  1. What do you like about them? I have an old Wilson 5 wood and love it.
  2. Oh, I interpreted the original post as a father and son who just practice together recreationally not for competitive play.
  3. 3 hours of practice in one day, 5 days a week? Are you currently practicing that much? That would be burnout city for me. I'm a teacher as well, I usually practice 3-4 days a week and play once. My practice time is only 1-1 1/2 hours though.
  4. Rooting for Lili as well. I don't think any of the top 3 are doing very well on the Futures Tour. Ryan is tearing it up though.
  5. Sad to see Sara go. Big time hottie and cute with those big goofy ears. Those polka dot shorts she was wearing really accentuated her...assets. En fuego!
  6. I'm in the market for an easy to hit hybrid as well. I really don't want to shell out $150-200 on one though. I've read that the Nickent hybrids are great clubs while being very affordable.
  7. The general consensus seems to be that lessons are very much worth taking and will significantly improve your game in time IF you can find yourself a solid teaching pro that you are comfortable with.
  8. I think you are really hurting yourself if you don't take the putter.
  9. Fixed my swing! My grip and take away were the culprits. On the take away I was taking the club up too fast. Now I focus on taking the club back off the ground about 2 inches till the club head is just behind my back foot, then I bring the club up into a comfortable arm slot. The improvements were dramatic. A few monster slices here and there but I was driving the ball very well.
  10. I discovered a new body odor for the first time smelling one of my old crusty gloves. I didn't know I could produce such a smell. By the way, The Crusty Glove is a GREAT name for a pub at a golf course.
  11. Age: 25 Height: 6'1 Where are you from: Miami, FL How Long have you been Playing: First started playing 6 years ago but only played a few rounds a year until this summer. So I'm still a relative beginner. Best Score: 45 - 9 holes, 103 - 18 holes Favorite club in the bag: 5 iron Golf Books / DVD's that have helped you: S&T; Book Where do you play: Courses in Miami. The Kendall area more specifically. Best courses you've played so far: Lely Flamingo(Naples) and Miccosukee Golf Course(Miami). Things you enjoy most about golf: It's relaxing to me. I have fun. I love the aspect of constantly being able to improve. I just love being out on the course and leaving all my worries and responsibilities for the time. Goals for 2K10: Just get better. I don't have a specific number I'm trying to reach. I would like to be able to shoot in the mid-90's with relative consistency. The one club I want to improve the most is definitely my driver. I have so much more confidence about my overall game when I hit good drives.
  12. Thanks guys I'm going to work on those things.
  13. I haven't taken a lesson since my first a couple weeks ago. It's not that I've decided against taking lessons, I just happened to think the pro I was taking lessons from wasn't good at all. He seemed very disinterested in helping me. Instead of telling me why I was topping balls he would just say "you topped it, try again." And for when I hit slices, "close the club face". I am hesitant to try another pro down here unless I know he's really good. The only one I know that is really good is the Jim McLean golf school at Doral which costs and arm and a leg. I've also been reading Stack & Tilt book and the DVDs are on the way. I think getting a lesson from someone who teaches a traditional swing approach would be counter intuitive.
  14. I posted my videos a few days ago and got very few comments. Guess I'm not popular enough. :) I only have the FO right now.
  15. Where did you read that your swing speed should be 105 mph? That's a pretty fast swing for most amateurs. I'm not expert on this matter but I believe if you improve technique and your shoulder/hip turn you can generate more speed without consciously having to swing harder.
  16. It doesn't look like you are generating a ton of club head speed but that is a nice swing for a beginner. You should be very happy with 260 yard drives provided they aren't hit deep into the trees.
  17. Where is Bubba now in the Ryder Cup points standings?
  18. I'm getting rather frustrated with myself. A very large majority of my drives are going 100 yards on the ground to the left. When I take a slow practice swing I noticed that the club face is closed and the face is severely delofted through the impact zone(makes sense). I know what I'm doing wrong and yet still can't fix it. Can anyone help? Thanks.
  19. Congrats to Kaymer.
  20. So brutal.
  21. That definitely didn't look like a bunker to me.
  22. I can't exactly figure out why, but I definitely don't want boring old Elkington to win this thing.
  23. I told a buddy this morning before Kaymer teed off that he was going to win it outright by a few strokes. Keep making me look smart, Martin.
  24. Outstanding deal they have going. This course is brutally tough(for me at least).
  25. Tugglife2

    I suck.

Regardless of whether you are a scratch or a 30, since when is posting a round 3 or 4 strokes over your handicap considered terrible? Isn't that actually standard?
