-12 is pretty good. It has been topped, but still impressive. Just too bad it was Westwood. Oops,

FedExCup = A Waste of 10 Million Dollars
Varsity_Golf replied to AmazingWhacker's topic in Tour Talk
I don't find anything wrong with the FedEx cup playoffs or the system of how it is determined.....I think some people just don't like it because they don't know how it is broken down. If you would check out this link, maybe it would fill you in (by "you" I am talking to all who dislike the FedEx cup) http://www.pgatour.com/2008/fedexcup/11/25/2009changes.chart/index.html If you don't like how it is run, contact the PGA Tour. They are the ones that have control over this kind of stuff, not people on an internet Forum. Thanks. -
Lake Placid, NY. Suggest a course?
Varsity_Golf replied to Bluebuilder's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Saratoga National is the best place I would suggest. -
If you don't mind my asking, how did you get that pattern like that? That is very cool and good job on it! Varsity_Golf

Why? I think it's good that Tiger won't be in the field. I'm not bashing Tiger, but It'll be a "Different experience."

Could Luke Donald Really Be the World's Number One Player?
Varsity_Golf replied to Chilli Dipper's topic in Tour Talk
I think that Luke Donald is absolutly worthy of being the world #1. While he may not be a long driver, he is an ARTIST with the irons and his putter (Has not had a 3 putt in something like 115 holes). Go Luke Donald! I sincerely hope that Westwood doesn't become #1. -

What do you prefer, a blade, mallet or other style of putter?
Varsity_Golf replied to Radford Wooly's topic in Golf Talk
I actually had to select "Other" because my preference falls with the mid mallet. absolutly love how they feel. Nike EverClear E22s are really nice, along with Odyssey White Hot Rossie -
It's Icing here right now.....and two weeks ago I was hitting balls in my back yard.....oh well bring on April, eh? Welcome, btw
-
I agree. As long as you can actually hit the golf ball you should be able to hit both....:)

I personally am starting P90X next week, along with trying to run about 1-2 miles a couple times a week. It will be hard running when theres snow here in NY! Will let everyone know how it turns out!

So, after a lengthy time away from TST, I am back. Mostly because I couldn't remember my password. Anyhow, for christmas, I got a new set of irons. I have it narrowed down to a few, but I want some outside opinions as to what might be a good set. My list currently is (in order of most liked to less) Bridgestone J38 Forged Cavity Nike VR Pro Combo Mizuno MP-53 Titleist CB/AP1 I am about a 10 Handicap and a very good ball striker. Just not QUITE good enough for Blades...:( THANKS, Varsity_Golf

Super Thick Putter Grips
Varsity_Golf replied to Varsity_Golf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I hope to try one out next season....not sure If i'd go with the fatso or the slightly slimmer one....... -
Have you seen these? A kid I played a match agaist had them. They are supposed to make you grip the putter lighter and eliminate push/pull or something. http://www.superstrokegrip.com/ I guess my real ? is , has anyone had experience with these, or would you think they would be effective? Thanks, Varsity

This is the article in our hometown paper on the golf team (mentions all the players). I am Ullman btw...... The Cobleskill-Richmondville Golf Team finished its Colonial Council season last week with a 9-4 record. That was good enough for a third place finish in the Liberty Division behind perennial league and section powers Albany Academy and Voorheesville. Senior Austin Westervelt led the Bulldogs with a ninehole stroke average of 38.8, this included seven rounds below 40 (36 at Colonie Country Club and 36 at Cobleskill Country Club). Eric Sulem, senior had the next best average at 42.8. The next three top players were sophomore Adam Ullman 44.2, junior Sean Thaxter 44.5 and senior Nick Koeberle 47.5. Junior Greg Pugh played in the sixth position. At the Colonial Council League tournament on Friday, September 24 at Sycamore Golf Course, the team finished third out of 10 teams with a total of 331. Wester velt (80, seventh) and Sulem (81, eighth) received medals; Koeberle (84) and Ullman (86) completed the score. The squad will be defending its Class “B” sectional title today, Wednesday at Stadium Golf Course with the top five players all qualifying (Westervelt, Sulem, Ullman, Thaxter, Koeberle). We had sectionals today, in the pouring rain, wind, and 50 degree weather at Stadium Golf course in Schenectady, NY. Our team was the Reigning section B champs, and we knew we had a good shot coming into the day. The miserable conditions led to me shooting a 45 on the back and 43 on the front to come up with a not-so-great 88. I had shot 82 at the same course the day before for practice . The rest of the Team shot 80, 81, 89, 112 (NOT GOOD). The cut to go to state qualifiers next week ended up being 83, so I missed out this year, but that's ok. This was the putting green before we started....... There will be a final wrap-up blog next week after the season is officially over and we have our last, non-chalant match for fun, I guess..... Anyway, If you followed my blog, thank you very much. I don't know how much golf I will play the rest of this season, but I appreciate you guys reading this and my future blogs that will be titled "Round (Date) - Score" Cheers, Adam

I use a very conventional stance, with the ball in the middle of my stance, and the ball directly below my nose (if that makes sense)
-
excluding the neccessary clubs (putter/driver) 1. 56* 2. PW 3. 3i

Anyone know a good one? I don't mean like for a specific company just an overall. I know what I play but I want to know what else might work for me.... Thanks, Varsity

I use the Taylormade TP Black LDP (similar to your Burner) and love it. I will not use a different ball except maybe a pro v1.

After playing fair against Schalmont and shooting 44, I went into the Colonial Council Championships on friday at sycamore knowing I needed one more qualifier to go to sectionals for the first time (sophomore). I played pretty good, and almost chipped in for birdie 3 times and left a birdie putt on the lip on hole 16. ANGER. I shot 41 on the front and 45 on the back (+6 and +9) to shoot 86. I was 4 shots out of the top ten, leaving me T13 or so. Not too bad. Our 1 man shot 80 and 2 man 81, 5 man 84 and me 86. Today I worked at the CRCS Education Foundation tournament as a hole in one marshall and putting contest-runner. It went well. The school earned quite a bit (did not get the final numbers) but it was a good day overall. More updates on the season and sectionals to come. Sectionals are Oct. 6th at Stadium. PUMPED. Cheers, Adam

Great job! My goal at the beginning (april) of this year was to do the same. And after I did that, Then to break 85. Kicked that in the butt a few times already. Now looking to break 80 (shot 81 and 82 twice, then 83 twice.) GREAT JOB!!!!
