OK so I just recently updated my Irons. My old set was way to short so i got custom fit and they work great. With my new set I've put about 10 yards on every iron which has created 1 problem. The gap between my PW and SW is even bigger now. I hit my PW about 155 and my SW about 120, so i really need a GW/52 degree club.

Also my Driver is about 10 years old. Its a King Cobra, i don't really know the specifics on it but it works well. The only problem is that it is not very forgiving like these new drivers. I don't really slice the ball but the head is so small on the driver and the sweet spot is not very large so i really have to swing perfect to get the ball out there.

Also my putter is a 7 year old off brand club. My putting is fine but its time to update to a real putter. This putter really twists on even a slight off center put and i push the ball a lot because of it.

So those are what i think i need. Any suggestions on what i should replace and the order it should go in?

I'd say driver. With the new technology on the market now, you'll notice the biggest difference with that.

I'd get a putter next. Lots of great products out there, just find one that suits you.

You can hit a 130 yard shot with lots of different clubs. The gap wedge would be third on my list.

When it comes to a putter, do whatever gives you confidence over the ball. Remember, you're going to use your putter probably three times as many shots as your driver, so better upgrade that first.

If you like the Cobra driver, I'd just say, get a newer one (Speed series? i think). I've got last year's, and I actually crush the ball off the tee nowadays.

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
