force from the mat. Once I switched to a driving range at my local course hitting off of grass this problem went away.
  19. What course in NC are you playing?
  20. Most of the courses that are cheaper put any money they do have into the greens. So at least you will have a decent putting surface. But most of the cheaper courses put little to no money into the fairways and anything off the fairway. I think it is worse now because courses are just trying to stay alive.
  21. The pros do play lift clean place in certain circumstances. When it rains a lot they usually play this. When this is in effect even if their ball doesn't get muddy or plugged I still see them lift clean and place it anyway. Also when there are badly damaged areas on the course I have seen them marked and when their ball ends up in this spot they get a free drop. I have seen this in some tournaments in the middle of fairways. Obviously this does not happen often because a lot of time and money is put into making the course nice for them. I don't see how it is any different when someone on this forum hits a perfect drive into a badly damaged fairway and you get mad at them for putting it in a nice spot in the fairway. The only difference is there isn't someone going out and specifically marking the spot, but it is essentially the same. Just my opinion because the pro's don't always play the ball down all the time. The pro's are my diva's than anybody here. They are always asking for rulings to try and improve their lies when they are in tough spots.
  22. First round in about 2 weeks, Shot 75. 1 birdie and 4 bogies.
  23. I wouldn't suggest taking in 1200 calories and even 1500 is low. But if you were ging to take in only 1500 calories it should only be a short term thing like a month to lose some initial weight. I am an experienced weightlifter and I am currently taking in 1500-1800 calories a day while golfing and powerlifting. I am 5'6" and was about 175. I am dropping weight to 165 so I can lift in that weight class. I am down to 169 after 1.5 weeks. As soon as I get to about 160-162 I am going to go back to normal calorie intake. Right now I am eating a protein shake twice a day (with various ingredients including fresh fruit) and a normal meal at night with some portion control which comes out to 1500-1800 a day. So far I have no strength loss and haven't noticed any distance loss in my golf game. As far as powerlifting goes I would say I am advanced and know what im doing so stuff I do I don't usually recomend to others because I know my own limits. As far as weight loss and gain goes I am also very experienced, as far as lifting is concerned I have bench pressed double my body weight from 150lbs benching 300 to 181lbs. benching 365. If you have any questions about how I work out just PM me.
  24. I tend to like the range just as an in between to stay loose when I can't play a lot. When I just hit balls at the range I tend to just hurt my confidence. One reason is they have really small greens, so mentally when I dont hit the green every time it gets me upset. Another reason is because of how the bays are sometimes lined up, it tends to mis-align some of my shots. When it comes to the driver I can't hit it at the range. I end up feeling claustrophobic and can't do any good which just hurts my confidence. I find that my scores improve the most when I play a lot and get to feel how to play shots you can't simulate on the range. So in the end I just use the range to stay loose and try to hit no more than a medium bucket and focus on making good contact.
