Hey everyone new golfer here, just bought a new set of Diablo edge irons 4-PW, and also the Diablo Octane driver 10.5 Stiff Flex.  I'm trying to improve my golf game after using an old set of cheapo Golden Bear clubs from high school and I found a great deal on these clubs, but now I also want to get fitted for the clubs.

I have always had a problem with my golf swing where it feels like the clubs no matter what kind are to long for me. It seems that when i choke up on my clubs I can hit the ball far straighter than normal. Is this just a problem with my swing that I need to work out or should I get fitted for the clubs and if so is it possible to have my Diablo clubs retro-fit to me even though I've already bought them.

Thanks for the help

a club fitting is always a good idea but i would also recommend taking some lessons. you may find that a simple stance and swing correction will solve the problem for you. i have the same clubs and have found them ver easy to hit.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to look into getting lessons soon and I will try taking my clubs to golfsmith to see if they can fit my clubs for a decent price. Hopefully they wont charge me an arm and a leg to do it.

I also have one other question should my clubs lie squarely on the ground? As of right now the only club I can get to sit squarely would be my PW and all my others have a tilt to them so they are angled and not sitting flat. Am I maybe just to short for golf lol?

those irons cannot be bent more than a degree or two (i dont think), but it does sound like you need a lie adjustment. nothing wrong with choking up a bit!

go to your local golf store. when i bought mine from golf galaxy i was fitted and that includes use of a lie board. i am 5'11" so standard length worked great for me. you do need to get some lessons. from here it is impossible to see how you hold the club, stance, or the angle you keep the club at.

Thanks for your feedback guys.  I think I found a really nice club fitting shop in my town http://www.mcgolf.net/ and I'm going to try and set up an appointment with them soon and hope they can also help me find someone to give a few lessons.  I have really been focusing on my grip and stance while at the range and have realized 2 things that I was doing wrong. First I was not aligning myself properly with the ball when hitting my driver and secondly my grip was horrible. I hope when I do find someone to give me a few lessons that they can spot the other flaws in my game. Putting and pitching are easiest for me but my long game is awful.
