I was given this as a birthday gift, doesn't work on my mac so I have to wait awhile until I have access to a windows machine.

Anybody have one? How do you like it?

EDIT: Also if you have it, do you know if its legality status as far as tournament play, etc. It doesn't measure slope(at least I haven't figured out how to do that if it does.)

Don't know if you have an Intel Mac, but I've had really good luck with USB devices and VMWare Fusion. I don't think I've hooked up a single USB device that didn't work just like it was a native Windows install. I plan on using an iGolf Neo with my Server 2008 VM, I'll post back results in a few weeks when I actually buy the device :)

If there is it will still be OK; the Windows virtual machine will install/run the software just fine and then VMWare takes care of the USB translation from the VM to the actual hardware...

If you aren't already familiar with installing Windows and virtaul machines, then the VM idea might be throwing you in the deep end from a concept standpoint. Here's the Support Site for BootCamp Basically you carve out a piece of your hard drive for Windows and then once it's installed you can just boot into either OS world (Mac/Windoze). If you have a copy of XP/Vista, all the drivers you'll need are already on the Leopard install disk. It's actually a more streamlined process installing Windows on a Mac than most "Windows" boxes. Shoot me a PM is this makes no sense and I'll help out if I can; treading on the Dark Side after coming to the light can be scary but it's better than living there... (In case you can't tell I really like my Mac; I work in a Windows IT development shop and I'm one of the few that has seen the light so to speak)

    • Super narrow hole. Stroke average will likely be well over par here. Since it seems like it only plays what 300-305 for you from white tees I don't think 7i - 7i is the worst play if 7i dispersion is small enough that it would hardly ever reach the penalty hazards.  But if your 7i dispersion brings the hazards into play then you're likely better off hitting something further up there since everything would have the hazard in play.
    • Nice, I just thought mine was a decent guess to rule out a few things and did not expect to hole out.
    • Hey team. This is a very difficult hole at the course I started golfing on and where I often go back. I always struggle - it’s narrow (35y) with trees on both sides. If you go lateral, you’re out of bounds. The green also feels small.    I play the white tees usually, so 30 or so yards up from here. If I hit my driver, it usually goes lateral and lost or if it curves it hits a tree and I lose a ton of distance.   I carry my 7i probably about 140-145, with 5-7 yards of roll out. Driver is 265 with roll out on a good strike with a premium ball, but probably closer to 220 carry on average. My hybrid goes about 180-200 including roll out but has been fading quite a bit recently not too much wind on this hole and the ground is hard, but I’m not sure I’ve practiced a long punch. If that’s what I need to work on, happy to put in the time.  Appreciate any advice anyone has, approach to holes like this, or other things to consider.
