  1. Baby on the way, so all unneeded golf stuff must be sold. The Ogio has to go, and a shame really, because it's undeniably the nicest bag I've ever owned. Unfortunately/fortunately (whichever way you want to look at it) I value a few toys for the kid more than a $300 golf bag. Rare black with silver piping (good luck finding anything other than a "sand" color anywhere) Excellent condition, still has the UPC bar code on the bottom. Bag has been used at range and walked a few rounds, but always babied and usually in storage (in condo closet, not in weather). Yes, it still has the unused divot tool and cigar holder. "Wedge" dividers (shown in last photo...not my photo, not my bag, but is the same compartment design) Especially neat features: Zipperless ball pocket...resistance band pocket opens and shuts via elastic bands More pockets than you know what to do with Fantastic Crossbow strap system Velcro glove holder Bungie towel strap (no need for eyelets in towels) Bottle holder 3 ball plastic sleeve on outside of bag First $175 shipped takes it.
  2. Have a friend selling me a set of i15 irons and some iWedges, so no need for these laying around. Basing prices off of eBay, but I won't be offended [if you aren't] by a PM with another offer. I'm not sure that I have any particular trade interests in mind...anything Ping would be considered. Price is shipped within US48...can negotiate elsewhere As for the clubs 710 AP1 4-UW (8 clubs) Standard LLL to the best of my knowledge Very, very good shape Nippon NS Pro 105T R flex shafts Vokeys 54* SM54-14, TT DG Wedge shaft 58* Vokey Design 58.12 with TT Sensicore S300 shaft Photo time!
  3. Agreed! Then again, doesn't everything from Taylormade give you everything you could ever need (or so it seems based on their marketing).
  4. I say be up front right off the bat. Explain how you're playing, where you're strong and where you're weak, and then establish a plan from the get go. Whether that be putting first to allow stronger putters to get a read or only hitting the 3 wood for the sake of leaving the ball in the short stuff, figure out a plan and stick with it. Most importantly, relax. As long as you don't go up there acting like a scratch player with $6,000 in JDM clubs in your bag, you'll be alright.
  5. Woohoo! Thanks everyone!
  6. Hooray Indiana and anything Hoosier, although I just moved out of the state for work. The dot system has certainly been around forever, but like Bryan said, I have seen several non-WRX putters that did not have the dot. The only thing I thought seemed a bit off is the backwards 2 printed inside the cavity. I have no idea what that could be from, and haven't seen any others like it.
  7. Here's photos, sorry for the size, but better to have too much than not enough. I redid the paintfill, so obviously that's not original or correct. Also, for what it is worth, the putter would have been purchased in 1998 or 1999. Not sure when Ping started putting serials on clubs; I know some clubmakers didn't start doing it until after the turn of the millenium. It was received as a gift, and I believe purchased at an Air Force Base to avoid taxes.
  8. To answer about the serial, there is none on this putter that I know of.
  9. I've found the best stuff to be the extra string lacquer thinner found at Ace hardware. Either dip a toothbrush in it and then rub on the clubs itself, or pour a small bowl and soak the club heads in it for 5 or 10 minutes. Comes RIGHT off.
  10. Just read that ever Ping club should have a colored dot on it for the lie angle. I have what looks like a Ping Anser 2i putter, but there is nothing indicating a lie angle on it. Am I looking in the wrong place, or is this possibly a knockoff?
  11. Also, forgot to state this in previous post. As for it making any sense...depends who you ask. Why in theory would this work? Depending on your swing pattern, tilting the ball forward can reduce the backspin you are imparting at impact which should lead to a better roll out.
  12. Uh....Am I the only one that's seeing "Designed to help prevent you..."? It's all the same bad grammar, but am I missing something else? Just wanting to make sure I'm not going crazy.
  13. What makes a golf shoe a golf shoe? I think there's a lot of stuff out there today (I'm looking at you Adidas) that Hogan or Jones would have never, ever considered "a golf shoe." In my book, if it's marketed at golfers, it's a good thing, so hats off to this guy. Even if the company tanks, he put a few more products out there for a bit, which I say is good for the game. Now if the local club's pool area gets drained and turned into a skate park, I might have to rethink this...
  14. Sounds odd coming from a 18-20 handi, but I actually rock a 54, 58, and a 60. Since I grew up on a few acres, these were clubs that I could always take out back and use practice full swings with without any danger of knocking golf balls off the property. As a result, I can't hit my fairway wood straight to save my life, my driver is a bit errant, and most of my irons are, at the best, a bit skittish. Get me inside 110 though, and I've usually got only 2 or 3 strokes to go.
  15. Other than 1 pair of Airwalks I had in 4th grade (which I wore until they literally fell apart), I could never stand the feel, look, or style of "skate" shoes. Went through a few pair of Vans and such, but never could get that same feel that I loved about the Airwalks I used to have. This, which I agree look very much like something a pre-teen emo punk would wear, are actually kind of interesting. More so though is the link that Erik posted about TRUE linkswear...I do believe those are going to be purchased by next spring!
  16. Hook for sure. Between the two the same distance from the fairway, I'd almost always take the extra distance offered from a hook than a slice.
  17. Only birdied a couple of times ever. Best run ever was a couple of days ago at a new course, par, bogey, par, par, par
  18. Well played, didn't even think about source. Thanks to Erik also; always seems to be around to fill people in on info.
  19. Disregard. I took a screenshot, zoomed into my name, "grabbed" the color of my name, and then made a few "paint swatches." She be green. I be established.
  20. Everyone, I suffer from an ailment. It's called color deficiency. I have difficult distinguishing some greens and such. Therein lies my problem. For marketplace use, you need to be an established member, and while I have over 5 rep, over 25 posts, and have been around over 30 days, I have no idea if my name is green or not. Please help. romphill :)
  21. Look. At. That. Sole. Seriously, I think that pitching wedge has more of a sole than my 460cc driver..."That's no moon..."
  22. I left a nasty welt on my shin yesterday....was on pace to break 45 for the first time ever on a legitimate course (shot a +2 through 9, but it was a pretty lame course) so I was in the zone while trying to read a break. While circling the green, WHACK, and that was all she wrote. bogey, bogey, double bogey to finish out the round after a 4 par run in the middle.
  23. 94 through 18 holes at Pleasant View in Madison, WI. First time playing there...was very impressed. Very pretty, lots of elevation change, and the first time I have ever (or remember having ever) seen an island bunker in a fairway. It. Was. Awesome. Not sure on slope for course, but par was 72. Shot a poor 52 on the front nine, followed by one of my better, if not best, rounds with a 42 on the back (also par 36). Managed 4 pars on the back nine, more than I've ever had in a single round.
  24. Played GREAT with my Scotty today...might actually be bagging it for a bit.
