  1. I said the same thing about Tiger And then, the winning stopped.
  2. Good ole carts are loud when you drill them with a golf ball! If only you had hit it in the pouch :) Yowzer!
  3. Can't imagine you hitting it sideways all day! * Those golfers who look for balls in water holes and edges of the weeds when they haven't even lost their ball - slowing everyone down! * Golfers who don't embrace the experience of golf experience in all of its joys (e.g. hitting it flush) and travails. (e.g. Golf = a good walk spoiled). What a great thing that we get to play a wonderfully challenging and complex game for multiple decades in a culture that celebrates amateur sports. * Golfers who do not fix their ball marks on the greens - or find one to fix!
  4. Rickie looked so composed and focused. I would love to know what "changed" in his putting approach (thoughts) that helped him start draining the putts again. Random thoughts on the opening round. I have the round on dvr - finishing it up this morning. 1. McIlroy hitting so many fairways is always a good thing. 2. Looks like a fun course. 3. Does Windham Clark have the same putter as Rickie? 4. Harman's 60 on the front nine is amazing. 5. The old guys may well lack some gas while walking the undulating course by the end of the weekend.
  5. Beautiful day - best 18 of the year for me! What was the name of that course we played near Akron?
  6. Tuesday morning senior's league - shot a 35. I think that going to Little Mountain with the TST group upped my game. Kind of like endurance training First time ever having 3 birdies in a competitive round (so that was a thing). 2 bogies (not a new thing). I am almost believing that I am finding my swing again after 10 years out of the game. 5 Fairways 7 Greens in Regulation
  7. The membership rates for me finally went down --- hitting 59 yrs of age has its privileges. My home course is 7 miles away (country driving) and provides for a lot of golf for a decent price. The course raised its price a couple of dollars for weekdays and has been busy. Covid golf seasons brought out a bunch of newer golfers in our area. Enjoy!
  8. One on the ground .... wow. That would make my heart skip a beat or two!
  9. Thanks to Stu for working on the details and getting plans setup for the Michigan conflagration (Ooops, for the Michigan cohort). Looking forward to meeting you and golfing in whatever group is decided. Thanks to the several others who have put in the effort to make this a reality. Thanks to Iacas for getting the great weather lined up. I really didn't know if he could do that, but at this point, I am greatly impressed
  10. These short videos are intriguing. Fortunately, they can or can't get stuck in your head. This one intrigues me. I'm not gonna lie.

  11. These were almost all going in at one point. No pressure practice. Good stroke. Good putt.

  12. You deserve an upvote for that singular accomplishment.
  13. If you hate the line options, how do you feel about the two-colored balls? I can bring some awful looking Sricon Z Stars to the golf outing 😆
  14. It is 35° outside this morning and am waiting til it warms to 40° to get out to the course to practice.
  15. Welcome! There is a lot of depth here on TST. Enjoy your spring golf.
  16. Sounds like a winning combination. Thanks.
  17. Other than experiencing the joy of playing out of the sand in North Carolina and Florida, I enjoy Michigan bunkers which tend to have less-than-ideal sand in them. It struck me the other day when I was hitting out of one of these on Wednesday that there might be "a better way" to play out of heavier, course sand. Would appreciate any insights you have. * Michigan = 78 degrees for the last 4 days. Upper 40's for the next week.
  18. Hope that works. I found some Keen waterproof hiker shoes in EEE that have decent (course friendly) traction to work with me after my surgery. Don't know if that could be of help.
  19. I feel for you and hope you have the opportunity to slow the progression of your AS. Did they offer you better pain meds? Though they can dull your senses and make you sleepy there is a ton of pain relief that could be gained with tramadol (pain relief through anti-inflammatory properties) percocet. Another procedure that is often overlooked especially when you have appointments with neurosurgeons (as they usually just want to surgically "fix ya") is RFA. Radio Frequency Ablation - is a pain-relieving process in which they insert hollow needles along your spine identifying sensory nerves (not motor nerves that control your movement) under fluoroscopy. You are awake, mildly sedated, and then they "burn" the nerve - stopping the nerve from sending a pain signal to your pain. My procedures were very beneficial dropping my felt pain by 70% and lasted for between 11 and 14 months. Loving golf is a serious condition. Hope you are able to get some help.
  20. Thanks for your input. I did not think about recording anything as I didn't expect anything to truly happen. Someday I'll get a couple swings uploaded to the members forum.
  21. Feeling a little stoked. Having had to take a break from golf for nearly 7 years, I bought some new sticks and fumbled my way around many courses and had a great time of it. Tonight, I got to the outside range for the first time (65 degrees and wind = a good spring day in Michigan). Hit crisp wedges and short irons. Struggled with the 4 & 5 irons - tucked a towel under my left arm and shazam - I found my swing. Nice ball flight. Good direction and distance. Didn't feel like I was fighting the club. I know that this has been a drill for a long time. Never tried it until today. Was stunned that I couldn't keep it there once the club was almost parallel. I am guessing this is helping me fight my natural urge to come over the top by getting the club a little further back (?) or behind(?) me. Can anyone clarify the connection for me - maybe a link to another post?
  22. How are playing groups decided? Is it the luck of the draw or by design.
  23. Dent and crack could be contributing to your distance by shifting MOI and the transfer of the trampoline effect toward the toe of the driver.
  24. Great place to interact and enjoy golf! Welcome.
  25. Braces and less pain ... feel for you. Golf. We love the game. The challenge. The learning. The comradery. And, we deal with the pain. Rx rob us of our coordination. Pain steals our focus (loss of focused sensation of our swing). Your passion for the game is obvious. Good luck going forward. I was thinking of adopting the Scottie Scheffler Shuffle with my feet to eliminate all of that bothersome balance and weight transfer (though I am sure he has all that anyways).
