I'm trying to find more people in my area to golf with. Most of my friends are great for a casual round about once every 2 to 3 months, but I like to go out every weekend I can get and really HATE golfing solo. I'm planning on going out to Davy Crockett this Saturday morning, anyone here interested? Difficult course, fairways are okay, greens aren't too terrible and a helluva lot better than they were earlier this year, and it's only $21 for the first round, and $12 for the second if you want to try to get in 36 holes.

Hey Windmark-
I am in Memphis, haven't played Davy Crockett in years. Can you play during the week at all. I seldom have time on weekends do to family commentments. Play when I can during week, friday afternoons are common.

Every once in a long while I can break free during the week, though Fridays would be the least likely day I could break free. During the week, when I can get out of the office a little early I typically head over to Fox Meadows as it's substantially closer to where I work.

Best day is typically Saturday, followed by Sunday mornings, then any day during the week that I'm lucky enough to be able to get out of the office a little early, typically very short notice on that happening though.

Hey Bob - I'm in Memphis and play Stonebridge most days/weekends. I pretty much play SB exclusively since I'm a member and it's like all my golf budget is "prepaid" (I play nine most evenings and usually 18 on Saturday and Sunday so I'd go broke paying each time) - if you want to get together some weekend there just drop me a line but it's like $45 to ride without a membership.

Here's hoping we get a break in the rain today - hope you enjoyed the great weather yesterday!

      I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
