  1. Pretty much.
  2. That will be sure to get you some good Karma points!
  3. You're one of those "I gotta see it to believe it!" type guys aren't ya?
  4. Gisele Bundchen and a Ferrari - Now this is the best post so far. I win.
  5. Soooo....I'm not sure if you are serious here. There is absolutely no comparison to the OP picking up a Penta at a range and a Bentley. Do you really expect someone to speak to a club pro about the ball, then talk to the police, and then place a lost and found ad in the paper? You would be laughed at and ridiculed every step of the way. That is a complete waste of time and resources for a $3-$4 item. And I know that you can't be serious about returning to find a lost tee. LOL I don't even know why I'm responding to this except that I find it so utterly absurd that I need to get it off my chest.
  6. I'm really having a hard time believing that you see the theft of a golf club the same way you see the op picking up a penta that is clearly not a range ball. Have you ever picked up a lost ball on a course? Using your rationalization that would be an equally egregious act. Have you ever played more holes than the 18 you actually paid for? Using the type of legalistic rationalization you have implied is more of a slippery slope than anything the op did.
  7. You way over swing. Shorten the backswing up. You take the club back way too far outside/steep. Try taking the club back more inside and lower. That will put you in a better position at the top. You appear to flip the club head through impact, which causes a poor, glancing blow. You should work on getting your hands in front of the ball at impact. You want to have a flat right wrist through impact, and yours is bending/cupping. There are several threads on this forum and numerous books/videos that can give you some good drills for that.
  8. I would have no problem sticking that Penta in my bag. In fact, I wouldn't have a problem telling the owner/operator of the range that I had done so. It's not the range's property anymore than the unbroken tees lying around are range property. That ball could have been accidentally hit, or a stray ball from the course. It's a little too high and mighty to call that theft in my opinion. If it's not a range ball then it's not the range's ball. Do you consider picking up a lost ball on a course stealing from the course?
  9. Well, if I intended to post the score to my handicap then I would have to go back to the tee and take the necessary penalty.
  10. I love to hunt almost as much as I love to golf. I've been in the deer stand every weekend this so far this month. Thrill of the hunt baby! Love it.
  11. Best shot of the week was my second on a par five. I had about 195 to the hole and I hit a high fade with my 5 wood to about 12 feet from the pin. Then I went on to make the putt for eagle.
  12. I think it would be helpful to get rid of 18 hole rates. Keep nine hole rates for those that don't want to play a full round but charge a flat rate for anyhing over nine holes. Meaning, if you want to play 36 holes in a day you don't have to pay a second time. 18 holes or 36 holes or all the golf you can get in for one price.
  13. No, it's more as if you are making me sound like I'm saying that. What I said is exactly what I meant. I don't understand why Rymer thinks those things are necessary for the game of golf. I also don't understand the type of play he has described. It does not sound enjoyable to me. I like my steak medium rare, but others prefer well done. I don't try to tell them they aren't eating steak, but I'm also not afraid to tell them that I think mine tastes better.
  14. The kind of golf you play is foreign to me and makes about as much sense to me as the ten ways to change golf Rymer has suggested. I prefer to relish every hole, every shot, every opportunity, every rule, every round, etc. I enjoy looking for and finding my wayward drive, and then hitting a rescue shot to get the ball in play. I love to line up my putt and see the ball sink into the hole. I actually play very quickly myself, but I don't mind the long rounds either. Golf is a wonderful game in it's most pure form and I love to enjoy it as such.
  15. Was this man paid to write this crap? There is nothing wrong with the way golf is right now in my opinion. Yes, there are bad apples that give the game a black eye, ie: slow players, drunks, cheaters, etc. But do not turn my sport into a joke by digging huge holes in the green and asking me to start play on hole number 12. For god sakes what is wrong with this man? Does he actually play the game of golf? My guess is no since anyone who actually plays and enjoys the game would never suggest any of those ideas. I really really hope someone let him know how ridiculous this article was. I am just floored that anyone who actually plays the game could seriously suggest these things. I'm going to vomit.
  16. Superfast is a decent stick. I play the 09 burner and find it to be extremely long and forgiving. A buddy has about the same swing speed as you and he plays the R9. He hit both on the monitor and the R9 waaaay outperformed the superfast.

    "Urban" Golf

Wow! That is some really amazing stuff. A good deal of that can be credited to practice, but even more of it is pure skill. Some of those chip shots were very impressive. Really cool video!
  18. Something kinda strange about that response....
  19. For me, I'll look at whatever line on the ball is the cleanest and straightest. Callaway and Nike balls dictate that I make a line myself as their logos are wacky. Titleist is easy for me to line up with the logo, as is Taylormade and Topflite. I generally use the logo and not the alignment mark they make for you. I line this up with the white line on my Anser and then I visualize a line with the break going from the putter to the hole. I never seem to get the break right if I pick a spot.
  20. Saturday I played with two guys I'd never met and shot my personal best 74. That included a 1 under 35 on the front nine. I eagled the par 5 9th hole too! These guys were really laying on the compliments and even played a scramble between the two of them to see if they could beat me on one hole the back nine. They weren't any good so I had no problem beating them with my 39 on the back. It was fun but also pressure packed because they kept saying how good I was. (And I kept expecting to come back to earth haha!)
  21. Thanks, and great job to you too! I was only disappointed with the 39 because I was so close to shooting par or even under par. Just made some silly mistakes that cost me the chance, but believe me I am totally pumped about exceeding my goal for the summer. Yes, Oklahoma weather does allow for year round play. We get some pretty nasty winter weather (ice and snow and extreme cold) but the next week may be in the 50's and 60's! Last December I played one day when it was over 80 degrees!
  22. "sorry you didn't like our stuff" is how it seemed to me. They would have been better off wearing mickey mouse ponchos.
  23. The recent and current taylormade superlaunchers are disgusting looking. Most ping irons hurt my eyes, and 99% of Callaway irons look like sin. Most GI and SGI irons are hideous IMO.
  24. Oh and I've played about 10 different courses.
  25. What makes golf writing good?
