Looking for an instructor in Bradenton, FL

I've always taken lessons and have had ten or twelve different instructors over the years. One thing I've learned about instructors is that just because they can play and shoot scratch doesn't mean they can teach. I've had some that can straighten me out in five minutes and others....well.....not so much. As we all know, understanding the swing and getting your body to do it is two different things. The best instructor I ever had lived in a small town in Nebraska where I went to college, he had no credentials but intimate knowledge of the swing and great communication skills. The worst was a PGA instructor of the year who spent more time trying to talk students into a good swing than having them swing the club. And he seemed obsessed with the release. I spent many weeks over the years on the range listening to him "talking" to other students and giving the same lesson over and over. Please don't reccommend Leadbetters school. Been there several years back. The sales dept sold me a 5 day instruction package. Long story short....his instructors told me after I got there they didn't have a 5 day package and I had two days of the same instruction. We were bumped all over the place daily by the kids attending school there. We had to drive 20-30 miles for our daily round because the kids had priority on the school course, sprinklers went off on our practice greens, instuctor were an hour or two late starting every morning. I can go on and on...in the end, incredibly unorganized and unprofessional. If anyone sees Leadbetter tell him it was the worst 2k I ever spent and he owes me some money. Anyways....

I'll be in the Bradenton, FL area in June and would like some instructor recommendations. I'm sure there are several good ones.

Also.....I'm more likely to come over the top with irons, straight pulls and loss of distance. And I drop to the inside with my driver and woods, well below the line. I didn't believe until I saw it on film.....crazy. I started hooking and snap hooking my driver a few years ago and developed an inability to not hook the driver. Man, it was embarrassing! I call it my Barkley glich. Freinds told me to quit. I did stop playing for a season and hit the range and took more lessons. I had to learn to slice the ball again. It took several lessons, the whole season in fact. Just when I think it's no longer a problem the hook will creep back into my swing. I shot my first scratch round last year, had my first hole-in-one, and a few eagles. I had my index down to a 6 and then the wheels came off. I'm back in the 80's. I'm not nearly as good as I think I am.

Andrea Drake is very good and is in Naples. She has been trained by us personally (among others). She is a 5SK Director of Instruction and is at Quail West.
