Clubs for tour players are completely expendable. Look at this: http://www.titleist.com/teamtitleist/b/tourblog/archive/2011/08/12/update-rory-mcilroy-s-titleist-mb-7-iron.aspx

Jeez between all the lip outs, missed 5-10fters Tiger could been closer to 20ish or so under. He easily could have won. I think he's certainly on the right track right now. Cant wait to see him and my favorite player Steve Stricker paired up !

looks like a standard 2ball, right?
-
I want those shoess SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD!!
-
Ya 160 to the left rough. Saw that too. Anyone know what happened?!
-
I live pretty near Kennisington, I play it frequently. And it's number 1?! I think not. I cannot believe Boulder Creek didn't make the list! BC could easily be in the top 5 public courses in Ohio. I also play Firestone Farms quite often...and it's just another typical public course. This list is garbage.
-
Why is slow play such an issue? What are they holding up?
-
I try to mimic Steve Strickers in a way. I really dont though. I just like the simplicity and naturalness of his swing. Wish I could do something similar.

Does it matter what grit sandpaper? Or just get the chrome off?
-
And last question. I understand that you have to sand the tips of graphite shafts before applying epoxy, do I do the same for steel?
-
Thank you so much! Everyone here is SOOO helpful. I love it! And tip: clubhead end Butt: grip end right?
-
Ok thanks. These shafts here: http://www.golfsmith.com/products/2033I/Apollo/Acculite_Standard_Stepless_Iron_Shaft So I need -.5 inch shafts, just because of arm length/height. Here's the chart: Flex 3 Iron 4 Iron 5 Iron 6 Iron 7 Iron 8 Iron 9/PW/SW Iron Regular 0" 1/2" 1" 1 1/2" 2" 2 1/2" 3" Stiff 1" 1 1/2" 2" 2 1/2" 3" 3 1/2" 4" So I cut the .5 off the butt, before gripping, but first 1inch(5iron) from the tip before before putting the shaft in the head. Then wouldnt that make my 5 iron 1.5 inches shorter than normal? This where Im confused...
-
Im about to buy a few Apollo steel iron shafts from Golf Smith, and in options it says regular/Stiff Flex. I need regular. So to make them regular flex, I cut from the grip end? Im confused on this.

MPS67 , Thanks so much. Had a short range session early and really tried to implement some of the new techniques. Ill have a video up shortly. Sean Miller, Already addressed that. It was a mere typo. Meant to say 40.
-
WOW. I meant 40...My bad. I really appreciate your input however, not 100 percent sure what some of the terms you mentioned mean. ott? And standing further from the ball would benefit me? And clearing my hips?
-
Im about a 20ish handicap. I have the typical high capper slice. I experience misshits, super chunky, scald, duff etc. I shoot mid 40's though 9. Broke 30 once this summer. I've been playing since about last June. So a little over a year. So tell me what you guys think. And obviously, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

Annoying Things Golfers Say and Do on the Course
domc36 replied to Lag Rag's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
When players completely misshit a shot, and say something like "Jeez, that's what happen when you try and add more lag mid-round". Dude shut up, you misshit the shot, get over it. -
Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?

Gamer V2's!! Finally tried them. I probably will be playing these for a long time. -
Tiger is the biggest jerk in the world. Doesnt deserve the gallery he gets. He smiled one time through out his round. And it was when he came out of the port-a-potty 2min before his teetime. Johnny Vegas tossed me a ball though!

Ill be there tomorrow! Really hoping Tiger can do some serious scoring

As a higer handicap player, I feel as though being able to sucessfuly manage yourself around the golf course is an easy way to knock off a significant amount of strokes to your score with out changing swing mechanics. The opening hole at my home course is an incredibly short Par 4. At just a mere 289 yards I rarely and I mean RARELY hit anything more than my 2hybrid off the tee. It's an extremely easy hole where the only trouble is the right side where there's heavy rough and many trees. This trouble is located about 260 yards from the tee. I hit my 2hybrid about 210 and this puts me in absolutly perfect position with about a gap wedge. I see too many times players try to drive this hole and fail miserabley and find themselves taking a 6 or 7 on this easy opening hole when a 4 or 5 or even 3 is extremely easy to obtain with some safe play. The second hole here is also an awfully easy Par 4 if you play it safe. It's another shorter par 4, about 355. It's a dog leg LEFT. On the right about 4 paces off the fairway plus the cart path is a rather large lake. To be at the 150 marker and have a look at the green you have to hit about a 200yd Tball. I usually take 2Hybrid off the and that leaves me with about 150 or so to the center of the green-a smooth 7iron. I see many players try to cut the corner and fail and either slice into the lake or land among the trees that line the left side of the dogleg. SMH at this kind of play. This entire course is actually rather short, it's only about 5800 yards. I rarely take, or even need, driver off any tee here. I dont even take driver off the par 5's, with how short I am It's close to impossible to reach any of them into, so I just lay up to 90-100yds.

Please do not play stupid in his defense. The post is clearly refering to black atheletes in other sports. He mentions terms like Busting caps, making it rain.
-
This is literally the most racist post I have ever read. When have you ever read an article reffering to a proffesional athlete from any other sport busting caps, or running the wife over with a hummer? I'm not sure if your subtle racism is an attempt at humor but what ever it is, it's not funny. Quite the opposite actually. It's rather offensive if you ask me. And Id certainly rather have Vince Young getting in a scuffle at a Strip Bar or Mike Vick fighting dogs, than hearing about Robert Garrigus and other Nationwide tour members smoking Canabis in a portajohn at an event. Atleast Vince Young's atlercation was at a club far away from the eyes of children. There are kids and young adults alike at any given PGA tour event who easily could have saw or even smelled what the players were doing in the portajohns.
