I have never written a review before so this is really just what I learned/experienced. I needed some golf balls so I went to the Golf Shop, looked around and decided to venture out and try some different golf balls. i bought 2 dozen Mizuno RB566V ($29.99/dozen) and played 2 rounds. Right off the bat, on the first tee, i knew something was different. The ball just did not feel right off the driver an i hit it pretty good. Right down the middle and slightly left of center. The problem was that it was about 15 yards shorter than I am used to. Next shot was a 6i to the green. Ball went a little right and again, was about 10 yards shorter than normal...This was the story all day long. However, with wedge shots to the green, the ball seemed to bite pretty good, but not a hop and stop...
I played a second round with these balls and had the same experience as in the first round. So here is my take on these golf balls:
Feel: I can't really come up with a word for it, but it was not a soft ball and not like a rock. Felt different and sounded different.
Distance: Short off the driver and irons.
Around the green: pretty good but not what you get with a premium ball. (I do not normally play the premium balls)
Result: I used 6 balls and gave the remaining 18 to my brother who usually plays Noodle golf balls. We will see how he likes them.
Me, I gonna stick with my $25 a dozen balls (Cheaper when I can find them). Maybe the RB566V will work for some, but not for me...If you try them, post a review and lets see if we agree or feel differently.
