Thoughts on buying new irons

It's definitely time for me to buy a new set of irons. I'm 15 years old and shot my rounds 25 over par. I thought about buying a graphite-shafted Set with a regular flex. (iron 7 carry 135 yards )

Here are the sets I looked for:
- Callaway X-20
- Cleveland CG Gold
- Cleveland FT
- Ping G10

The clubs should be forgiving though they shouldn't look like ultra-forgiving-clubs. I think I would prefer the design of the Callaway and the Cleveland. I already demo'ed the PING G10's and I'm going to demo at least the Cleveland CG Gold, too. Any other supposes for me?

Give the WilsonStaff products a try. You will be very suprised.

I have the Ci6's and love them. The new Ci7's are really amazing. The ball comes off the face so hot it's not even funny. I couldn't stop the ball from hissing off that club.

Wilson might save you a few bucks to fill the rest of your bag as well .

Here are the sets I looked for:
- Callaway X-20
- Cleveland CG Gold
- Cleveland FT
- Ping G10

All the sets you are looking for are very good. If price is a concern, go with the CG golds or go for a used 2 year old set. You would not lose anything with a used set, and as you grow it will make a future set easier on the wallet. Being a dad of a past junior golfer, i would recommend cavity back game improvement irons. Not super shovels, but stay away from the blade style that you will see in the bags of the older 17/18 yr old golfers. I would recomend REG flex steel vs. graphite. You are only going to get stronger and will want the consistency of steel even though for 12 months you might give up a little distance. Most important thing at your age is short game practice and getting VERY comfortable with your wedge game. You are going to miss greens, and if you have a good wedge game and putter, you will make very quick drastic improvements in your game. This also will give you confidence that you can do it, which will give you confidence to hit the longer irons more aggressively. Good luck.

I have the X20s and love them.

I would also recommend the Titleist AP1s... I demo'd them but ended up with the X20s.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

All clubs are different.

go down to your local shop and try a bunch out and i definitely recommend getting custom fitted.

Ci6's are amazing. Very good accuracy, nice look at address, and they go a long way.

What is your budget and other thoughts for you:

1) Are you sure you want graphite?
2) I think steel is the better choice for you, especially as you get older and stronger you want the accuracy of steel.
3) Have you considered light steel? True Temper makes several steel shaft that weight close to graphite also check out the company called Nippon golf, they make a shaft that is a few grams from graphite.
4) If you are on a budget, I saw several forged clubs on Ebay for under $100 that were clubs that I would considered buying myself.
5) Have your swing check for the proper shaft flex, lenght of club and lie.

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
