  1. I actually played with a guy not too long ago, who was so annoying, that I walked off the course after 9. It was 3 days before Thanksgiving and I was in my home town visiting my parents for the holiday. I go to the course, pay my green fee and cart fee, and get ready to go. I was chipping and putting before I teed off, and an elderly guy came up to me and asked if he could join me. He seemed nice enough, so I said, "sure." Low and behold, this was the most annoying golfer I had ever met. He basically just commented on every swing I took and tried to give me tips along the way (mind you, he was so bad that he didn't finish a single hole). He just got under my skin so bad, that I left after 9.
  2. Euro: Luke Donald Rory McIlroy US: Dustin Johnson Tiger Woods Favorite swing to watch: Luke Donald
  3. That hole in one in Arizona was as perfect as it gets
  4. No, it doesn't mean nothing, it means exactly what I said. It will indeed stiffen your shaft, even if it is a "minute" amount. This being said, the OP wants to cut off an inch and a half, which in turn, would have a greater effect than a "minute" amount on the stiffness of the club.
  5. Cutting a shaft does indeed stiffen it! Don't be fooled! Try this little experiment: 1. Get a toothpick 2. Break it in half 3. Grab one of it's halves and break it in half 4. Now grab one of it's halves and break it in half You should be seeing that the toothpick is becoming more and more difficult to break or even bend. Same theory goes for when you cut a shaft down, regardless of how much you take away from it.
  6. Ya, the 53s are rather progressive
  7. Wow that thing is ugly...
  8. I guess I really didn't add as much to the thread as I should have, so here it goes: Let me begin by saying that I absolutly hate super mach speed drivers, in particular, the TM Superfast. I couldn't hit the side of a red barn, on cloudless Kansas summer morning with that thing if I wanted to. Just something about it makes it incredibly difficult for me to close the face. So her comes the new Adams Speedline. The two top things that I love about it, is that it doesn't look like a "Superfast" driver, and it doesn't seem to feel absolutly weightless in my hands. It is not heavy by any means, but unlike the TM, you know its there in your hands. It has a very traditional, and somewhat deep face to it that I adore, but the real winner here, however, is the shaft. I was actually fitted for the R.I.P shaft on a launch moniter fitting, and I absolutly love the performance of it. It just feels rock solid, and in turn, I have never been more accurate with a big stick than I am with this driver. The adjustable face model is a fun piece of equipment that lets you play with your trajectories, but be forewarned, it does have a unique sound to it at impact. It doesn't bother me, but it may bother others. The looks, feel, and performance is just unmatched in my opinion. If youre looking for "Superfast" driver that is classic looking, easy to hit, and long, then I would wager that you have no need to look any further for a boom stick. Go to your local shop and try one out!
  9. Haha, Im jealous of you Florida guys!
  10. Please do, Im tired of the fighting to be honest
  11. wow...got to love the internet
  12. 3 wood, 7i, and a putter for me
  13. snob! But really, does buying an extra set of clubs ranging from $200-$400 really make one a snob? Sorry but Im just not bringing my Mizunos to the South Pacific/Atlantic/Persian Golf anytime soon
  14. Im gaming it right now. Best driver Ive ever hit by far.
  15. I find 34" to be just right. I played 35" and 33", but 34" seems to fit me best. I think maybe it has something to do with being closer to the ball.
  16. No, right on, I understand. For woods, wedges and a putter Im covered. Ive got gear from way back when that I dont mind busting up. I just dont have any other iron sets, just the 53s. I'm trying to hunt around for some used clubs that would be nice, but I saw that Golf Galaxy had Tour Burners and X20s on the cheap at the moment (Especially when you figure in all my gift cards and reward points I have for GG).
  17. Well the reason I want a backup, forgiving, durable set is because I am a United States Marine, and I often find myself out at sea on floats away from home. I'm sure that it may be hard for some of you to imagine, but life at sea is rough (especially on amphib ships), and a lot of the places I'll be visting and playing golf at are sometimes sketchy and rough locations. If I brought my $900, custom fit, Mizuno MP-53's out to sea with me, well lets just say that it would certainly not be beneficial to the clubs, or my investment. I'd like to have a set for at home that I can keep nice (the MP-53s), and a set that I can travel the world with that can get banged up a bit, without me worrying if they get lost, busted or stolen. I hope that answers all the other questions so that we can now get back to my original question.
  18. What would you pick of these two? TM Tour Burners, or Callaway X-20's? Im looking for something that is very forgiving, durable, and easy to hit.
  19. I thought the CG15 also came with conforming grooves
  20. Thanks for the heads up guys! Any word on the 630 Drivers?
  21. I've been eyeballing a new 3 wood and 2 hybrid, and I was kind of looking at the current Mizuno line. Only problem is, I don't have a golf shop near by that keeps Mizuno woods in stock. Anyways, any advise or testimonials would be great!
  22. Got the irons today and theyre perfect. Mizuno earned a customer for life
  23. My sweet baby lord Jesus!!! We have a winner here!!!
  24. The great thing about pings, is that they have serial numbers and are very easy to find out if they are legitimate ping clubs or not.
