  1. I'll take J.B. Holmes he seems somewhat underrated, and I think Sergio is starting to look good--but not sure if he's in the field.
  2. I think it was the first U.S. Open at bethpage when he and Tiger were battling it out. It seemed to start as a New York thing and just took off from there.
  3. well, if a 5'9" short hitter can get to number one in the world it may change some opinions of where the game is heading
  4. I think the fascination with "choking" is kind of annoying. It's always brought up like we're exposing some dark secret about a player and why they will never live up to their potential. In this particluar case we are talking about a 21 year old who could very possibly be ten years away from playing his best golf.
  5. I was playing in a scramble about 10 years ago at Fort Bragg (stryker course I think) and hitting an approach shot into the ninth hole which is uphill with a parking lot a few yards off the green. Well, the parking lot was full and I flew the green by about 20 yards and heard the distinct sound of a ball hitting a vehicle. We walked up to the parking lot to view the damage ( all I'm thinking is how stupid I was to hit a shot like that and how much this is going to cost me) and the vehicle I hit belonged to one of the guys in my foursome--small dent in the roof and he thought it was hilarious. Everytime I played that hole after that day I was always 10-20 yards short of the green on approach shots--just didn't dare to hit enough club

    Number 1

sounds a lot like the FedEx Cup
  7. just curious, what did you put on your card?
  8. I'm thinking no....but anything's possible on the internet
  9. Because he is not nearly as powerful and respected as his very bad reality shows so carefully portray him. Trump trying to "take on Augusta" would be worse than Vince McMahon's attempt to take on the NFL
  10. it's not a very good show...but I'll take it any day over informercials or Donald Trump garbage
  11. I think it was Olazabal who punched the locker, not sure which major it was
  12. I wouldn't say he is a favorite, but I think if he has a good week he may surprise some people
  13. sticking with baseball, I sort of look at it like how could Pedro Martinez at 5'10" and 170 pounds throw a ball 97 mph? You just can't make it entirely about being a certian size
  14. Not sure what you mean by "true athletes" but Greg Norman would probably have fit your definition. Also, all things are never equal and alot of the 5'8" 150 guys are the ones hitting it 30 yards past other players.
  15. He's a great player and probably has the brightest future of all the young guys that are talked about today, but I think "exciting" is a different category and the one thing he doesn't have going for him. I just can't imagine a time where networks are hoping for Kaymer to get in the mix to jack up the ratings--even though he can play great golf
  16. someday it's all gonna click and I'll hit 111% of my greens
  17. So basically you want to go from a 12 to scratch over your summer vacation. Talk to your pro about timelines for improvement.
  18. Zach Johnson could hit fairways. Short and crooked will be tough to overcome at Augusta--but your right about his iron accuracy and putting. He sort of reminds me of Jose Maria Olazabal in that way, but Augusta has changed alot since his wins there.
  19. I'm thinking the lesson is more on where people need to pick up the pace on the course
  20. I think your confusing "tournament wins and leaderboardes" with magazine covers and commercials.
  21. I played King Kamehameha which was around $100 if I remember correctly. We went in May and had the course to ourselves--very nice.
  22. I think the U.S.Open is far more demanding in terms of accuracy than any other tournament. Mike Weir won at Augusta with something like 50% GIR--not exactly putting on a clinic with his approach shots.
  23. He's a long hitter, already won this year and nearly won a major last year--hardly a love fest to think he might be one of the favorites
  24. I wished we lived in a world with a million Johnny Millers
  25. That's shocks me that a tour player never had one--with all the golf he's played and that he's probably hitting a sand wedge to most par 3's. Guess I'm in good company
