  1. I vote "All of the Above"
  2. I took a quick look at the usual places for a Ignite 5i and couldn't find one, so definitely look before you buy the set. It looks like you would probably pay about $50 for a replacement club from a place like ironfinder.com.
  3. I have an old set of Ram Laser FX irons that the 3 and 4 were maybe 1/8" increments off the 5. I could hit that 3 very well. Interestingly on that set the 2 iron was quite a bit longer, I guess it was supposed to be like a driving iron. I have never even tried to hit the 2, I don't know why.
  4. You want to measure as if at address, on a straight line down the shaft to the ground, not to the toe.
  5. Brakkus, glad to hear that they are working so well for you. Being able to hit greens from under 150 should definitely help with scoring.
  6. Seems like if you can really carry it 250 you should be in a stiff shaft. I think 250 carry means your SS is at least 105.
  7. And that's into a headwind!
  8. Don't get down on them before you give them a chance.
  9. Do they make 1 irons with 15* loft? Sounds more like a 0 iron to me, the Hogan Apex 1 iron I had was 18*.
  10. If you think about it there is a pretty good rationale not to let large, armed ships into your ports. You could find yourself blockaded pretty quickly.
  11. How far do hybrids go? For me I can throw them maybe 25 yards if I get my weight shift right.
  12. I bet some of the military contractors (like Blackwater) start getting in on this gig, helicoptering some guards and guns onto and off the ships when they at the edge of international waters.
  13. If you aren't using your Cleveland wedges (which you aren't according to your sig) then it really wouldn't hurt to cut them down, put on some women's grips, and let her try. You could always extend the shafts back.
  14. I'd look to get a driver fitting. It's usually pretty cheap relative to the cost of a new driver, and sometimes they will apply the fitting $ towards the club. It would probably be good to set a budget for yourself before going in.
  15. Golfworks OEM shaft replacement guide lists the 2006 Speed Pro S with the Speeder Pro Graphite shaft. The recommended replacement shaft is a Speeder 757 (special order). I have no idea what "special order" means, I haven't seen that in the guide before. edit: I think maybe they just mean that they (Golfworks) don't usually carry the Speeder shafts.
  16. Man, I can't imagine spending that much for iron shafts. I got my Rifle graphite shafts on ebay for $40 for the SET.
  17. What weights did you have in the KE4s? Since the lofts match the Deep Red II Tours it seems really strange that you would lose so much distance.
  18. If you really have the SS for an X, and can control it, then I think there are a lot of people who would be happy to have your "problem."
  19. For some strange reason I never have good luck when I buy more expensive shoes, regular or golf. I happened to find a good deal on my Adidas spikes (less than $50) and they are more comfortable than all of my dress or casual shoes, and even in Portland winter I haven't had any problems with water seepage. I wish I could find another pair just like them in a different color.
  20. Dang it, I got almost all the way through this thread and thought I would get the Cheapskate Award with my $19.99 Never Compromise!
  21. Not at the range, but if I'm paired up with someone I will check out what they are playing. Talking about clubs is sometimes a nice topic to chit chat about.
  22. First of all I would say that you are doing very well for someone who has played for 7 months without lessons. Basically you and I score similarly and I have been playing for several years. As far as your distances I think your length is not your limiter. You are basically scoring at a bogey golf level but your distances exceed the general assumptions about a bogey player. The assumptions from the USGA are: For the purpose of rating the golf course, the male scratch golfer is defined as someone who can hit their tee shots an average of 250 yards (including carry and roll) and can reach a 470-yard hole in two shots at sea level. The female scratch golfer can hit her average drive a total of 210 yards and reach a 400-yard hole in two shots. A male bogey golfer has a course handicap of approximately 20 and can hit his average drive a total of 200 yards and reach a 370-yard hole in two shots at sea level, while the female bogey golfer has a course handicap of approximately 24, hits her average tee shot 150 yards with roll and can reach a 280-yard hole in two shots. My distances are maybe a little longer than yours, but my problem is accuracy. Keep it in the fairway, hit the green, don't leave long lags.
  23. Finally starting to dry out. I don't mind much though, the courses are empty in winter. I couldn't take the heat in AZ, that's for sure. I would probably get heat stroke at 7am!
  24. FWIW In the places I've checked in my area it is maybe $50 for a driver fitting, and they will usually credit that towards a purchase.
