Anyone else gaming these? I love my Hogans and they are still in pristine shape but was fitted for a Project X 6.0 Flighted shaft. I looked into getting new shafts but as we all know the cost to do this is outrageous. So I decided to see if I could find a set of irons. Came down to the Callaway X-Forged and the Bridgestone J36 Combos. Found a guy selling a set of the Bridgestones. He said they had 10 rounds in them but you could fool me as they look brand new. He had the receipt for them from a local shop he and I verified they were legit. Cost for the new set of irons was $125 less than reshafting my Hogans. Excited to play them.

I just got a set and I've taken them to the range a few times and played one round with them. So far I absolutely love them. Supposedly the metal used is softer than what Mizuno forges their clubs with, but I'm no metallurgist. I also have the 6.0 flighted shafts in them, and I like how they feel light and crisp. I think I'm going to play these irons in to the ground.

wow they sound nice.. my next big golf purchase will be irons and ive got my eyes on mizuno forged and bridgestone.  Only problem is that its kind of hard to find some to hit first to see which ones i would want the most...

I got really lucky with these. I went in to my local shop (Pro Golf Discount) and saw these clubs over a year ago, and fell in love with them, and they were around $650 when I first saw them, and over time they have just been chipping away at the price, and eventually I was in there returning a wedge, and found them marked down to $350 and I had to have them. I've found sets in excellent condition on ebay for around the same price, too. Not a lot of retailers carry bridgestone equipment, but I'm assuming it is easier to find in the NW, due to proximity to Japan, and also that Fred Couples comes from this area, and he's rocking the b-stone gear.

Thanks for the reports guys. I am lucky to have a local retailer who carried these so I have hit them a few times and really like the feel of the club and ball flight I get. i paid under $200 for the set...so if they do not work out I can probably move them for more than I paid but my plan is to have them for a long time.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
