Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the mutual bounce would be on a SW (56 degree)?

I am going to be a first time buyer of a personlised SW and was chatting to a mate and realised that there are different degrees of bounce and I have no idea what I would use.

So any advice would be great.

What's in my bag:

R7 TP Driver 8.5 degree
5 wood
ZB Forged Irons (3 - PW) Vokey Milled Chromed SW Putter

if you play a course that is generally softer (lots of rain, etc) or has traps with lots of sand in them, you're better off with a high bounce wedge (about 14 degrees). If the course is hard with bare traps, then go for a low bounce model (about 10 degrees). The choice of bounce also has to do with the style of stroke you have. If you tend to sweep the ball off the turf, high bounce may lead you to blade the ball, and the opposite for low bounce. Your best option is to try before buying.

I would say 12 degrees is a good all around amount of bounce for that loft. Enough bounce to make it easy to use from the bunker and rough, but not too much that it wont be impeding on your contact on shots from the fairway. You dont want to go less than 10 for that loft, though. 14 or more would be on the high end. But whatever you do, use the bounce. It makes shots around the green so much easier. The more you can expose, the better.

I just got my CG15 56* in the mail today. According to Cleveland, 14* bounce is the in-between level (or two dot). I relied on that when ordering one, but after reading these posts I'm kinda worried it might be too much bounce. We shall see
