Day 305: Played 18, shot a +6 77. Went +1 on the front, so limped in a bit. But I hit a lot of good shots, so I’m generally please. -

Thanks everyone. I’ll likely play this hole a few times over the summer and will report back. A sick little one plus Mother’s Day may have changed the likelihood that I’ll get to test the approach this weekend though. -

Yes, our HCP #1 is a longer par 5 (No.3). It's a big wide open hole but has large fairway bunkers that come into play on at least two of the first three shots for shorter hitters. So it's long and treacherous enough (due to bunkers) for shorter or slightly crooked hitters. Par is a great score. For long and straightish hitters (typically lower caps) the bunkers are not in play on either shots. It's simply a high percentage birdie hole for them. -
