Out of curiosity, if you had the choice between the two, money aside, skill aside, swing aside, etc, which is a better bang for the buck?

Then again, the Burner 09 comes with a FREE fairway wood, etc.

In my Edge and Atlas bag:
driver: FT-iQ 9R and Taylormade R9 460 10.5 R
wood: 5 Wood FT-iQ Neutral

I don't get it you say "money aside" but then ask for which is better bang for the buck. The obvious choice as you stated is the Burner 09 since it comes with a free fairway metal and shoes.

Since you don't know which one is better, get the one that comes with the free fairway wood. Seriously. Not being funny, rude, etc.. Good deals out there. I saw the same for some Callaway driver/woods on The Golf Warehouse. Diablo for $300 and get a free Diablo fairway wood. Sweet.

I would buy the Burner and then sell it with the fairway wood and make a profit possibly and then get the r9 460.

Good idea. I had the 08 burner and liked it but it was stolen at some time ago. I figured I'd probably try the R9 which is the same cost as the burner. I will hit it this afternoon but was wondering if the R9 is worth it.

I'll go the other way on this. I'll say the R9 460 just because of the graphics on the top of the Burner. I know they are giving a 'free' 3 wood with it, but they graphics definitely prevented me from buying it. The good thing about the R9 is at least you can chance the loft/lie/shape bias whereas you can't with the Burner. One of the worst feelings in the world (at least for me) is when I buy something because I thought I liked it but then tried it in real life and didn't like it. I have had this happen with golf clubs a few times - hit it good at store, but get it out on course and find it's not what I thought it was. If the R9 460 had been available a few weeks ago I would have bought it (I almost bought the R9 despite the cost, but in the end I just couldn't justify spending $400, but the 460 is only $300 so I think I could have justified that since I had to buy a new driver anyway).

To be honest, I'd rather have the 07 Burner over the 09 Burner, and for that reason alone I'd go with the R9 460.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
