Hi guys,

I am just starting out with golf and have been taking lessons for the past 2 weeks (3 sessions) so pls go easy on me ;)

But seriously i was looking for some feedback on my swing. I am currently doing the half swing as the instructor feels that is the most i should focus on.

Lemme know what you think.

Cheers,
Aneesh

Its not all that bad. You could probably be a consistent 80's shooter with that swing, which isnt bad. You do sway off the ball in the backswing, but that is more of an issue for a teaching pro.

Thanks for the tips guys, I think you guys are right about the swaying away part. That is probably the reason why I keep hitting the top of the ball or some other part. I will try and implement these ideas and report back...cheers!!

Welcome to the forum and the game of golf. Be prepared for some frustration. For most, it takes a lot of practice to improve.

Set up
Your feet are just about the perfect distance apart for a mid iron.
Ball is a bit too far back in your stance.
Your grip looks a little off (hands look a bit separated and the right hand looks like it's in a "weak grip".

Backswing
I like how you keep your right elbow connected to your torso
Try keeping the left arm straighter on the backswing
Yes, agree with the swaying comments. Try keeping your head over the ball

Downswing/Forward swing
You throw the club head at the ball a bit.
Try using your legs/hips/torso more on the forward swing
You have nice arm and leg extension at impact, try to keep your arms extended more into the follow through.
Extend more with your low back into impact.
