Really? I guess all those pros dont have a clue over you as far as how to swing a golf club, correct?

Ahhhhh. Now I see what is the deal here. I hadnt noticed you were the admin. Its all making sense here. Youre a salesman and you run this site and anyone who disagrees with you is basically forced to listen even if you are wrong. Well, sorry, I dont play that game. Its been real nice and I appreciate all the helpful thoughts from the members here who have offered them, but Im hardly going to keep in a discussion where the admin who makes the rules basically pushes his members around when they dont agree with him. I own a dozen forums myself and I built and maintain websites for a living. Ive certainly never pulled rank like you have here to force MY views on my members and I find it somewhat disgusting that you have. You all have a nice day and enjoy your infomercial forum here.

You clearly believed the wrong physics.

I didn't pull rank and at no point in that thread did I do anything like a salesman. I participated in a discussion and called you on your bullshit. You sure do complain a lot for someone who doesn't care what I think.

Now, if you continue to misbehave you'll find yourself in the Penalty Box or banned. We do both of those even less frequently than we close obvious troll threads, like this one, but you're on the fast track.

Should people wonder why he's in the Penalty Box, they can look here.

Apparently all of you guys are shithead suckers.

Lovely chap.

P.S. For a long time I kept PMs private, including the really, really abusive ones. Unfortunately this allowed some people to make public claims about how they're being mistreated and they don't know why because they've never done anything wrong. About how I don't like them because I disagree with them. Sorry, no more. If you behave like this in a PM, to the point where action is taken against you, then you're no longer guaranteed that PMs you send to me are not going to come out. GFF disagreed with me all throughout the thread and no harm came to him. When he resorted to name-calling, that's when he was sent to the Penalty Box for a week. For the 99.99999% of you who don't behave like morons, this change will not affect you, ever.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I finally broke down and went to the pro shop and had my swing analyzed.

Turns out that the INSTRUCTOR on duty couldnt believe that I am self taught (using internet material).

He said given the timeframe Ive been learning I am way ahead of where he'd have expected someone to be.

He said the only thing at this point that he'd even remotely wonder about was that I have the ball a bit closer than he would but he said its clearly WORKING for my game seeing that I nailed the ball pretty much dead center every time.

The analysis from the machine he uses shows that I hit the ball at pretty much the exact launch angle for the 6 iron I was using.

The side spin was very slightly left, just enough to cause a slight draw or go dead straight....huh...just as I SAID before if memory serves.

The only thing he said I COULD work on is club head speed, but I wasnt there to break any speed records, so my swing speed was only 75mph and the ball speed was 100mph.

Now I realize the coward who runs this forum WILL have to delete this thread so those of you he's duped into believing you HAVE to have PAID instruction wont be able to see the TRUTH that we CAN learn this game without paying a damned cent for lessons...but thats fine because when he does delete it that will just prove my case against him and most other dishonest 'instructors' out there.

Ive played two rounds of golf in the last 5 days. Ive stuck EVERY fairway and most of the time its been dead on my aim line or a slight draw to the left that was almost imperceptible.

Regardless of what the nimrod owner of this forum CLAIMS I AM as good as I was saying I was (which is that I am on the green in regulation or at most one over.....it 2 or 3 strokes to the green for a par 4)

This 'instructor' HERE can whine and complain and make all the claims he wants to make but the EYES of an instructor and the machines he used to analyze what the ball was doing certainly arent any more of a liar than iacas here is.

And there you have it.

I'll go back to actually LEARNING to golf while the dupes here continue to pay for lessons and get nowhere.

Thank you for your time.

Oops. It's not deleted. It's just merged into this other thread you started.

You really, really, really misunderstood everything all the people were telling you. Nobody said you had to take lessons. Not. A. Single. Person. Including me - I didn't say it. Hell, I got to a 1.8 without taking lessons.

Again, you really didn't read the old thread very well.

And really, we've had enough of the name-calling. And heck, I'd tolerate even the name-calling if it wasn't so baseless and so very much based on your complete misunderstanding of the thread.

Uh, okay. Sure thing dude. Enjoy three-putting your way around your 5800 yard course and making "breaking 90" your goal. To many that's not "good golf." Again, I got to a 1.8 without instruction. NOBODY told you that you "need" instruction.

As for my ability as an instructor, well, I'm just going to stand on my record, my body of work. And the fact that I give away a ton of information, free, here on the site.

You apparently couldn't have misunderstood the thread in question more if you had tried to do so.

Back in the Penalty Box, GFF.

    • New clubs came in this morning and I happened to be working in the area so I picked them up. PING G430 Max 3W (-1.5°) with PING Tour 2.0 Black 75, X-Stiff at -1/2" PING G430 3H with PING Tour 2.0 Chrome 85, X-Stiff Those replace my old fairway wood and hybrid, making all 14 clubs in my bag fitted. I'm going to need new excuses for bad shots 😜
    • Ooh, I don't know about that. I've hit flop shots that are 6-7° down. The more you widen the spin loft the less ball speed you put into the ball.
    • Re: your graphic, ‘ I expected a little more from a varsity letterman.’ Lol…just another one for @boogielicious
    • Can't brag about a 50 last night but it was the best round of my season (4 rounds of 9 holes) so I am not as upset as I could be.  One thing I am noticed is that I got a little more confident in my long hybrids and I attempted a couple longer shots that typically I would just lay up and those holes were a big part of the lower score.  Not every shot was great but good enough that they helped.  I even shot par on a Par 5 after taking a drop.  On that hole I would usually lay-up to @ 100 yards and often miss the green altogether with my 3rd shot (or worse chunk my approach and put it in the waste area).  Yesterday I went for it from @ 200 yards out with wind in my face and landed in the waste area short of the green.  My drop left @ 40 yards in and I stuck it to 3 feet for my par putt.  If I had laid up I would have avoided the penalty stroke but likely would not have been on the green in regulation and may still have been working for par.  By going for it I gave myself a chance at birdie and still saved par. I do not plan on being crazy aggressive but I think I tend to be too conservative at times so I will "go for it" a little more often going forward.
    • Day 14 (15 May 24) - Worked with the SW in the backyard, short pitches from 10yds up to 30yds.   Focused on ball placement in stance - ball back, ball forward, ball center.  Afterwards moved to inside the shop to work on putting pace on the rug - putting one way gives about an 8' putt, going the other a 6' before bumping onto the adjacent rug.  Focused there on the line - picking a target point about 18"-24" out and making sure the ball rolls through that point.
