  1. I started doing this last month. I still eat what I want (in general but try to make good decisions) just eat it in smaller portions, and walk at night and wak the course as my main excercise. Walking a full course can burn almost 1200 calories. I've lost six pounds in April so far, getting me back under 200
  2. You may be squeezing the palm of your right hand too tightly around your thumb, or have too much grip pressure on you're left thumb and index finger. In a standard grip, interlocking or over wrap, the main grasping digits are the middle, ring and pinky fingers of the left hand, and the middle/ring fingers of the right. keep your hands relaxed and loose. 90% of my shanks, tops, and chunks are because of too much tension in my hands.
  3. I too am a Nickent Junkie, but as time goes buy it's becoming increasingly hard to find, especially in new condition. Rockbottom Golf and Golfio have the best deals on Nickent but are frequently sold out. I'd be very cautious of this website...
  4. 2006 Ford Escape
  5. It rained today with severe lightning so the range and course were closed. I've just been pacing the house and staring at my bag...
  6. like reading the green and lining up where you want to hit with the putter? My biggest problem is distance. I either leave it way short or hit it so far past the cup I end up having to tee up again...
  7. Could be pressure. A foursome of jerks playing behind you can add a lot of heat. Especially when you hit a bad shot cause you just know they are talking smack about how the dude in front of them sucks and can't hit a ball lol. I hate having guys behind me and rush almost every time just to keep going so they don;t have to wait..
  8. Thanks for the advice, much apprectiated. What of the Callaway X-22's? I don't want to spend too much since I know I've got the 990's waiting for me. I'll never get rid of Pop's clubs, so that's not a worry. I'm not adverse to getting Clones either as I figure they only need to last a few years, and I can always pass them on to my brother...
  9. My pops was a close to scratch Golfer and won some new Titleist DCI 990 in a corporate tournament. He played on them for about a year but passed away in an accident almost two years ago. I inherited his bag and antique club collection and decided to pick up the game. I tried to teach myself but wizened up and decided to take regular lessons of which I;ve had two so far. My question is, should I ride out the DCI 990's or find a good GI set to improve on. I have good carry and make fairly consistent contact even with the big swing and grip change my teacher introduced.. I have replaced the lower irons in my bag for some hybrids. I'm sort of torn, If I tough it out and learn on the 990's to where I hit those great I know I'll be a stronger player in the long run, but the immediate improvement that a GI club represents is awfully attempting. Any Thoughts?

One thing is for sure, this forum is great company with all the guys that strike the ball longer and straighter than almost all touring pro's. I'll sure learn a lot since they aren't playing on tour and are on a golfing forum. Did I mention my one eye is fourteen inches......in CIRCUMFERENCE? At least I got that going for me.....
  12. Consistent solid contact high ball flight and a soft land with little roll rotation through the swing and a circular swing path. Counting to two after contact before I look up at the ball

Congrats go to them. For my game at the moment I'll take 210 in the fairway every time I tee it up
  14. I've been buying up Nickent stuff like crazy the last few weeks. They can be found dirt cheap and it is still high quality equipment. Shame what happened to that company...
  15. Hello there. I'm from Western Kentucky. Picked up the game two years ago after my dad passed away and I inherited his club collection. I have added a few along the way but still use his irons and putter primarily. I taught myself the game using what tips and tricks I could catch from youtube and other internets sources, but began taking lessons this spring where I was proven to be doing everything wrong and am basically starting over from grip to swing. By the end of the summer I'd love to be a 100 golfer and flirting with the 90's... I joined this forum as just another resource of knowledge and the hopes of finding more connections within the brotherhood of this great sport of Golf!!
  16. I usually freeze a few water bottles the night before... I do keep a few of those green tea citrus powder packets in the bag though....

I'm fairly certain I'd rather hit the driver where I wanted, than to hit it really far.....
