I've hit the FTs, good solid. Only did one round with them cause it was a rental. They go farther than my irons but i dunno they're solid forgiving irons

You know, I've never heard of the Callaway i-bird irons. Do they just fly out of the bag into your hands? Does the ball really fly high when you hit them?

Re: Callaway FT and Callaway FT i-bird Irons, what are your thoughts?

I'm currently gaming the Callaway FT irons, They are actually my first set of irons, so I don't have much to compare them to or much to say about them. I've enjoyed the time I've had with them over the past two years, but I'm ready to move on to something closer to a blade so I'm actually going to be putting them on ebay soon.

They play well though. From what I remember back when I used to borrow my dad's old forged irons to play, the FTs launch a bit higher for me and I lost a few yards of distance, but they are more forgiving.

Hope that helps a little.

I think they're great. When I switched from X-18s to these, I gained both distance and a bit of control. Some of that is probably due to improving my game in general, but the feel of the irons is amazing and even for a GI iron, I find you can adjust your shot trajectory more than others. The other nice thing is that when you hit a nice solid shot, the feel is like cutting through butter - all the good stuff you want to feel is right there without any vibrations. After just a few holes you know what a good shot feels like and you can rely on it feeling the same every time.
