Yes it is 7 par3's and 2 par4's. Most par 3's are in the 150 range with one about 90 and two about 200 the par 4's are both 270 a piece but the fairway is as tight as most the 3's. The double bogey was a drive that went into the woods and required me to chip out then get up and down but I missed the green from about 40ish yards on the first par4. Handicap is a 9 hole handicap from a weekly 9hole league at a full length course.

Honestly, divot duty is something we assign to the retards who cant handle simple tasks like raking sandtraps and operating some basic machinery. My boss and former pro/professional greenskeeper has absolutely nothing wrong with people playing 2 sometimes 3 balls on our course. Most of them keep pace with 2somes and 4somes infront of them and we dont consider each divot they take as insulting our hard work. This guy is blowing hot air and I have no idea who he may know that works on a course that feels the same way he does.... If I saw a scratch golfer hitting 3 shots I'd be watching how well he hit him, not lamenting over the 3 extra divots we have to fill.

Sigh... Worked on a course for years I've seen quite a bit. 1) Two old ladies drove a cart right into a brook. Literally its the only brook on the members only course and they both knew damn well exactly where it was. They both climb out un-harmed and walk right up to my friend and I who saw the disaster and demand we remove said cart from the brook. Laughing hysterically, we met with their demands and called the pro to report the damage. 2) Driving behind two coworkers as we remove debris from a wooded fairway area. The other two were in our 'suped up' dump cart, the both hoped in and the driver floored it. The passenger was lifted up out of his seat by a low lying branch that hit him and dumped him out next to the cart. He was fine, we all laughed hysterically. 3) Driving down a rainsoaked fairway I locked up the brakes and steered hard right. The cart executed a perfect 360 (did not damage the fairway... knew what I was doing somewhat), my friend being surprised by the sudden turn of events proceeded to eject himself from the cart and landed hard in a puddle of mud/rain. Once again hysterical laughter ensued. The op's story is horrifying though... Makes me question how close some of those experiences could have been to being downright awful.

Hey guys, At about a 24hcp all of a sudden yesterday I shot 3 over on 9 holes it was an executive course with par 29, but no bull-shit I swear. Not really sure how I should handle this as its probably the best round I've had/will ever have. I played with an older gent I know who told me to try chipping with a 9 iron as he saw my first couple practice shots flubbed with a sw on the practice green. Also to keep it "low and slow" on the backswing, those two things are really the only thing different that I focused on as opposed to my normal round. Chipping with the 9iron in particular saved me a lot of shots. I went out and shot 7 pars a double bogey and a single bogey. Kind of ecstatic at the thought, but a little worried about the dissapointment my next round is sure to bring. So my question to the ST is how do you low handicap golfers remain consistent and keep up the good play all the time? When I am almost clueless as to how to repeat such an effort.

Beginner Golfer...Do I need a Sand Wedge or Lob Wedge?
BostonSully replied to PARfect's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'd say have a pitching wedge and sandwedge. The 60* is more of a specialty club imo and you can pretty much do everything you can with a LW with a SW. If you are very new the LW is not necessary and adjusting for it might just be worse than learning to play one club better. -
Distance improvement question
BostonSully replied to Colicab's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
God, I really hope the capitals dont win. Not because I dont like OVI, I do. I cannot stand Dale Hunter, disgrace. That and the style of game they play is awful it made that 1st round the most boring 7 game series I have almost ever seen, No forcheck, no pressure in the neutral zone just simply corwding 4 players infront of holtby and praying to win games 1-0. Yeah great hockey. Go FLYERS the only team lef tthat still at least tries to play offense. -
Distance improvement question
BostonSully replied to Colicab's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Honestly I have the opposite problem as you do. At around a 22-24ish HCP I can cream the ball with my driver. I've clocked a few over 300 this year and probably average around 270 or so. But when I drive a ball on a 350 par4 and I have less than 100 to go I still can struggle to get the Pars. I really wouldn't worry about distance, i've always been a big athletic hockey player so for me distance came first and I'm trying to work out control. I think that if I had control first and figured out distance I'd be in a much better spot. Dont worry about what other players are doing, last night I tied my friend who 2 ironed off of every tee because he doesn't like his driver. Distance is overrated except for on the odd 550+ par 5s. -
Congrats Man! I just joined the club. I played my first real round of golf IE not with my hacker friends last week. I played with a 7hcp, 15hcp and 25hcp. When we walked up onto the first tee box there was probably about 15-20 people watching us and the other three guys state their handicap for scoring and ask me what mine is. I say I have no idea so they just give me an 18 for a stroke a hole. I was pretty nervous and then the 7hcp boosts one about 290 straight down the fairway. I step up and managed to put a good drive about 250-260 down the fairway and walk away shaking from the nerves. The 15 and 25 both shanked and I instantly felt the pressure relieved. At the end of the day I wound up shooting a 97 on my first round scored by the books and couldnt be happier, one birdy and several pars and I felt great. I even beat the other 2 guys while the 7 hcper shot low 80's. Played 9 the next day and shot 9 over. Tons of confidence right now I want to break 90 by midseason!

