Hi All,

I currently have the TM Spyder putter, which I enjoy quite a bit, but I have always loved the feel of the Cameron putters. I have never been able been to convince myself to shell out the cash for it even though I spent $250 on mine (impulse buy).

My question here is this. Which Cameron putter would you buy if you could have your pick? Also, please let me know what your reason is behind it. A few of them look the same to me though. What are the differences really?

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks!

You can pick them up used fairly cheap if you are willing to hunt. They are made well enough that age doesn't affect them too much.

Are the Bettardi's really that good? I've never seen one at any of the golf shops I've been to (Golfsmith). Maybe I wasn't looking for them.

I don't know, but is it just me or are people on this site pushing Mizuno a lot? I'm new to here but keep seeing the brand being praised like no other.

I hope I don't offend anyone. Just asking the question.

You see that because they deserve it! Mizzy irons are flat out fantastic and their betti puters are top notch

Regardless if you like the straight back straight thru stroke or a very small arc, check out the long kneck models .. The circa series is butter soft, the selects a little more clicky, the model with the gss insert is flat soft, and in my opinion the studio designn series feels hollow... Hope this helps

Not offending me, this putter is my first Mizuno club and I LOVE IT. 14 putts today for 9.. only one tap in from a chip too.

Mizuno makes great irons that a lot of people here play and love. They just want you to learn their joy. Try and find a bettinardi next time at golf smith. They are harder to find than cameron's (pro golf here doesn't have them, puetz does).

I'm a big fan of my newport 2. The feel is amazing and it definitely instills confidence when leaning over a 4-footer. If I had a choice however, I probably would have picked up a fastback (can't, I'm a lefty). Here's the reason I bought my newport:
You spend $700-1000 on a set of irons which you replace after let's say 5 years. You spend $300 on a driver that lasts a couple years at best. If you find the right putter, you could keep it for a decade or even longer. So, in my eyes, $300 for a putter isn't that bad of a long-term investment.

I was in the same position as you, wanted to try one but not spend that much money so I bought a used one off ebay. My ideal model would be the red x3, the model I picked up was the original red x with the gss insert (I need a mallet type putter to help with alignment). It is a very nicely balanced putter and I'm glad I got it but I do think they are overhyped.

Yes! Mizuno Bettinardi Putters are entirely made in the USA by Bettinardi. They are on par with Scotty Cameron in terms of build quality. Their special feature is the honeycomb design on the face cut with a jewelery tool to insure the face is flat. I would check them out as well as Scotty's. Budgetgolf has the brand new Mizuno Bettinardis for like 80$ after coupons and a gift certificate.

As for which Cameron I would have? Probably the Detour, it looks really sweet even though I have a pendulum stroke, not a natural curved one.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will look into the Bettinardi. I just have to try and find a place that has it out on the floor so I can try it and see how it feels. May look into some used ones as well for Cameron. See which one feels better and go from there.

So I went to budgetgolf.net and have a question regarding the Bettinardi putters. A lot of them look the same, but have different model numbers (e.g. C-O1, C-O2, C-03, and C-06). What are the differences between them? Is it the shaft angle? The pictures all look the same.

Thanks. From looking at the pictures again, there just seems to be subtle differences in the design, but the loft is the same on all of them but the C-06. There is no mention of the weight differences.

Does anyone know where in Los Angeles I can try these out (preferably in the Southbay)?

Hi All,

If you want a quality putter you can find many milled putters that are half the price of a Scotty Cameron. Cleveland, Bettinardi are just a few milled putter that are being offered closer to $100-$150 vs over $250 for a Scotty, its suppy and demand.

Id personally go for a Circa 62 if I were to buy a Cameron, but IMO Camerons arent worth the money.
Theres a lot of other putters on the market that have the exact same designs and the same level of quality and craftsmanship as a Cameron for half as much money (or less).
Ive owned Camerons in the past and while they are great putters, IMO they arent worth the money.

So I haven't been able to find anywhere where they have mizuno putters. For $100, does it just make sense to buy it and if I don't like it, sell it on ebay or something?

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
    • Weaker depth of fields for sure. Some of the top level guys with Jack were pretty awesome. Tom Watson had the lead on the 72nd hole of the 2009 British Open, an event where Tiger missed the cut. Old Tom was almost 60 years old. Jack himself at age 58 finished Top 10 at The 1998 Masters and scored better than Tiger, who won The Masters by 12 shots just a year before that.   The success of both Tom & Jack in older age gives some hope that maybe Tiger can find the magic again at some point. He’s still trying to figure out how to build the stamina for 72 holes after the leg injury. I would love to see him jump on the leaderboard in the coming years. I know a lot of people have given up on him at this point, but that was also true from 2014 to 2017 with the back injuries. He had a hell of a resurgence in 2018 & 2019. Would be fun to see it again.
    • Perceptive rules question by caddie unlocks Tour pro’s ‘dead zone’ relief A perceptive rules question by Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser, unlocked “dead zone” relief during the Wells Fargo Championship.
    • I ran across an interesting new clip, Johnson Wagner went into that spot with the Referee who allowed the relief.  Apparently there was a perfectly reasonable shot to be made, as Johnson clearly demonstrated, so relief from the TIO was perfectly appropriate.
