Cart Bag Questions

I have a nice, light stand bag that I am happy with for trips to the driving range or maybe a Par 3 course but it just doesn't have enough room for a full round of golf. I'd like to add a cart bag that has a 14 way, full length divider. I'd also like room to store an umbrella and my shoes as well as all the normal stuff like balls, tees, towel, wallet, keys, phone, jacket, a cold drink, etc... What do you guys recommend?

There are currently a TON of Taylormade San Marino bags on ebay right now. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Do most of you use a cart bag when on a course with carts and a stand bag for walking courses and driving range trips or do you have one bag for everything?

If you like to walk you're probably better off getting a bigger stand bag rather than having two bags that you have to switch between. Stand bags will still fit pretty well on the back of a cart. Most stand bags that aren't of the "lite" variety have enough room for carrying plenty of stuff.

If you want 14 full length dividers you should check out the Nike Sasquatch Tour or the Sun Mountain Four 5, or even better, check out the Sun Mountain MPB which is a "crossover" bag designed for people who like to both walk and ride.

I'm just getting back into golf after a 9 year layoff and I have moved in the meantime so I don't know what the public courses around here are like. I guess I should just keep my stand bag for now and if I determine that most of the courses I like use carts, then I can invest in a nice cart bag. In the meantime, the one I have will do for both. Thanks.

I use an Adams Deluxe Cart Bag and, while it isn't as heavy as a staff bag, I still wouldn't want to walk and carry it.

I plan to start walking the courses to save money and get more exersize and am buying a Clicgear 2.0 bag cart. It's $180 on Ebay but saving $7-14 per outing, it will pay for itself in no time.

There are a few companies making 'hybrid' carry/cart bags now that are lightweight, have double straps, but are a little bigger and sit on carts nicely. One that just came out is a model from Burton that has stand legs that can be locked in place so as not to interfer with cart. It's lightweight, but also pretty spacious.

I personally only use a cart bag these days because when I walk I use a pull cart and cart bags also work better for those.
