I was trying to punch out hard from trees, I had a good 40 yards to punch out. I hit a tree infront of me and came rocketing back right at my head really fast. I had fast reflexes and ducked just in time. I laughed.

Describe each hole and what club you hit on each
Dent replied to Eore's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Home Course - Meadows GC - Links Course I'll only descrive the front. 1st hole- 544 YD Par 5 Dogleg Right Driver, cut across the hole and end up in the rough (don't really mind as it considerably cuts the hole) Usually will hit a 6 or 7 iron on my second shot. Will sometimes hit in 2 and 2 putt for birdie, or will miss the green by a bit and chip. 2nd hole - 335 Par 4 Huge lake on the left side: Really tight fairway, trees on the right. I'll hit a 4 iron, and if the pin is tucked behind the water I won't go for it, but usually aim for the centre of the green. My approach shot will be usually an 8 iron, I'll rarely get a GIR on that hole, its really hard. 3rd Hole - 372 Yard Par 4 Trees on the left and right, bunkers on the right, tight fairway. I usually hit driver on this hole and play a nice fade, almost always on the fairway, easy PW from about 110 gives me a nice GIR and I'll 2 putt for par. 4th Hole 558 YD PAR 5. Dogleg right, very hilly around the rough, lots of bunkers as well. If I go for fairway I'll hit it to far and over the fairway, so I cut the corner and land in the rough, which again I don't mind because it cuts a bit of distance off. I'll lay up with a 6 iron, fairway is tight below the green, Easy wedge shot close gives me a GIR 5th hole 147 YD Par 3 Water all in the front, green slopes toward the water, green is above the tee as well. Very deceiving because the hole looks like a 100 yard hole when in fact its a lot further, people always get screwed with their club selection. 6th Hole 462 YD Par 4 Dogleg left Again, driving for fairway can leave me over it and in the rough. An easy repeat of the last par 5 because bunkers cover the rough where I cut the corner, don't mind, getting in rough, leaves me short distance to the hole. usually a 7 iron approach. Hard green to hit, will usually miss. 7th Hole, 325 Yd Par 4 Easily drivable, but like hole 2, trees on the left, lake on the right. really tight fairway so really hard to drive. I'll hit a 4 iron, which usually leaves me about 130-140 out, will usually be using 9i or PW on my approach, really small green and slopes towards the water, pin selection is always tough, usually above the water. 8th Hole 186 Yard Par 3 Really deceiving again, looks like a 150 YD Par 3 and club selection can really screw with you, I'll usually hit a 6. Rarely will hit GIR. Chip on and either bogey or par. 9th Hole 414 Yard Par 4 Small dogleg left, no corner cutting here, bunkers on both sides of the rough. Green is almost hidden by hills. Driver will usually leave me a good 7 or 8 iron out, large green. but really sloped. When it's windy on this course, good luck shooting a good score, this course is almost impossible when its windy. Without wind, the front 9 is still really tough. I'll usually be happy even with a +3. -
I played it and learned it in grade 6 gym class, it is a really fun game to play, and actually hitting the ball is amazing. It's hard to learn at first but then gets really fun, its a really great game.

i sometimes play twilight golf. cheaper rate, $20 for as many holes as you can play with a cart.

I can understand where the OP is coming from though as well. I mean 6,800 is longer than the average course out there, and can get really challenging, but still at times is still not long enough. At my course on the front nine its usually: (assuming I will hit all GIR's) 1) Driver - 6 iron - Wedge 2) 4 Iron - 8 Iron 3) Driver - Wedge 4) Driver - 4 Iron - Wedge 5) 9 Iron 6) Driver - 8 Iron 7) 4 Iron - 8 Iron 8) 6 Iron 9) Driver - 8 Iron Notice how much people will use the 8 iron, it gets really repetitive. Out of 9 holes I'll usually use the 8 iron 4 times, which seems like a lot.

Any experience with Callaway Pre-owned?
Dent replied to 99s's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I noticed that as well, and looking deeper, it seems very unlikely that he went 18 straight pars. But maybe it can be done. I guess it really doesn't matter. But maybe PM him next time instead of going off topic Back on: I looked at Callaway pre-owned and it seems like a lot of their stuff seems pretty beat up. I'd trust them because of their reputation, but because you don't really buy it directly from the seller, it seems iffy to me. -
She is very muscular, I'd have to say not a bit, and nor her sister either.

No offense, but with that handicap, it seems like at your skill level you shouldn't be making those mistakes or having those problems. Maybe post a swing so we can help you further.

When is the best time for buying clubs?
Dent replied to Zeph's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Here is a thread similiar to yours just created. Unfortunatly there are no replies. I do know that TGW.com is constantly having clearance sales now that the season is over. It seems to be during winter that prices drop. http://www.thesandtrap.com/forum/sho...316#post216316 -
What Would You Do: Shaft Selection
Dent replied to erwintrace08's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I always fit myself for the future, if you know your swing speed is going to be faster, than it is obvious to choose the shaft that will greater benefit in the long run. Plus you know your swing is going to be faster, so get the stiff. -
Get a new driver for sure, the bigger driver heads can maximize your performance. Like Lemay said iron technology hasn't greatly increased, older irons are harder to hit, and if you can hit them well, your fine with them.

Sorry but..That is the most useless post ever. What kind of information do you have to contribute to this topic? The OP asked if there was any strategies to use, or what to do. He didn't ask what your results were or If you've ever chipped in from the putting green. That post came off as basically a brag. Although I'm not doing the same, please contribute some info or help to the thread.

Oh Well, apparently after 60 days, if the dispute hasn't been resolved, paypal decides what to do.
-
Obviously he doesn't understand the concepts of a handicap. Of course he just means a standard 15 handicap.

If your course it 6,800 yards, and your hitting an 8 iron in every time it seems like your course isn't layed out very well. There should be atleast a mix of a few long Par 4's in there at 6800 yards. I know at my old home course, each par 4 did leave me a shorter iron in, but there was a couple holes that were extra short to make room for the longer par 4's exceeding 400 yards. I'm sure you'd be hitting long irons into those. Also try hitting something shorter off the tee box. Hit an iron off the tee, pick the club that can leave you 160-200 yards out.

Good tip, Although it does not work for everyone, I have been doing this for about a year, and just recently changed it up. With my putter I won't make good contact if I use this technique, because I have the C-grooves, When i come down I don't make contact with the face of the putter, and results in a mishit, I used to have a strong grip as well. This resulted in a lot of pushes. I read in a book that to ensure great putting, use the lightest grip possible.

Actually, I have, it's really quite funny. My old english teacher had this thing where she went crazy if we spelled the a lot : ALOT with no space. whenever she read aloud, and said the word alot she would say "A SPACE LOT"

I have been using the Tiffany for a couple months now and I think the putter looks amazing. I find each yes! has a different C-groove feel to it, The Tracy II has a larger C-groove face and has a very different feel to it, its a great feeling putter. The tiffany feels nice as well, just has a smaller face.

Filed a dispuite with paypal a couple days ago, and got a reply immediatly from Sub Seventy. The guy agreed it shouldn't have taken that long to ship and that all of the belts are in fact in the stock room ready to ship, so there is no custom order or anything. After that, I still haven't gotten a reply from him on what is going on.

Dent replied to polodinks's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Why not send them in somewhere to get refinished? I'm sure you will feel a little better about them then. -

Dent replied to Dub's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
