New clubs...now what?

I have been playing with some hand-me-down clubs for awhile and decided to upgrade last year. Sadly I wasn't able to play but 1 round with them (such a waste).

That particular round was one of my lowest ever at the particular course, I'm still convinced that it was a confidence thing that particular day.  I have been considering lessons under the analogy of getting new tires on your car and getting an alignment to make everything as perfect as possible.

I know lessons are important, but will I learn to hit my clubs as much as I will work on mechanics and me?

Hopefully this isn't too confusing of a question.  Thanks.

Let me try again.  If I take lessons, how much of the lesson is teaching me mechanics and how much of the lesson is explaining about my style of club?

Lessons shouldn't be focused on a particular type of club. A good teacher will work on your technique and mechanics. Good technique and mechanics can be applied to any club.

I suggest you take the lessons.
