Anyone use these clubs? I just received a 5 hybrid and the thing is a breeze to hit straigt and 200 yards. I'm thinking about picking up a set and selling my current set. I don't even think I'll need a driver or 3 wood as the hybrids can take their place.

I really like mine. I'm watching ebay and other online used retailers for the 26 degree #5 Sumo^2 hybrid. Easy to hit, very straight and forgiving, what's not to love? They make #'s 6 and 7 too, but I spend a lot of time with my 6i (it's my go to warm up club on the range) and I don't think replacing it would be of as much benefit as I'm getting with my long irons.

So you like the stiff shaft? I'm debating between stiff/regular. I'm working on swing speed now and don't want to get regular and later regret not getting stiff shafts.

My swing speed isn't real real fast but i use stiff flex in these and have no problems. Better test you some out before you buy.

My swing speed is around 100/w driver. I can swing faster, but that seems to be the point of where I get the most distance out of my clubs while still maintaining some modicum of control. As a general rule that puts me in the "stiff" shaft range. I'd probably be just fine with regular flex, but hopefully as my game progresses I can start to push the envelope of how hard I swing, and that's where and when I don't want to short change myself on my driver, woods, and hybrids shaft flex.

How often, if ever, do you use the 3 or 4 Hybrid off the tee?

One other question for you....Do you believe the headcovers for these are imporant or not? There is an Ebayer that sells these sets cheap but without headcovers. I can get a replacement set or alternatives but I'm wondeing if they're even necessary. Headcovers are usually just a pain anyways.

I've only used them off the tee on long par 3's.

Overall.....love these sticks. I played yesterday and wasn't hitting the ball very well off the tee or otherwise. I was able, however, to pull off very decent and servicable shots with these hybrids and my wedges. These hybrids simply have been a breath of fresh air in my game. Very happy with them.

All the time, well that is on holes where I not using driver and my 3w would be too long (230yds). That means they see use on long par 3's and depending on the hole a few par 4's. Pure contact for the 3 gives me 215yds and I look for 200yds out of the 4 (drop 10yds off of each of those numbers for a slower more controlled swing). If a hole calls for that yardage I pull it out, and I love it when I get to do it.

As to head covers I use mine, but it strikes me that they aren't as necessary as with your driver and fairway woods.

Anyone use these clubs? I just received a

200 yards with a 5 H is super distance!!!

So you like the stiff shaft?

Based on the distance you are getting I'd highly....highly.....very highly recomend you get stiff shafts. It sounds like you are killing 'em.....regular would be to whippy for you.....my opinion anyway.

I always use them on mine. They fit over the heads very easily....no reason not too. The tops of the NIKE Sumo Hybrids is painted matte black...scuffs and marks wipe off easily....but...I'd hate to pay the $$$ for a new club and have the top surface beat all to heck just because I let bag chatter beat them up. You can get replacement covers for your favorite colleges, NFL teams and etc.

I'm about 205-190yds with my 3H.........175-190 with my 4H....170-180 with my 5 iron.....etc. I wish I was getting the distance you are....I'd game a 2H and forget about 3W and driver and have 2 more wedges....

    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
