what are yours before a round or even during a round...... before a round I never play balls #4.... seems like bad luck and 0-3's are the ones.. always hit at least 2 good drives.. and if the course has no driving range then I find somewhere and tee up a couple before or there. tees are yellow, red, orange, green but never white....clear pockets and only carry my lucky ball marker and divot tool... once on course if my round is real good, no beer, food at 9 just water or a sm fuit snack.. if I feel I'm stuggling then the ball is the 1st to go buy-buy. get a new one, never play a lost ball or a found one, no matter how new.. always put my name on top of the scorecard. and never let anyone pick up a putt and say its good. all putts go in, no mater if its just hanging on the edge, I putt them all. unless its match play...lol

all he need now is to take up smoking and drink diet cokes and get a hooters sponsership........

today I caught steven ames and woodys replys to the media booth after there rounds... steven got asked about his pairing with tiger last time... he set the reporter straight and rolled his eyes, here we go again...can't we just talk about my round today or yesterdays round. and woodys questions still boardered on his temperment.. his reply was even better.. why is it if tiger slams his clubs down on the ground you call it competive drive... and when I do it you call me out of control.. he brought up some other great ones too, it was a great interview. I just can't believe how much they dwell on the past and such. I thought only girlfriends remember stuff like that from the past...lol boo's interview was the best, I'm just in this game till I make enough money to just quite and go fishing/hunting all the time, maybe like 10 more yrs... question to boo.. how much money do you need to do that....???? I don't know, I'll let you know in 10 yrs....lol

it was a mistake, everyone makes mistakes... I'm sure he cares about it, if he would have made a top 20 finish that would have been about 76,000.00 and that not pocket change.....

"you're a real world class putter aren't you" - Tiger

Dminn23 not at all.. its just for me I enjoy playing golf and also like it when a person can smile and and chat and play to the crowds. his focus for me while it may win him the title of best golfer ever and championships, it isn't a person I would enjoy playing a round with. I like the guys that have fun and are a little more animated with there misses and brides...like Peter Jacobson, Payne Stewart, Sergio García, John Dayle, Lee Trevino, Jim Colbert.... I get focused and take care of my shots and then I go on and keep having fun...then again I'm not playing for 4times more money than I make in one yr....lol -
I agree....just add one thing....stick to the LPGA golf tour that was an embarrassment to see her on the euro trail tring to compete agaist the men....
-
john daly has the same problem.....his grandson said, dont worry grandpa, just think when you get to be a sienor your swing will still be parallel at the top.......lol
-
thanks everyone for the reply's.... and I agree with turlock kid, its hard when you have a fun group to take time to mark your card, but when its like that then I make someone else in charge of the group card, that helps me to still be funny too ......lol side note..... I just noticed that aquacooled ..... your like the 1st person on here who use all the same clubs from one co. in your bag......nice that is a rare thing these days....

best quote yet......well put......

I am not a huge tiger fan. I don't like the intensity he plays with and the way he works the crowds...but that's me. but I have to say to see them at ease and playing to have some fun was great... I like to hear the stuff in the tee boxes and on the greens and in the trees... they should do that a little more often. the skins game is one I like cause it uses that format where you get to hear there commits and see and feel more of what they go through... that was great. -
I disagree......tiger has been hitting irons and 3 woods and if you think those guys are just hitting to the green, not so..... all of them whether there protecting a lead or just going for it... there course/shot mgmt is going through there head all the time... the other night did anyone see the golf channel had a demo challenge with Geoff Ogilvy, Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, Mike Weir, hitting a variety of shots...it was amazing to see some of the shots they pulled off....tiger hit a draw shot that was like in the next fairway and came back....they are good. and with that said they are human too...so making a mistake now and then is only human... show me one pro in any sport that hasn't made a mistake from time to time and I'll show you a sport anyone can master....lol

I'm not a teaching pro or close, but if it were my but when my daughter wanted to play I went to the local thrift store and found a great deal on a set of ladies clubs and a bag to match....the whole set up cost all of 30.00.......now you factor in if she doesn't stick with golf, so.....and I feel that in the beginning your just learning and refining your swing and such....why spend 3-400.00 on something that might change later with your swing in a yr or less.... now days everyone wants to have custom fitted stuff off the bat... and yet I bet most people out there in the 1st yr can't tell the difference and even those who have played the game for 10yrs still swing and play the same game the same, whether they bought fitted clubs or just 2nd hand ones....... so I say just look around and you will find a good starter set..... ps.... another store for this is play it again sports. they have stores nation wide..

