For the past year I have owned and played fairly well with my R9 Supertri Driver 10.5 loft.

I started with the standard 16-1-1  weighting and moved weights around and adjusted club open & closed.

Then decided to buy an additional weight kit of 10-2-2 weights. More toys = more joy?

This year I started with settings of 1 click closed and weights of 2 heel  10 mid    2 toe...

After a month I started tinkering again...

Right now I have club set to upright standard...2 heel   1 mid   and 2 toe  !

If my Math is correct I have taken 13 grams of weight out of the club... came standard 16-1-1

I do seem to hit the club a bit straighter BUT am I costing myself distance?

By removing 13 grams what have I done?  To swingweight?  shaft flex? Less head weight might mean less flex???

Any idea what new club this weight would be equal to?

BTW The R9 Supertri is such a classic looking head it really doesn't show its age!

Driver :T Edge CB-1 or Cally Mini Driver 14* or GBB 11*

I have the same club 9.5 degree. I replaced the 16 gm with a 1 gm and put a 25 gm counterweight in the grip. The head feels weightless and I definitely get more carry than the standard setup. i like it alot.

Glad to see someone else went "light" with the head weights. When I first got the extra weight kit I loaded the head... 16 heel   2mid  and 10toe. I thought the extra weight would make it a distance beast... Wrong!  The head felt like it was being dragged thru water. Extra weight made the club uncontrollable... at least for my swing speed. My next tweak maybe to set up a backup shaft... either ultra light or senior. Not  planning to take apart the current shaft... just put together a second shaft complete with adapter (China?). I had even considered going with inch longer shaft but I think that might be pressing my luck. For now I will settle for fairways hit vs length off the tee.
