Hello.
I'm going to buy new iron clubs, and two friends of mine are selling their old ones. Both are taylor made, others Burner XD and others r7 draw. Both cost 200 €. I'm wondering which ones of these clubs would be better (for me)/better use for money? My hcp is a little under 30.
Thank you!

I agree with the first recommendation - try both if you can. I think i have the differences correct, but you can tell from looking at the irons also. The R7 Draw, will have quite an offset to them, and they are weighted to help a golfer that has a slice - tries to get the club head back to square at impact due to the weighting of the head. The XD is a different animal. TM wanted to have a max distance iron, so they used a titanium face insert, and made the lofts on each of the irons approx. 1 club strong. What this means, is that a 7I from the XD set, is much closer in loft to the 6I in the R7 set. This is not an issue for most golfers, but you should know this if you get to try them both and you hit the same XD's further.

I really like my XD's - but it did take me a while to get used to the different lofts when compared to my old set. Good luck, and with a 30 HDCP i don't think you can go wrong with either set. both are good quality irons.

Cobra L5V - Just waiting for the ZL to have a lower price
Cobra F Speed 2006 3 wood - very underrated 3 wood
Adams Pro Idea 3H and 4H

Taylormade Burner XD 4-AW
Cleveland 48*, 52*, and 60*

Odyssey F7 2 Ball

Thank you for your comments!
I found also some other treads concerning to these irons. Right now I think XD would be better for me, because I don't want to get rid of my possible mistakes in swing by choosing different clubs, but by changing my swing to the right direction. But as the range opens next week (summer is late here in Finland, the winter was terribly cold and snowy) I'll try them both out.

I recently picked up a used set of R7 Draw irons as a backup set, and I like them a lot. I think TM did a good job creating a draw bias with the R7 Draws without going too far with closing the face and things like that. Let's face it, many of us looking for irons in the GI and SGI category have a tendency to slice, so I saw nothing wrong with a club trying to help that tendency without going overboard. I read enough positive reviews on the R7 Draws to feel good about buying the used set. The R7s (Draw or not) are still very highly regarded irons--TM got that line right. That said, they won't be for everyone, so try to hit both sets if you can. And all that said, my Wilson Di9 irons are awesome irons, and those would certainly be worth a look for you as well. Good luck.

I have the R7 draws and have hit the regular R7's. Honestly I can't tell the differents. The draws are no more offset the the Regular R7's from what I could tell. My local golf shop was selling the draws for 329$ a year ago and they had the R7's at 399$ so I picked up the draws. I really like mine. Both R7's also have stronger lofts than most other clubs. My 6i is 27* I think. Most are about 30*.

Driver.... Nickent DX Evolver V2 65 stiff /07 Burner YS6+ stiff .
4 wood..... Nickent 4DX

I think it is likely a matter of you not being used to the different weighting of the R7 Draws. So the swing that you have likely grooved into with the MX-23s would likely not translate to the R7 Draws immediately. I suspect you'd probably get into a groove with the R7 Draws if you played them consistently, as they are quite easy to hit. As was said above, appearance-wise, I don't think they scream "draw iron", and look very much like any other GI or SGI iron at address. But the draw weighting could just not be for you.