turlock kid......your right about all the ads....way too many.... I say they set time aside like at the ends of the show so we can just go to the kitchen or bathroom and miss all the boring stuff.... I can only see so much of the same commercial in a 30min segment... I'm with you on this one.

question............do your your shots off grass marts??? cause hitting from marts can mask fat and mis-hit shots... as the bounce off the mat can still get the ball down range... if you are using the the matts then try finding a range with grass and practice on that... and I like to practice with different clubs too..not using the same one for 20 shots...mix it up and take a friend and switch hits that way it gives you time to pause between shots and think... if you are hitting from grass now at the range I'm out here....good luck
-
I agree with you Big Don....... the only thing that has come of late that made it any easier has been the hybred wood irons..... much easier than a 2/3 iron.... as for the persimmon wood drivers..... I took out my 1965 driver the other day at the range... and it will still put them out 200yds+ no problem.... had to laugh, the guy behind me had never seen one he thought I my kid made it wood shop......lol

hey nor-cal..... we might have earthquakes and wierdos some might say....... but at least we get to play golf 85% of the yr..... I played last friday at mariners pt in foster city at night..... its a par 3 with lights and it was tee-shirt weather... played from 6-10pm........you gotta love ca.....

To ebay or not to ebay?
blue_crush replied to Clubswinger21's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have bought many items on e-bay...... and not once have I been disappointed in 4yrs... if the seller is 98% and up and from the usa with at least 100 sales or more you will be ok..... I have even bought from some that only had like 25 sales and had 100%feedback and it worked... e-bay has some incredible offers and as long as you know what you want or need you will be ok...... -
you bring up something else I wondered about too and that was the size of the screen..... for me with my phone sometime I have to pull out my cheaters to see the sm print.... I surely don't want to have to carry a set of cheaters to see the screen.... and I'm guessing its not in color,so how easy was it to see the display in the sunlight....??? thanks...
-
my last golf ideal was to make a driver with a square head... and call it the hammer..... with a cool tune to match....."can't touch this"...da da da daaa da da da da.. needless to say nows theres one...... so my next driver ideal I'm thinking about trying.... lets just say theres nothing like it out there.... think F-18's......
-
I have about the same #s..... driver...240 3w......230 the difference here is my driver will go further on a good hit and roll too..... my 3w is really straight and I can hit it from the fairways... and if its a tight fairway or a 230yd par 3 that is going to be my 3w.... so for me, 3w is a usefull choice... what else would you hit from the fairway 220yds....?

for the guys that walk and don't use a cart with gps... whats your thoughts on this item...... do enough course have links to it to make it worth the money.....around 300.00 is it something that you would buy....??? just wondering thanks...........smilin steve

as a kid growing up I had only one wedge....a 9 iron.... I used it for everythin from sand to 125yds.... it was my everything inside 100yd club.. and it was awsome.... now days I see guys with 3 or more wedges and when do they have time to paractice all those shots... for me it all goes in reverse 125-100.....9 100-80......pw 80-50.....sand 50-20. ....lob 20-10....pw 10-less...9 as I get closer I like the release and roll to pin... its too hard to hole it out on the fly....lol
-
how do you mark your card.....? my scorecard is for me only.... if I'm to keep score for the group I use 2 cards.... I write allot of stuff on it..... the top box it gets 2 marks..... the 1st one is greens and the next is putts... so if I miss the green in reg it gets an X if its on in reg it gets an 0.... and putts 2 or 1 get an 0.... so hopefully all I see is 0-0 that way I can look back and see quickly my stats.... on the bottom half get notes.... sand...on in 2...chunked a chip...left a birdie putt short..ect.. par 3's guess how close to the pin....40ft or 6ft... that way I know what I want to work on....... later I can pull it out and its like reading shorthand and see where my game was that day and if I choose to work on something I will know which areas to do so..... whats yours......
