  1. I've heard from a couple OEM guys that the deal is done!
  2. Saw this one on the course at the house
  3. I think its simple.... One resulted in a Green Jacket, one did not..... However I am totally biased being a UGA guy myself!
  4. Another issue, is the course is only open for play for a relatively short window every year (compared to the year round golf typical to this area). Then they begin there changes and upgrades for the upcoming year.
  5. If you have make a trip to MB and dont play Caledonia at Pawley's Island than you have completely missed the jewel of the region. It is consistently ranked by the "experts" as well as the players reviews. It is worth the trip by itself! The TPC is also nice, but it is like every other TPC and there are so many courses with character in the area. I like the Dunes course as well. One that I always enjoyed (although be it, I have not played it in a few years) is Pine Lakes, referred to as the Grandaddy of the Grand Strand.
  6. To the OP: Like I posted to this question several times..... If I want advice about plumbing, Im going to ask a plumber....So with theory in hand, why ask a bunch of internet posters, none of which have any tour expereience, how to make it on tour???? Ask someone who actually has some sort of knowledge base to draw from. BTW...I broke par on a regular basis at 13 and....I got as far as colleigate golf (but I wasnt really in to practicing, and I didnt use Mizuno Blades.... ;) )
  7. I was given a sleeve to try out and loved the ball. I next bought a few dozen to try out and they are a great ball. I find them very similar to the ProV1 except I find the cover more durable. My only complaint was I purchase a few more dozen (I only play a few holes per ball usually) and I realized that all but 2 of the balls in the first 3 dozen were the TP Black. I could instantly tell the difference, as I find the TP Black to be a vastly inferior ball. To the credit of TM, they shot me 2 dozen right out to take care of me.
  8. I find that a little hard to chew, since world long drive phenom Jamie Sadlowski hits a 7 iron 250!
  9. To say a Scotty Cameron is overrated is silly…..People run out and buy them because they see their favorite player using it. Just like the guy that runs out and buys an R11 because its white, but never takes advantage of its features. I currently use a Scotty Cameron, fitted and ground to my specifications by a Titleist tour fitter. It works for me…my Irons are custom fit and shafted for me…They are exactly what I need to play the way I do. Heck for most golfers the OEM should give you clubs, becuase you are just gonna hit more balls in the woods! To say a ProV1 is overrated is just dumb….how about you amend your statement and say a ProV1 is not right for me. The ProV1 is a Ferrari among Fords…if you know how to drive it. I would not expect a 22 or 15 handicap to understand that because you do not hit the ball with enough consistency to justify the expenditure…thus your narrow opinion that it is “over rated”. I might hit your set up and think its total garbage, but I bet I could still beat you with your own clubs. This post seems to be a lot of jealous, snobbery and insecurity manifested in a few bitter posts. Sorry, my two cents.
  10. I have the X Flex RIP's in my 910D3 and 910F. Love them, I am a high ball hitter and they keep my ball down. I have the Pro Force and the Project X 7.0 as well the Project is gonna be my #2. I am gonna throw a Whiteboard in them but I have 2 babies right now so, I will wait a little on that. Just a warning on those cheap adapters, I have seen about 5 or 6 heads down the driving rangeet the from them snapping off. If you find the shaft you like, order it from Titleist and get the real deal. FYI none of the "off the tour van" adapters on ebay are actual titleist equipment.
  11. Sorry no link, that is straight from the source.
  12. I have been fortunate enough to play the course twice. First off, I have the oppotunity to play some really storied locations, but there was something really amazing about hitting a golf shot there. i have been going to the Master's Tournament for 30 years, but playing was Amazing. Best example i can think of is I have been to some amazing churches (National Cathedral, Notre Dame and Westminster Abby) but there is something about the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's in Vatican City. I still have both scorecards framed at my parents house!
  13. I seem to remember Phil Mickelson telling Sky Sports that he was actually 1/8 Leprechaun and that would give him the edge in the Open. He also said that he was actually Tiger's first mistress....can you believe it? I was totally blown away!
  14. Quote: like I said earlier "... Like walking well in front of the line of sight of a hitting opponent, that is something you learn in Junior golf. How about the fact that he was rummaging through his bag or talking to his caddie during another players swing? Or maybe the fact that he was pulling the Velcro on his glove to remove in the putting stroke of another?"

