Success in competitions! thanks TST!

I made this thread to thank everyone who contributes to this forum, especially those who answered my questions or posted on threads that helped me.

I have only been playing for a few months and this forum is the only real instruction that I have had.

Thanks to all the help and info on here I was able to place fourth in the closest to the pin competition a few weeks ago and third in the longest drive competition yesterday.

Yesterday I hit two shots over 270 yards (my longest yet) and they both were perfectly straight.

I have also finished middle of the pack in several of the stroke play events I have participated in.

So, thanks to all the help I have recieved from the members of this forum, and I look forward to learning even more as time goes on.

Congratulations, that is very good going.  You have clearly been using great powers of discrimination in taking the pearls of wisdom from this forum while leaving behind the dregs.

I take your thanks personally, since you have benefited from the fact that I don't give much advice here. If I did, I would ignore it if I were you or your game might start going the other way.  Just pay attention to people like Erik and you'll be down to single digits in no time.

I agree, there is indeed a lot to be learned on this forum.  It's putting it into practice that is the hard part.  You must be very motivated, as well as talented, to be doing so well without formal instruction.  Keep it up and let us know how things progress.  Where do you usually play?