PING Eye 2s Are the Best Irons Ever Created
BostonSully replied to famousdavis's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Ive resisted the troll bait till now. But his was fantaztic I especially love how humble and modest the OP was in describing his exceptional golf game. I wonder what he thinks of the I 3 Irons? -
Is what I wound up having to yell at someone doing the "grazing buffalo" walking down the fairway of my hole looking for their ball. It was literally 10 minutes that this guy was wondering down our fairway walking back and forth looking for his ball. It was also blatantly obvious that the 10 minute delay to tee off on this hole was due to his groups slow @$$ play. Of course after I yelled it he tried to wave me on to hit standing exactly 240-260 yds away from the tee dead in the middle of my fairway, to wich I replied "Drop OR somethign! YOU GO!".. He dropped hit and wandered off. So my question to you sandtrappers is at what point is it appropriate to call out your fellow golfers in such a way?

Honestly I dont get that deal. Is philly rebuilding? doesn make sense to me. I was seriously worried about philly next year but now IDK what to think.

I have a repressed memory that just came too. When I was like 10 or so years old, my mom thought that Golf Lessons would be a good way to keep me away from the N64 in the afternoons. So I had my junior clubs and we were in a group lesson with about 20 kids or so. It was a brutal 100+ outside and I was sweating alot. Of course I didnt have a glove or anything and the instructor wasn't ever around much. I took a huge swing with my iron and SWOOOOOSHHHHH it goes flying out of my hand. About 150ft behind and 30ft in the Air. It landed on the aluminum roof of the Tractor barn behind me which made the loudest noise imaginable and I swear everyone at the course stopped and tried to figure out what just happened. The only person who saw it was me was my buddy so we both just kind of kept our mouths shut lol!

Somewhere he's in a mental asylum re living the 400 10ft putts he hit on his basement rug and the horror he felt when he tried a real green and had no idea why his "practice" hadn't helped.

At the course I used to work at their is the main road to the clubhouse that runs inbetween the first and second holes. I had just started golfing so I was pretty horrendously bad. The club had just hired a new Landscaper to a hundred thousand dollar contract to maintain the Condos on the property and right as I hit my tee shot on the first his brand new fully decked out Ford F250 comes rolling down the road and my high slice is heading right for it. I had visions of cracking the windshield but luckily my ball landed right in the bed of his truck and im not sure if it bounced out or stayed in there because he didnt stop and I didnt want to go looking, just pretended like it never happened lol.

No your doing this wrong... Title should be "My drive goes 300yds average uphill in the rain" Seriously though: Umm does it go straight? Do you get 100 straight and 50 yds right or 150 dead straight? WIthout more information people here cant help you much more than a few general pointers. What do you think the problem is?

Havent had a chance to post yet because I've been in Las Vegas sense Monday and man it was a blast. Watched that GM7 at Lagasse Stadium it was the closest to being at the game w/o being there I have ever experienced. B's fans going Nuts, Nucks fans leaving in shame. It was epic. They were Booing Bettman, which is hillarious. Congratz B's, I wonder who had them as a favorite in the first post of this thread hmmmmmmm.....

Where you get the gamers on sale?

Question is in the title. Around this time of year the courses I play have a lot of low lying branches and most shots not in the fairways on Par4s require some sort of knockdown or punch shot to keep the ball low enough to not hit branches etc.. So can someone please explain to me the difference between the 2 and how and when you would approach each shot and the adjustments you make to alter the trajectory and swing for each shot. Thanks kindly - BS

I always root for the team that beats the B's in the PO's unless its the Habs. Last year I was rooting for the flyers after that epic fail by the B's. I think its better to be beaten by the best. But aboot the SCF, I think if the Bruins had 1 legit star scorer a'la Crosby/OV/Malkin/Kane/Perry etc... this series is over. The fact that they lost 3 games in VAN by goal is proof of this IMO, I just wish that Julien had developed Seguin this year and that maybe he would be closer to being that kind of player because the B's are in dire need of someone like that right now. The kid only saw 4mins through 2periods last night despite playing well in mostly all Bruins fans minds and im full confused about what CJ is trying to accomplish playing Recchi/Ryder/Campbell as a PP unit. Our coach is Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde he is either completely genius or seemingly inept and very frustating. But Go B's I really cant stand the VAN players at this point, I mean show some class for gods sake. Luongo trashing on thomas after he plays 1 good game and thomas lets in 1 flukey goal, Rome blaming Horton for getting hurt its just really really classless. I mean I may hate a team worse than I hate the habs at this point. At least the Habs players arent complete D'Bags to the media. Im feeling a close win for the B's tomorrow and a gutwrencher in GM7. GO B's!!!!!

I lol'd/ I know how the OP feels. Today I had a legitamate chance to beat my friend who's probably around a 10-11 HCP. He hit is ball OB 30yds on the first tee shot then shanked his 2nd to where my drive landed on the rightside rough. I managed to miss the leftside of the green chip on and 3 putt while he took 2 shots to get on then 1 putt'd. Next hole I was on the green about 25ft on the hardest par4 hole on the course and he managed to chip his 4th shot to 5 feet. 1 Putt'd and beat me somehow. After that I just blew up, I only shot one par on the round and 1 bogey the rest were double/triple bogey's. I just focused on the fact that even though it was a horrid round I hit some really nice long hybrids and chipshots. Focus on what you doing well and remember to practice what you arent. Its all practice and nomatter how good you are you'll be frustrated you arent playing better, the scratch golfer that misses a 12ft par putt is just as mad as the 36capper who duffs the ball 4x straight., So think of it that way everyone is always frustrated but we always keep coming back WTF is with that?

lol I try to. But when the Balls are flying like Shrapnel its more like Mental Toughness and Self Preservation.
