These things are like watching a train wreck...you don't want to, but you can't look away.

(Is that McCain on the left, by the way?)

Ha Ha Ha! Joe the Plumber. That guy is sitting home right now screaming "Stop talking about me, you a$$holes!"

McCain: "Hey Joe, you're rich now. Congratulations!"

Sarcasm is such an under-rated trait in a potential president.

I am by no means an Obama fan, in fact I am registered Republican, but McCain has run one of the worst (as in likely loosing) campaigns I have ever seen and he got called on it tonight;

“Mr. Ayers has become the centerpiece of Senator McCain’s campaign in recent weeks,” Obama complained, saying he had “roundly condemned” Ayers’ advocacy of violent reform three decades ago, before Ayers became a college professor and advocate for education programs.

“The fact that this [Ayers] has become such an important part of your campaign, Senator McCain, says more about your campaign than it does about me,” he said.

I thought that was a very good (and accurate) line.

I was just bummed he didn't come back with something as good after McCain said "I'm not President Bush". Something like, "Well, you keep bringing up voting records ... and we'd never know you weren't Bush based on your voting record"

It saddens me that so many people do not care people associate with known terrorists. If Obama does not approve of the things Ayers did 30 years ago... then why still associate with them? Its not like the guy has changed his beliefs.

The campaign isnt about the association with Ayers... it is about the character of the people that would still associate with him.

I think McCain clearly won tonights debate. In debate number 2, I thought that McCain lost. This may help close the gap.

Other than being on the same board of directors and receiving $200 for his re-election campaign as Senator, is there any other proof of this association? Or are we going to start looking for six degrees of seperation?

If so, are we going to discuss McCain's involvement with Charles Keating and the S&L; Scandal of the late 80s? Or how his wife was involved in a prescription pill scandal in the early 90s? I'm neither Republican or Democrat but if we're going to attack one for questionable association we should do the same for the other.

Feel free... but lets compare current issues to current issues. Obama described Mr. Ayers as "a guy who lives in my neighborhood,". I would say that is about as current as it gets.

You're right. What was I thinking. An 8 year-old Barack Obama should have been able to control the supposed acts of a 40 year-old stranger. Again, they served on the same board and lived in the same neighborhood. It's possible that Obama sees a reformed person? It's not like Obama's Bill Clinton, pardoning a convicted terrorist who failed to add anything of substance to his community. As for dealing with the issues, McCain's campaign would be better off on focusing on prominent issues. Ayers is not a prominent issue, instead, it's serving as a fear tactit. Let's scare people. I'm just waiting for them to make issue of Barack's middle name or gulp, start letting people know...that he's black. It's funny, though, how both candidates agree on so many issues and their ideas of spending are almost identical. I think both candidates are strong. It's too bad that both VP candidates, IMO, suck.

Sex offenders live in my neighborhood I certainly hope that does not DQ me from my current position working a government job or any future ones.

I hope for his sake he doesnt considering Ayers said that he wishes there would be more bombings.

    • Nice, I just thought mine was a decent guess to rule out a few things and did not expect to hole out.
    • Hey team. This is a very difficult hole at the course I started golfing on and where I often go back. I always struggle - it’s narrow (35y) with trees on both sides. If you go lateral, you’re out of bounds. The green also feels small.    I play the white tees usually, so 30 or so yards up from here. If I hit my driver, it usually goes lateral and lost or if it curves it hits a tree and I lose a ton of distance.   I carry my 7i probably about 140-145, with 5-7 yards of roll out. Driver is 265 with roll out on a good strike with a premium ball, but probably closer to 220 carry on average. My hybrid goes about 180-200 including roll out but has been fading quite a bit recently not too much wind on this hole and the ground is hard, but I’m not sure I’ve practiced a long punch. If that’s what I need to work on, happy to put in the time.  Appreciate any advice anyone has, approach to holes like this, or other things to consider.