    Sunglasses

I wear a pair of Polorized Flak Jackets for Golf and a pair of Costa Polirized Green mirrored for everything else.
  16. Get test fitted. Be careful about this though, I find that they have a tendency to recommend the clubs they are pushing. For Example Dicks Sporting goods is going to recommend a R11. If you are new to the sport the biggest head you can get is going to halp you reduce spin and cut down on you slice. I might recommend some lessons from the pro of that club. Lessons are going to make the biggest differnce.
  17. You calim that Elkington was using "gamesmanship" and I was just commenting that these things that where being done that day are not gamesmanship.
  18. There is a difference between gamesmanship, and unprofessional conduct. Like walking well in front of the line of sight of a hitting opponent, that is something you learn in Junior golf. How about the fact that he was rummaging through his bag or talking to his caddie during another players swing? Or maybe the fact that he was pulling the Velcro on his glove to remove in the putting stroke of another? Like I said I don’t call that gamesmanship.
  19. I can tell you Bubba, is not a jerk. He is a super nice guy. I've known the guy for years, since college at University of Georgia. While I will agree he has a firey temper, but he is a good person.
  20. My Vote for STUPIDEST THREAD OF THE YEAR!!!! I heard from my nephew's wife's hairstylist's brother's dentist's dry cleaner, that Phil Mickelson likes to steal the souls of small children to help cure his arthritis. He also doesn't use golf balls to practice, he use baby seals!!!! No of you know the people that you are talking about....and therefore have absolutely no basis to bash or otherwise tarnish their names! Whatever you think you saw or some inside source told you is rubbish…and probably an isolated incident. I have witnessed a particularly famous “good guy” act like a total ass to a waitress at dinner, doesnt mmake him a jerk. I have also witnessed a guy that was a huge jerk in college golf turn out to be a really good person. Thing is none of us know the circumstances or context in which many of these things take place. Someone should bust a cap in our asses!
  21. Have we not learned our lesson with taking things that someone, even a member of the media, thinks happened? Just recently we had someone swear that they witnessed a pro act a certain way...come to find out they were wrong, and yet the pro was bashed. I would dare say none of you have ever met the individual you are judging. You are passing hearsay off as fact. I can say that I do know Bubba and have had the pleasure of knowing him since our college days. I will tell you that he is one of the best people you could have the lucky happenstance to come across. I have personally witnessed him outside of the limelight and he is a very kind and generous person. He is the same guy outside the ropes as inside them. I saw the comments; he said he was home sick for his food. Anyone who has travelled abroad knows that your stomach can sometimes give you fits when eating cuisine that is different than your norm. He went on in the very same interview to compliment the friendly people. As far as not sharing a car...I am calling shenanigans on that. I know he was travelling with a large entourage of his wife, Angie, his caddie and several friends. He probably passed on a car so that they could all ride to the course together, and it was blown into this "ugly" American too big to share a car. Because this would be the first time the European press as stirred up the muck to make a story... All I'm saying is I think this is a load of BS!
  22. I play the SC Circa 62 #2 Grey Mist....but due to some alignment issues I switched to a RIFE Barbosa mallet, and have been making everyhting in sight!
  23. If you have not already purchased those 710mb's.....just an FYI, they realeased the 712 series this week, so those 710's will probably drop. I am a Titleist guy, I am in their consumer product review panel, and I still say the Miura are the finest forged irons on the planet! Their product tolerances are staggeringly tight....that being said I think getting the proper shaft plays a more significant role in the playability of the irons. I am not a huge fan of Scratch equipment, however I know they make great stuff. I think you have narrowed it down to some of the finest irons out there!
  24. This statement proves you don’t know your Eye 2’s from a hole in the ground! Touring pros do not always play the newest line of club. Heck, Ping is one of the best about setting their pros up with anything they want and they don’t use the Eye2’s…Bubba Watson, a Ping staffer, plays the S-59’s a club from 2004. What would the membership of your "country club" think if they discoverd your were playing with a dirty set of second hand sticks? BTW - You can purchase a set of New Eye2's directly from Ping...I think they are about $900
